Been recommending BenQ for other digital artist since BenQ is the only brand I know where it has good colors and budget friendly price compare to other professional monitor where it would cost you 1000usd+ for the same resolution and dimension.
P.S. Never ever buy gaming monitors for professional creative content, they lack good color calibration in order to have high refresh rate.
Yea I think their prices are really good! Only other screens I saw being this good are iMacs and they are hella expensive 😲
@@Nadiaxel Dell, LG and the iMacs screen are the only ones I know that has good professional color calibration so far and expensive as well. BenQ is the only brand I know that hits the sweet spot on good colors to price ratio
As always it is just a matter of time - new gaming monitors will get better panels than this BenQ, but the price will be kind of extreme so right now it is not worth it for most people. So today I will get my PD2700U :)
how about msi mag251rx. its has got 8 bit frc + 84%DCI-P3 abd 240hz gsync compatible. it comes wd 1.2 dp n 2.0 hdmi
on the other hand benq sw240 dp 1.2 n hdmi 1.4. came in 2018. 95% DCI-P3
msi hs 1300 contrast as pee hardware u boxed n benq has 1000
@@CaptainScorpio24 never believe what the box says, check for actual reviews in video or reputable sites that reviews them, gaming monitors sacrifice color accuracy in favor of frame rates
Thanks for coming down here in the comment section ♥ when I see an epic comment, I will pin it here instead of mine!
Oh. Wow. You uploaded this just as was looking monitors! Thanks so much! I love your art ✨🌻💕
I can't stress how much a better monitor that shows more accurate colours will help alot of artists to make a much better artwork with the improved sense of colour. Love the vid.
Thank you so much! ♥️ I never realized that until I tried this monitor haha xD now I can never go back! 😚
That was fun to watch and rather helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Ive had a 21inch BenQ monitor for about 9 years or more so its a bit of an oldie but I really like it alot and it has some of the features you've mentioned but of course the older model version but I still use them as its super useful when Im editing vs when Im gaming, I wish that Apple created more plain monitors as their retina display is great however I think that is BenQ that you have reviewed looks fantastic and its now on my monitor wishlist :) thank you for the video :)
This was soo helpfullllllll!! It was nice to see a monitor review from a content and art creator to get and honest review based on this type of workflow! (Plus gaming!) Love your content! (:
The only good review about this monitor from an artist point of view! So good that you've convinced me and I've just bought one! I can't wait to test it out!
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I love mine! 😍 And thank you for watching!
Its nice to hear from a working artist to hear a review. Yours was the one that sold me, and as it turned out, it was on sale by Amazon, here in California for $300. It's the first time I am replying on a youtube like this....THANKS, And PS, I love your work.
Fantastisk anmeldelse Nadia. Dette vil hjælpe mig med at beslutte. Tak :)
By far the best review of this monitor - lots of details and practical useful informations. Thank youu. I am ordering one for my 3D & 2D graphics :) I wish you happy 2020!
Finally someone speaking about daisy chain with diagram... this solves the laptop port issues for multi monitor setup... Thank you, I was really confused of that feature
Thanks for the awesome information. I can really use it.
No problem 😚 thanks for watching ♥️
Awesome! Also i really love your hair, Nadiaxel ^^
Thank you >w< it really needs a touchup tho! The red is so faded XDD
I worked with an Apple 30 inch Cinema Display when I was a full time graphic designer, I still have it and have never been unhappy with it, well other than the price! I must say Eeeeeek! It was a bit pricey back when I bought mine! If I remember right the display cost as much as a new computer. Technology has changed a lot! I think that when I go looking for a new monitor I will consider getting a BenQ! Wonderful review and I am glad you took the time to show us and give us your thoughts about the monitor, I am sure you will be replacing your old monitor as soon as you can!
I just bought a monitor before I saw this review UGH. But that's okay now I know I will save up for this one as my next monitor. This was clear and made so much sense because I was so confused with what I needed in a monitor before seeing a comparison! Thank you :)!!!
i remember using a gaming monitor to do my digital paintings, and I didn't realize at that time that colour accuracy is so important D: I'm using a dell IPS monitor but i'll be switching to BenQ in the near future
I'm sold. Buying one now to finish my film.... (Working in Davinci Resolve) Thank you for the awesome review.
Thanks a lot for this excellent and in depth review! I am absolutely going to buy it! p.s. I love you.
Thank you for the wonderfully informative video about the BenQ PD2700U monitor, Nadiaxel! It influenced my purchase of one as I was ready to splurge on a high-quality monitor with artists in mind. I realized that I did a lot more drawing than game-playing on my computer so I was looking for something like this. Thanks for showing the wire connections and the selection of the proper input - I'm sure that the blue screen would have annoyed me too. I can't draw/paint anywhere as nicely as you can but it's good to see a creative artist rhapsodizing about their monitor. :-) Kudos!
