Excellent video. Great closeups of the reel, and descriptions and stats. That's wat I wanna see and hear to make a decision if I wanna buy one. On the fence for a saltist mq 5000 or a shimano saragosa 5000
Tough choice between the two. I have both. Again, I've enjoyed both. The Saragosa feels a little more sturdy and hardy. You wouldn't go wrong with either one.
Hi Scott, If you had to choose between the Certate and the Saltist without question of price. Which one you take ??? Thanks in advance for your advise. And thanks for your vidéo's !
They are very similar. This one has corrosion resistant bearings and a few other updated features. They are similar. This one is much more geared towards saltwater rather than freshwater. I still have BG MQs that do well in salt too. I always keep them clean though etc.
@@ScottMikles thanks for the quick reply! I went to half hitch today and checked out the Van Staal VR50. Similar size and weight but feels like a coffee grinder and cost twice as much

Sir , i want to buy 2 of 5000H , can you tell me is it good ? Thanks
Nice catch 👌 what did your that mean with
What brand line did you pair to the 4K
i hope that one day you will be featured in national geographic show, amin!
You actually use all those rods behind you ?
What’s a budget rod to use on this reel? W Marine has smoking deals on these right now. Thinking of grabbing a 5000 and 8000
A MH Daiwa Proteus boat rod is money on my 6000
@@ScottMikles Thanks!! I just realized you’re by me 😂 I’m in Fort Walton ! Awesome channel man!
@greglopez4853 No problem, you'll love it. That's funny man. Thanks, I really appreciate it.
what kind of rod are you using?
Great stuff what Rod and length did you pair the MQ with ?? Tbx a bu ch
Thanks, A MH Daiwa Proteus has been perfect
@@ScottMikles thanks
Why is this better than BG MQ? Other than the power knob..they seem almost the same

What a perfect size for casting all day. What rod did you pair it with?
It is, lightweight as well.
I paired it with a Daiwa Proteus 7ft medium rod.

@@MarcusCarltonMay no problem.
Yeah, as far as smoothness and feel the VS reels don't even compare.
Saltist MQ 4k Compare to 4k BG do they have same spool size ?
They do not. The BG has slightly more capacity. However, the Saltist MQ has 26.4 lbs of drag and the BG has 17.6 lbs of drag.
@@ScottMikles so compared to bg it's a bit smaller I guess? ( spool dia)
Thanks for your reply mate have a good one
@@Kralex31 Yes, or cut shallower where the line lays.
Is the saltist really worth the extra $100 over the bg mg?
Absolutely. For a number of reasons.
Yeah buddy💪💪🎣🎣
What jigging rods would you recommend
i always use daiwa bg-ex comfortable jigging with max weight at 350g, and i matched it with daiwa bg 4000
@@abdulpomade6160 thanks
What's the rod, specs please
4000 or 5000?
It's a 4000
