    I just boil it for 15-20 minutes in regular water. If I want it to have a crispier texture then I'll air fry it for 10 minutes to dry it out a bit then cook it according to my recipe ❤

      Ooh boiling it sounds like boiling meat to remove impurities before cooking it. But in this case you cook the briny taste out of the jackfruit.

    I love jackfruit! I did the rinse-rinse-rinse then the stovetop cooking method then broiled it in the oven with jerk seasoning..BAY- BAY!!!!!!

    Oh man, I need to give jackfruit another shot now that you showed me this! I also had no idea the seeds should be removed. I ALWAYS end up throwing away my failed attempts. 🤮 Thanks sister-friend! 🤍🤍🤍

      The seeds can be boiled or roasted re.ove the skin either crushed it ir blend thwm. Used the way uou usedd potatoes. I won't be doing all that i love jackfruit i eat it raw or in smoothies. 😊❤🇯🇲

      Yes you're right maybe it's because the barbecue sauce covered up the case I'm not sure but yes it's on point as far as jackfruit concern😅😊❤. Her skin is lovely

      Have you tried to eat them when they aren’t ripped?? It’s one of those fruits that gets worse as it starts to ripe

    I squeeze it out before boiling it with seasoning. Let it cool, squeeze it again, takes the taste out for me.

      @@lanalana-lf5nj hey honestly they all taste yummy just search up Sri lankan jackfruit curry. All the recipes are flavourful so pick one that you think is easy or may easily get the ingredients! Hope that helps!

    I went vegan a few months back and I loved it but I would use the canned jackfruit and girl yes that brine taste is so why!!!! I've boiled for over and over hours and still the taste. I'll try this way once I fully go back still eating meat atm. I'm really wanting to make some Puerto Rican pernil or Haitian Griot. God bless 🇯🇲❤️🇯🇲❤️

    I usually boil it 1 hr then rinse boil another 1hr as I got from another YTber, but your way seems more convenient.😩

    The Jackfruit that I used to buy at Trader Joe’s, which they no longer sale did have a bit of a brine taste but the one at Wegmans was amazing! I made some bomb vegan Jackfruit pulled pork sandwiches that even my kids loved!

    I have never had jackfruit from a can… so it seems really weird to me. It looks so different than fresh jackfruit.. can this thing be done when it is fresh?

    Oh no.. that's wayy too much trouble girl.. just rinse well. And boil 3 times.. eat the seeds. Just chop them up. Then squeeze out and use however you want.. perfection..

    I just rinse it a bit and don't feel any weird taste. I cook it right after rinsing, in a curry for example... 🤔

    I've never tried canned jackfruit. The fresh one is one of my fave fruits though and they're everywhere. People just eat them raw over here so it's mind boggling to see this video.

    Don’t throw the seeds away! You can boil them for an hour and then eat them. All parts of jackfruit are edible except the skin.

      No, you wouldn’t have a brine taste with fresh jackfruit but you’ll have to work on reducing the sweet taste of it to make it savory.

    I stopped eating meat about 1 year ago. It was so frustrating to find good meat alternatives. None of them tasted like meat, but only looked like meat. So whenever I make something, I cook everything with liquid smoke and BBQ sauce 😂

      Agree! I’ve never had it from a can, only had real fresh jackfruit or the crunchy dried jackfruit chips. Both are delicious!

    Boil is in water so any saltiness will undergo osmosis the salt will move out of the jackfruit and the water will go in