I'm happy you found med review useful! I'm so sooooo happy with my BenQ and I still wish I had another one to complete my setup - hopefully I can get another one in the future when I have saved up a bit ^•^
I was looking at the QHD version of this same 27 inch monitor but it appears from the image that the QHD version has MUCH thicker bezels than the UHD 4K version? Not sure because there is just one main image of the QHD monitor with a large bezel but all the other pictures about the features show a monitor with thin bezels so it's a bit sneaky from BenQ without making this more clear.
Great detailed review from a different perspective. Unfortunately the MST feature with dual pd2700u monitors only works in mirroring mode and not extend with Macs. Fortunately, I run a Hackintosh setup so I’m able to bypass this hiccup.
I just recived my BenQ PD2700U and its great for video and photo works as well
Great info...thanks..kindly tell me what pc configuration do you use for Video editing Ram , Graphic card etc pls.
The BenQ is an IPS technology monitor that gives it the color accuracy and excellent viewing angles.
Your Samsung is probably a TN panel that is inferior in many ways.
Nice review, good to get an in use perspective.
I got a PLS technology , now that is even better then IPS, but also even slower , but its fast enough for casual gaming
Great review, thanks!
Are you still using this display and if so, have to noticed any screen bleed at the corners?
Great review, thanks a lot! To match two different panels to have the same colour probably you would need hardware calibration on both screens. To my knowledge the PD line lacks hardware calibration, and this is one reason why it costs less (inferior antiglare coating, uniformity, etc.). If colour accuracy is critical in your work, I would choose a screen that can be hardware calibrated, the SW line at Benq. Just search on youtube for "calibrating Benq monitor" or similar.
Hello just got to see this video! Do you know which picture mode setting is best for designers? HDR vs sRGB
Any need to consider TN vs IPS panels when shopping for a monitor? What about 60hz vs 75hz refresh rates? Plus, would you consider buying a new BenQ that was introduced in 2017 over a Dell 2021 model? I am trying to stay within the $200 (U.S. dollars) range. I should mention I would be using the monitor for High Res Graphic Content. Color accuracy is important.
Hi Nadia, I am looking to a get this BenQ monitor 2700U for art and design purpose this weekend, will my MacBook Pro mid-2012 run it? It is a pre-retina upgradeable version of a MacBook Pro. I have put an SSD in and taken out the cd drive for another HD and upgraded it to 16gb ram so it runs the adobe suite well but I am unsure about the 4k monitor upgrade. Will it run this monitor? If so will it run it at 60hz or is that only the 2013 models? Great review by the way!
I'm thinking of selling my Cintiq 13HD older model and purchasing the XP-Pen Artist22E Pro 22 too for the bigger screen
Thanks for the video! I'm looking to get one however I'm looking to use two computers for the same monitor. How easy is it to use the kvm switch? Is it comfortable if you have to go constantly back and forth?
VESA mounting option is like an easy +5 score baseline :D
Nice review! An artist's perspective always helps when the product is for creators.
So did you upgrade the display or using any new interesting monitor now?
Hi sweetie!^^I have a question for you(first-Wonderful arts!!)
My question is how did you finally set the settings in it? I'm going to buy it soon, because my old one has already broken down and I have been with me for over 8 years, it will be my first such a large monitor and I hope I can handle it.(sorry for my englishXD)
Thanks nice review ;). I ordered mine today and I was wandering if I have to calibrate this monitor every now and then
Ooohhhh congrats on the new monitor! 😍 i haven't recalibrated mine yet, and I'm actually not sure if you should. I'm sure it says in the guide or on the website if its needed C:
For eye saving mode stuff. just get f.lux program. easily to setup and quickly change to "artist mode", when you need color fidelity.
Regarding the Power wattage. These sort of monitors simply use more power compared to your usual average monitors.
Nice work
Would it be worth picking up for gaming, for a more immersive experience?
Can I ask what is the height of the screen from top to bottom (not including the frame)?
Which was in your opinion the best drawing tablet you've reviewed on this channel? I'm sry for my English but I'm planning on buying a new drawing tablet and would like to hear some recommendations^^ btw love your art😍😍
I just got a BenQ monitor! Wanted to know what brightness level you use while making art?
Was it little yellowish when you turn it for the first time? All the modes were yellowish on mine. Is that normal???
I just got this monitor and am excited to use it in my artist setup!
You said you've reviewed tablets before too, which one do you like the best or mainly work on??
Hey how is tour experience with this monitor maan?
Will the monitor deliver power to a macbook while connected and in use?
nice review!
