I think this is your best pedagogical video. The zoom you add in this video and the reduction of speed improved alot more the visualization, allowing the assimilation of what to do. To hear what to do is sometimes incomprehensible for the mind, it needs an image. Thank you once more master Antonis.

Another amazing icon! Thank you for this. I have struggled with Saint Nicholas. Beards and hair always have been hard for me but his beard has always been super hard for me. Now I can watch you do it properly as many time as it takes for me to get it.

That is a magnificient icon! Thank you so much for this video.
I admire in this video the wisdom of byzantine iconography and how with each and every step in the icon it evolves in a holy and respectful way.
One of your best videos I would say.
    Thks again and God Bless!

I've painted three 'icons' now. Each one was inspired by one of your videos. I just painted them on paper with gouache. I have so much fun painting them.

You are absolutely right when you make the comparison between the byzantine iconographers and the Japanese/Chinese ink-and-watercolor painters.

Very nice video! I really think you need to talk about the semnification of some icons like the Holy Trinity of Rublev. And try to show us how to paint small faces( 2 cm or less). Anyway, good job!

Thank you for all the wonderful videos! But if you have a minute - please, please make a video about highlighting a Red (zinnabar) garment with Blue highlights - or about using a negative first light... It would be of much interest for many viewers! :)

¡Hola!
Hi! I have been following your videos relatively recently, and the truth is that I can say that you are a great iconographer, and that you are helping me a lot, that I am very new in this.
I wanted to know, if possible, if you could make a video on how to paint those cross patterns on bishops' vestments (if you know what I mean)
Thank you so much, God bless you!
(Sorry for my bad english, i am from Argentina)

Hello! I found this site first after searching ‘how to paint an icon’. Then watched your lesson and just subscribed. However, I feel I have arrived after the beginning of the course! I am not even sure what kind of paint you are using! Is there a proper order or sequence in which to watch the videos?
    Very best wishes from Ireland!

It’s okay - no need to answer - you tell us later on. White, ochre and a bit of cadmium red for first light. can you use cinnabar instead of cadmium as I don’t have cadmium .

Just what the h*** does he mean by "proplasmos", dropsimata". It would be helpful if he would explain just exactly what he's talking about. After all, he is "communicating" in English.
