Wanted to leave a small note of thanks for this review and recommendation. This display in 2021 is worth every penny! Just got it and its spectacular. As a reference monitor I have a second BenQ SW270C which is a newer model, but this is right up there. Out of the box the colours are brilliant and both match to perfection in srgb. Top notch. Thankyou!

This video just came up in my recommended 3 months after buying the 27" version. I'm just a hobby photographer, no professional, and i can confirm this monitor is fantastic. Lifting it out of the huge box it felt quality, the weight. And the colours are amazing, beautiful. The first image i opened from my lightroom catalogue blew me away, pin sharp. The one thing i found hard getting used to was the monitor software Display Pilot. Lots of options to customise settings to your preference but i found the factory presets perfect. Matched with a 10bit card you can't go wrong.

This is great, thanks for the in-depth review! Having an even lower budget options would be fantastic. Especially one that I can shift into a different purpose down the line if I upgraded to one of the really good ones for coloring. For instance, a low budget one now that I can move into the GUI or scopes in the future. Just thinking about the size and specs that would fit that situation ideally. Anyway, thanks again!

Great analysis on the monitor. I have this monitor and I absolutely love It. I was thinking of getting a monitor arm to hook it up with another monitor. My question is(two parts 🙏🏾). 1. What other monitor would you recommend (I’m looking for a 24”) to use as a viewing monitor for PP. 2. What monitor are you using for your BenQ? Thank you so much.

Thanks for this. Have been thinking about getting a monitor for a while now. Interesting in Australia that the 32 inch model is A$1,299 and the 27 inch model is A$849. That's a more significant price difference than what is happening in the US, unless that has changed since May.

This review helped me make a decision tonight. I’m a photographer that’s looking to step up to a color accurate monitor, I was hesitant about the flickering issue. But looking more into it that was on earlier models and the 2020+ models have the updated firmware that’s fixed the issue. I was torn between this or a Eizo ColorEdge CS2731. Hopefully I made the right decision.

I have one question please. I am doing photo editing and I am using one 24" monitor. I am comfortable with one monitor and I think of buying one 32" Benq PD3200U, so the question is, do I need two 27" monitors instead? I have free place for two 27" monitors or one 32". I am too very close to the monitor on 60 cm distance.

I wondered if you might help me get the gear I need. Happy to pay you. I wondered basically if this monitor is still good. I use a rubbish Samsung tv monitor about ten years old. I use after effects / vegas (soon to change to premier pro) but I also need some help in choosing a new PC. I perceive big diminishing returns once you go past a certain point. Im using a ten year old i7 quad core with a really bad graphics card which is struggling.

THANK YOU, very much for your monitor review. I have to say that by you using 3 monitors for video editing, then it is not fair to say that it is a pro monitor when you combine it with others. A longer curved monitor would be much better than the 3 you have. Because at the end of the day, the price of all your 3 monitors has to count.

If you don't need 4k go for the BenQ PD2700Q (IPS Panel) or PD3200Q (VA Panel). Great monitors for the price and easier on older eyes.
You lose the 4k and KVM, SD card reader oh and the USB ports are 2.0. But they are a bargain on new ( if you can find them ) market let alone used.
I have 2 on my main rig and one at the studio. Also bought one for a friend who's DELL monitor had developed a fault.

Thank you, been struggling with this for a good year. I do not care if it is a 2019 version. Makes no difference.

What do you think about a lg 34inch 3440-1440 monitor vs this for editing, how much clarity is enough clarity , will that be a better option because it gives you a wider workspace?

I'm about to buy the BenQ but I wanna know how's the local dimming light and backlight?
I also love to fly in simulator (I'm not a gamer),
    Is it good enough?
    Thanks!

Many thanks for your videos, very helpful. I just bought the 2k BenQ PD3200Q monitor. I am editing videos (drone videos) and picutres (mostly 360 panoramas and virtual tours) as a hobby and wondering if I would also need the 4k version? Your adivse would be very much appreciated. Many thanks

Whats your opinion on the Viewsonic VP2785-4k with USB type c or the Viewsonic VP3268-4K?? I Know there more expensive but as monitors alone which would you say is the best for photo and video editing?

great review and I am currently in the market for a monitor but I don't only just do video editing I also would like a faster refresh like at least 144 hz. Any recommendations that still don't shoot me up to 1500 dollars and does not compromise on the color

I love the features especially being able to work across 2 computers with the same peripherals. Is it ok to switch between a Mac and PC with this setup? Also is there any concern with the 27” model being an LCD? Amazon lists it as such. Not sure if that’s accurate. Great video!

If it's a PD2700U model then it should be IPS and it's amazon's bug. :)

Does this monitor need to calibrate using a calibration device such as Spyder X Pro..etc to give you the exact colors you will get when you print your photos on paper?

do you think the 27" is still also a good buy? Knowing the difference are the ports and 32" having a DCI-P3 and puck ,Thanks!

Yes, I do. If I'd buy one again, I'd buy the 27' :)

@@theTechNotice Interesting. I am caught between the 27 and 32. Bit of a dilemma. 32 great but ppi too large and you have to sit so far away that scaling necessary. 27 too small for 4k, needs scaling! I think QHD is actually the best middle ground. Beginning to think 4k is a waste of time. Let alone 8K! It all feels like a - dare I say it - conspiracy to buy consumer goods that you don't actually need/offer any further utility. 2k is the sweet spot - bang for buck as it were. Sorry for rambling post.