Thanks 😚 Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Nadiaxel Hi, I do some art channel as well. can you check it? Btw how did they sponsor you? Can you teach me. :)
Your hair has its own identity. It’s like a spy, it has a different disguise every video.😂
Hello. Excellent video, very clear for me. I just bought this great screen to replace my 12-year-old Apple Cinema Display. As an amateur photographer I find myself confronted with many possibilities of adjustments which are new for me. However, I have a problem: The only way to connect the screen to my Mac Mini is the HDMI and USB port, DP is not there. I always used to leave my Mac in STANDBY and reactivate it with the space key on the keyboard. It doesn't work anymore. The keyboard is connected to the display's USB port which is connected to it via HDMI and USB to the Mac. Do you have any idea to solve this problem. Thank you in advance and good day. Frank S.
Can't this monitor be connected to mac mini with hdmi to hdmi cable?.and do u still face problems with your mac mini with this monitor?
Did you have to do any upscaling on windows for this monitor?
what is the model number of the 24 inch monitor of the exact variant?
Does 4k happen with 60 hz or 30 hz in the Benq ?
hey we have the same Mercy figure, but mine started falling off its stand D:
Woah first and i love it😍
Yay thank you ♥
Hey Nadi... a small advice - buy a portable phone tripod. It will stabilize your shots and make your videos look more pro (that you definitely are). Most of them have adjustable lengths for their legs. And since they're very light, you can also smoothly drag them and give the effect of a panning shot that I see you wanted to do while you were reviewing the monitor. Hope I wasn't offensive. And thank you for the video.
Great video - I'm very very interested in purchasing this monitor...plus my son's name is Ben...
Finally im.here early! I want one like that
I want a second one xD time to save up some moneeehhhhhh 👌💦
@@Nadiaxel yess time to save up hehe i need too myself
How is the blacks on this monitor?
Damn det er en lækker skærm.
Det må være super lækkert at have en skærm der er så farve ægte. Der er ret vildt hvor stor forskel der er på dine to skærme.
Eye strain: check for "flicker" in your monitor. Many screens, even expensive ones use "PWM" to reduce the brightness. It means below 100% backlight, they flicker, usually at 250 Hz. Just search for your Samsung screen with Google, and probably you will find out if it has PWM or not. What I like in many Benq screens is that they use 0 Hz or flicker free technology to reduce the brightness.
Fantastic review with a very beautiful and talented woman. I am ordering my own now...Thank you.
woman or monitor?
Tell me your experience maan?
Can I ask what is the height of the screen not including the bezel? Thankyou so much.
Just the screen-area?? I measured the height to 34,2 cm. The screen is 27" 😚
@@Nadiaxel Thankyou : -)
I own a monitor like that. But when I look at the horizontal edges of the screen, it looks blurry, especially when being on a white page.
The only solution I found was reducing the horizontal resolution from 3840 to 3802, which also reduces the bit rate from 10-bit to 8-bit.
Does anyone else have this issue too?
nice video
can i buy this in 2023 for my cartoon animation work and editing
would a 4k 144hz IPS gaming monitor with sRGB 100 % , Adobe RGB, 87 % DCI-P3 87 % , be good for digital art? also is Delta E certified
Yes... But it really depends what kind of digital art.. For web art anf print art.. 100% sRgB and adobe Rgb is perfect
Guys is it worth it ? I'm a photographer I had an lg 4k ultrafine but it stopped working
whats your Samsung monitor model is?
This is what I do at almost 3:AM
Hahahaha omg get some sleep dude 💦
3:51AM here now hahaha
Nice video
I want to ask you one thing
I m confuse in
Samsung view infinity S8 27 inch
Vs
Benq 27 PD2700U
My work
Video photo editing
Cartoon animation
Design
Please suggest me one
Can i buy samsung or benq only
Did you cop with benq? Samsung aint that good with monitors I guess
1:45 BenQ was so nice to include a handle but you still picked it up by the screen T_T
Am man I am complementing which display tablet I should get. I think I save for an critic 13 after all
Personally I sold mine for a ipad pro. And it was the best decision for myself because I hated how I never got the cursor aligned with the pen... drawing was becoming frustrating since I couldn't take it with me... and the alignment was getting worse over a time of 6 months. Now I have the ipad and I use it everyday 😍 . Hope I gave you some insight in what to do
Only criticism is that you didn't tell us which samsung, samsung also makes high end monitors for creatives. Sounds like your Samsung monitor is for media/games and not professional work.
Also you need to install the icc profile for the monitor to get the fully calibrated image, you didnt mention if you did this. Calibration also changes so you might want to invest in a spyder.
Does the benQ have a white version to this monitor ?
As in a white color? I don't know ;w;
you have such beautiful accent!
3:18 I swear I saw that coming :D
SSHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh......... 👀💦
@@Nadiaxel :D :D
Hello, there. I am a Graphic designer and editor. Is there any other monitor better than Benq pd2700q in its price range?
