This is not new and it is everywhere. I work at one of the top universities in Canada. They also have segregated graduations for various races and also for the gays/queers. Segregated clubs, departments, support groups you-name-it.

It's actually official graduation ceremonies where the degrees are handed out. These are events arranged by organizations on campus. Students have to attend the official ceremony for all students to actually get the degree.

As a non-American who stumbled across this video I have to say this man spoke eloquently and impressively. It's a shame his time was so limited and he couldn't engage in an actual discussion with these college leaders. I would have loved to have seen him nail them to the wall about the issues he raised. Where once the world was moving forwards, away from racism, discrimination and segregation in recent years it has been going backwards. They call it "progressive" but it's the exact opposite.

How racist is this? This would not be permitted in any UK university, or indeed any I am aware of in Western Europe, totally shocking! I am really in disbelief here!

I am currently rethinking that approach, There is something happening now in the Universities of the US which is slightly encroaching even on Oxford and some other Western Universities... At this point I'm considering that it's better to study in China, South Korea or Japan. Even with the issues inside China, I might be respected there more inside the University than in the USA...

As a black man, if I was EVER lucky enough back in my college day's to get accepted into Harvard and then for me to get on campus and ONLY be around black people and exclude OTHER races from my dorm or parties etc what in the hell sense does that make? I might as well just went to a HBCU if I was going to do all of that!! My late grandmother told me my senior year in high school to go to a school college that had all races present (in which I did) and the relationships I still have today more than 20+ years today with so many people who were my friends back then and even today OF all nationalities BEST decision I ever made. I can NOT believe the things I heard today in this video that are going on at Harvard I have lost so much respect for that institution and ALL IVY leagues institutions. The LEFT is truly the most evil organization I have ever seen on planet earth TRULY Satanic.

I grew up in a very sheltered white community in the sixties. When I went to college, that was my first real exposure to other races. And I discovered that I liked them very much! In my life, most of my friends have been black. I have spent a lot of time living in Asia. I think it is possible for us to all get along.I have watched universities
slowly move back towards segregation and my friends and I have discussed how awful this is, How none of us would have had a chance to become friends if it hadn't been for desegregation. It's very sad. What's happening in the country now.
There needs to be a "power-up" like button for comments like this. I'm white, and I feel exactly the same way as you do. I'm extremely thankful to have friends from a multitude of races and nationalities. I'd be just a shadow of who I am without them.

Reps. Owens, Stefanik, and Banks really impressed me. They were unafraid to ask the tough questions and say the things that needed to be said, and never backed down in the face of all the tapdancing, backpedaling, and deflecting around simple questions.
They should not be afraid to ask or say the truth !!!!
It doesn’t amaze me any longer when highly educated educators can’t answer yes or no. I remember being admonished by a teacher for not following clear instructions when I was younger. Apparently educators can’t either when asked to answer yes or no.
Pretty much fact that grads with an education major inhabit the lowest tier of intelligence in any student body. They get away with it (non answers) in congressional hearings because of the dog & pony show these hearings always are
Bit like politicians they always skirt the real answer yes or no seems to be an art these days. I enjoy the non woke straight talk even if they can’t handle their feelings of being threatened by words, that reality, it’s a yes or no simple.

Wow, I am thoroughly impressed by Mr. Burgess. It made me proud to be an American and share his values. Something I have not felt in a long time. Wish we can all get back on that track. We are all in this together.
His book is really good as well. I've met him many times. He's more like a wise grandfather who is trying to set up his children and neighbors up for success.
