Wow 😳😳😳 when you started this video the birds was singing it sounded like a jungle. The birds sound so beautiful and cheerful. Thank you for sharing this information with us. I hope you have a wonderful week. Much ❤
We haven't seen any hummingbirds using our fountain, though we did see a dove. The other day, I was watering, and a hummingbird was flying around. So I kept the hose still he/she started flying around it, washing itself, drinking from it. Then it did the most curious thing. It started "running" on the water as if it were a treadmill!!! 😍😁👍
I enjoy how you explain things. Everything seems so much easier when you share information. Sometimes other channels make things seem difficult or almost impossible. I went out 2 days ago searching for some flowers for the 1 hummingbird I have left. There were mainly only mums. However, I found 1 lonely celosia plant in the clearance section. I purchased that and a few clearance mums and put them in a wheelbarrow under 1 of the feeders. Thank you for all you and Gary share.
I only have one hummingbird left also and most of my flowers have stopped producing new blooms except for my zinnias. They are producing a few new blooms, but not many. I plan on planting more next year.
I have got to watch hummingbirds take baths this year. It's exciting to see them enjoy them. I put my fountains up every winter because I am afraid they will tear up when it gets freezing weather. I always leave 2 bird baths out during the winter, with heaters in them so the birds have water, and of course the squirrels and other critters enjoy them too lol. Thank you for posting this video! ❤😊😊❤
Howdy Robbie and Zoe!👋 How cute that there was a hummer in the background checking out what you were doing. It probably wanted to be the first to the new fountain.😄 Love this fountain and the knowledge you shared!👍💕
As my hummers head down for their fall migration [East Coast, SC here] I LOVE seeing the mockingbirds & finches enjoy my fountain! [My fountain idea that I got from you years ago!!!] You are a gem. Thank you for continuing to make these videos.
We have yellow jackets that drink from our bird baths. It really makes it hard to clean them. I do have one fountain that they seem to like the most. There are usually 15 to 20 yellow jackets on it, so, it never gets cleaned until after dark. I am very allergic to them, so the fear of getting stung is awful.
Robbie , I'm planning to make a solar powered pump bird bath ; thanks for posting the idea and the instructions for building a solar powered pump bird bath !!!!
Thank you Robbie! I just realized I had an oval crockpot I don’t use! So I am going to use that and put it inside a good size tall flower pot that only full of dirt. All I need to do is gather up the rocks! I bought an inexpensive plug in pump as I wanted it my shady garden. We are all good to go! I see your bees like it too. Thanks a million Robbie!
Robbie ty for the solar kit pump link. I ordered another one from your link. This time they already had my info. All I had to do was confirm . So easy. I will try this fountain .So simple. Ty.
Thank you for another great video. That particular hat looks lovely on you. We got rain and a 50* temp drop for a minute down to 60* from the recent 100s here in south Texas. 🦎🐦🐞🦋🐝
Thank you for all the great information and encouragement. I’m in the process now of looking for a battery or rechargeable fountain, since I’m north facing and direct sunlight won’t come back until February. I was looking forward to my creepers using the fountain until I saw them taking a dirt bath in one of my containers with only soil in it 😂 They were having a grand old time!
The pumps can't run dry. I found one on Amazon that is round and the solar panels on right on the fountain. The whole thing floats and i put in large a ceramic bowl. I love it. I think i paid $12. for it. It's about 12 inches in diameter. The only drawback is you can't have the water shooting up too high or you will run dry. I adjusted it a couple of times until i got it right.
Hi Robbie, I do love my Pulaco USB fountain, however, the birds are not using it. It is next to feeders that get used regularly, it has a perch, rocks, all the tips you've suggested. But.... no use.... I keep it up anyway and keep the powerbank plugged in all day before sunrise and usually after sunset.
rocio I have the same problem. My fountain is next to the feeders because I have a sm apt. Balcony. Like u I leave it up anyway. I use a USB also. I get sun between 3:00 to 5:00 . So I have to have a USB I order to have it on more. The only thing the pump makes a buzzing sound don’t no if that scares the birds away.
I have made one for my deck, I have the feeder hanging off the deck but no hummingbirds or other birds have come. Is it too close to the house? I also have a feeder with jelly on the deck.
@Robbie : hi , Robbie , you know those cut flower food packets to keep cut flowers fresh ; are they okay to throw the flower food into your raised beds soil for soil amendment !!!!????
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy you in southern Cal :) :) we have beautiful sunny days below freezing - I guess I just need to watch when the water freezes slightly (over night) and then pull the pump before its totally frozen.
I always love seeing what you plan to create with the bird baths
More coming 😊 Thank you ❤

The best advice! When the animals know and trust you, you will be much more successful at introducing new foods, baths etc.!

You convinced me how easy it is to set up a fountain so I bought 3. Now I want to find some deep pretty bowls.

Finally attracted scrub jays thanks to the fountains 😊 Gonna tweak them for the humming birds that have stayed. Thanks for the info 🙂

Does bowl need cleaning daily? Clean water daily? Don't want birds get sick.
If clean, twice a week ❤

Make sure there is someplace for a bird to stand on, and try a potted plant next to it, I will get into more tricks soon ❤
Thanks! There are rocks and a perch to stand and there are bushes next to it. @@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy

@@janeknight5070 interesting. Thanks for sharing. My pump is super quiet. The only sound is the falling water. It sound beautiful.

After 3 years I’m still waiting for the hummingbirds to use my solar fountain. The goldfinches get a drink and the catbirds love to splash in it.
Hi Robbie, why are my birds not coming to my bubblers? I made 2 tumbler type bubblers and no birds approach them. No curiosity or anything. ! ☹️

The pumps are not frost proof though, I assume.
I don’t know about the frost, if it will hurt it, but at that point, it’s not gonna run anyways if it’s not sunny.

It runs back in the bowl 😊