2700q? I was about to go for it as a 2k resolution is great enough here but they have older HDMI ports for some reasons and the bezels are thicker. I don't know why Benq made this choice in this time when monitors6and Tvs are all going 4k,bezel less and HDMI 2.1
Hmm, PD2700Q is $150 cheaper, I think I'm going to get it instead of this PD2700U in this review.
Where is the animated intro ? :) And you should juggle between unboxing and art ,this is awesome, also that BenQ has slimmer bezels
I was too scared of her XDD hahaha! And thank you, I'm glad you like the different kind of video content ^-^
@@Nadiaxel I mean that was a good tip like there are a lot of monitors which are costlier but not color accurate, this video was like, hey there is a cheap one which has a slight edge on price as well as color accuracy than the costlier one, thanks for the vid Nadi ☺️
Looks great! Maybe it's time to go 4K. But listen, it's totally unfair to compare the BenQ to the old Samsung! Thank you for the review :-)
I buying this monitor today anddddd..Do you use this CDs?
How is your experience with this monitor
Up in america at 1:51 am, thank you for different time zones, i was getting bored, now im not
Ahahaha always happy to supply ♥️💕
@@Nadiaxel I would like to say that your artwork is awesome and has re-inspired me to get back into art, great job by the way.
love u
No ARGB %?
Bought this monitor recently, but I find at monitor edge, text look like it's 'floating' on top of the back panel when viewed at a angle, but it's perfectly fine viewing from the front. Is it normal? Example ua-cam.com/video/WYKeBaXyYZA/v-deo.html
I just cheked and its the same on mine - so yea, on this monitor I suppose its normal! I think its just shadow from the small gap between the outer screen and the inner screen that we can see. So it looks like the text is floating because of it. But I must admit I don't view my monitor from such an extreme angle. I only noticed it because I saw your comment xd
@@Nadiaxel thanks for checking and letting me know, i guess is more like a 'features' rather than a defect ! by the way, you channels is great, keep up the good work!
Oh no I want this ;_;
am i the only one wanting to see her overwatch gameplay lol im a mercy main too
Hey Nadi! Remember me? Love ya 💕
Thank you for coming back ehehe xD ♥️
Nadiaxel Of course! Your videos are the best! ❤️❤️
I was like what potato camera did she switch to? And then you say it yourself lol :^)
The only downside of this monitor is that its not DCI-P3 color gamut. Otherwise great monitor.
I'm not even technically good enough to know what that means xD
@@Nadiaxel it's just colour space like sRGB, Adobe RGB etc. Just shows how much of color spectrum is covered.
Btw @nadiaxel are you still using your monitor? Thoughts after 1 year?
If you have slightly bigger budget you think it is worth to buy this one instead BenQ 27” 4K PD2720U
not an apple to apple comparision. BenQ is IPS whereas samsung is VA panel. There is a huuge difference :D
it's really is affordable for branded 4k ips HDR,
but for digital painter and illustrator? mhmmmmm.........
you don't need HDR, it's ruining your value, lighting and colors, unless you're video editor who engage in HDR content.
dont need work mode either, same reason as above, low light great for revit and sketchup tho.
IPS is optional, unless you're force to work on very uncomfortable viewing eagle, ???
just keep in mind all of these doesn't make one a better artist, but at least your screen got properly calibrated, which matter most if you work on the professional level, but once again if you're casual artist, getting this monitor will just be waste of money, unless you got bucks to spare.
mostly only professionals use calibrated screen, casual art patron and followers doesn't really have calibrated screen, let alone industry grade calibration, on top of one lack understanding of light and colors.
do yourself a favor and enroll on online art course or buy tutorial, it's much better investment.
cheers,
Honestly, the HDR part used to be true, but nowadays these manufacturers just slap on that "HDR compatible!" sticker on their monitor even if it just barely meets the minimal requirements, but it's never a focus at this price range. Just marketing garbage, so it doesn't really add to the price, but I do recommend disabling it.
Which monitor would you guys recommend for a painter/illustrator?
What monitor do you recommend then which have better color output and is also for gaming?
Hi
An epic comment!!!
(Now pin my comment.....)
Potato bideo and sound still convincing.
i wish i could do art as a job instead of coding.. fucking god i hate coding.
photo editing with only 70 % Adobe RGBs ? are you kidding, this is for amateurs :)
what are you talking about? you still using Samsung as main monitor because you seating in front of it.
DO NOT purchase BenQ! My PD2700U died after 30 days and BenQ won’t cover it...I purchased 3 of them and this is how they treat me. Absolutely terrible customer service!
Your review is terrible .
You did not even once try to measure the brightness / color gamut or accuracy of the monitor .
You did not even try to check the backlight bleed .
All you did is just read through the specs sheet and marketing blurbs and blindly pass it without verifying it with tests .
Well , at least you tried to compare it to the other monitor , I guess ?
You can’t test a monitor accurately without a Mac.
Typical Mac groupie. PC blows Mac away every time.
