Most comprehensive review I've seen of this monitor. Ordered two yesterday - seeing this review makes me not regret my decision! Keep up the great work.
This is the best review I seen for long time. I really like thats its fair and here on BenQ Europe with Pros and Cons. I Really like the brand more and more. Bought a PD2700Q wich is fantastic! I will by a second PD2700U for Musicproduktion on another Desk.
Great review, thanks... I've read that some copies seem to have screen bleed, mostly at the corners and sometimes the bottom edge after about 2 years, I have seen similar comments about other models and brands, I guess other brands could have the same panel. Is this is an issue that all monitors at this price point may have? Do higher-end monitors have similar issues over time?
What do you think about the color uniformity of the panel? I also bought the same monitor, and I returned it because the left side of the panel was warmer in terms of color temperature than the right side of the panel.
8:36 Brightness uniformity! Although a uniformity correction circuit is not advertised for the model PD2700U, both by my bare eyes and by my measurement with Datacolor SpyderX Pro, I believe that PD2700U has a uniformity correction feature. Strangely, sRGB mode engages uniformity correction, and other picture modes do not. Is it by design that only sRGB mode among many picture modes engages uniformity correction in PD2700U? Or is the PD2700U I purchased defective in terms of uniformity correction feature? Measurement result is below. I double checked uniformity of Low Blue modes in a completely dark room, and the percentage result is almost the same. Picture mode: right lower corner brightness in percentage referenced to center brightness (center brightness) sRGB: 105.5% (127) Low Blue Multimedia: 77.9% (181) Low Blue Web Surfing: 78.5% (173) Low Blue Office: 76.8% (155) Low Blue Reading: 76.5% (132)
Thanks for posting this, ive been looking for a quality monitor for photo editing,. You say that it can support two pcs, could this also be a pc and a mac mini?
Great review :) Quick question - my monitor arrived today. The top right and left corners are brighter against bright colors (white, blue, yellow, etc ). It's really small, and really weird. Like there is a bit more light coming from top left and right. It doesn't appear on blacks, so it's not traditional backlight per se, but I can see it on light grays and any light hue. Is this worth a repair? Thanks !
Great review, really helped me to choose that screen, and I'm very satisfied, Please your advice, I'm a photographer too. I wonder what is the best way to work with the screen options that will fit to my photo editing and sometimes watching 4k movies. windows offer an option to set it to HDR but then I can't change the screen mode. thanks.
Hello Hugo! very good review. I have a query to ask you, I have this monitor and I want to calibrate it to use with the davinci resolve and make color grading in rec 709. I have the xrite pro plus to calibrate the monitor. Great Review! Thank You. Do you need an Nvidia or AMD Pro Graphic card to take advantage of the 10-bit display? Will I lose the advantage of a 10-bit screen with a consumer 1060 gtx Graphic card? hmm..
Hello I have been doing research for monitors for awhile now... Does this monitor have a high range of AdobeRGB a long with all of the other color ranges? If so how much and are there any other monitors around this price similar or better than this one that are being sold by BenQ with a focus on color accuracy? I want the monitor for photo editing, animation, and video editing with a focus on photo editing.

Brightness and white uniformity of my PD2700U is quite good at sRGB mode, but not good at any of the four low blue light mode. However, such a non-uniformity is what we expect at this price.
Hey. Just found your video. Really amazing review. Hands down. I am looking to buy my first photo monitor. I really love this one. However watching the other series of benq too, like sw2700pt, sw270c, pd2705. I dont want to spend a lot of money, if i dont need to. Any similarity between this and the sw series? Thx
Just bought this bad boy, the only thing that I'm not able to understand is that my monitor is bleeding from the top corners and it's a brand new monitor. 😅 I'm very disappointed
@@shivamtak171ulia I'd suggest you get the 2K version rather than the 4K as i still don't find any usecase for 4k as of right now. But yeah this is very good for editing. You'd suffer from Light bleeding so yeah. It's a really good monitor tbh though. Best in class i think.
Are there versions of this monitor in different countries with varying bezel sizes? Looking at this on Amazon in France at the moment and the bezel looks much thicker than what's shown here
Hi sir this is bunny, i want to buy hot key puck GEN 2, may i know where it's available for benq pd2700u, will u please guide me in availing this hot key puck for this benq pd2700u , recently bought it 2 weeks back......Thank u..!
I ordered this monitor and noticed some pretty obvious vignetting on the sides (checked it with some other people who are not neccesarily trained to see that, but even they could). It seems like the panel itself sits a little deeper (talking millimeters) in the casing of this monitor, so in my case I really had to sit quite some distance from it to loose the vignetting. The monitors I have at work do not have this at all, so it seems something particular which could even be my individual unit. Since i'd like to have them as dual setup I couldn't really live with this issue. Other than that, I really liked the build quality and looks of the monitor. Does anyone else notice this vignetting? Thinking if I should order another PD2700U and hope for the best, or just order a totally different brand.
Hello Hugo Guerra @Hugo's Desk! I'm planning to buy this monitor in december, and I saw that it also features AMD FreeSync Technology on this site: www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/f9d915e7. Recently had a RMA on a monitor, the repair center has no parts, phoned cusotmer services, they mentioned a replacement monitor, no stock idea of stock, said they will email me, still waiting.
Hello! I bought this monitor, which generally is good, but here’s one issue: the horizontal edges (next to the bezels) look blurry. The only way to correct things was by reducing the horizontal resolution from 3840 to 3802 (Nvidia menu), but that also drops the bit rate from 10-bit to 8-bit. Does anyone else have this issue?
