Here’s a fretboard tip: use baby oil. What? Baby oil?? Yes, it’s 100% mineral oil with some fragrance added and that’s it. There’s arguably nothing better for your fretboards longevity

My favorite guitars ever are my 1966 Duo-Sonic II's in Olympic white. Simple, uncomplicated and great to play. I like what you did to this Squier. You basically turned it into a Duo-Sonic II. The body may be too thin to add a push-pull pot or even larger nicle-sized pots. Great video.

Hi! Have you used adapter bushing to mount vintage tuners? Does the spacing between the vintage klusons match the spacing between the stock tuners?
Thank you for the video! I really liked your work on modifying Squier! The sound is out of phase, by the way, that's cool. I made a phase switch on the middle on my strat. I'm a big fan of Steve Albini and I know that in Big Black he used sound out of phase on his guitars. I also plan to buy a mustang bullet and modify it in a similar way. In cheap guitars, the most important thing is that the neck is straight and the truss rod is in good condition. Everything else is not so critical, especially with fuzz =)

You really should shim the neck. Leo Fender designed offset guitars to have a slight pitch-back to the neck. I don't understand the physics of it, but I know from personal experience that it makes a big difference with intonation.

    • @DestroyingAmpsGearDemos

Hey. Its a while since I made the video, but I would think it would be either standard or perhaps some parts in drop d. Which sounds like what you are describing. Basically you tune the low e to d . This allows an easy bar chord.

Hey dude, I hope you see this, but I did what many forums said was impossible. I fit a mustang vibrato on my bullet! Many said that it is too shallow of a guitar to be able to route out. But, Fender routes about 3mm deeper than they need to, which means that you can fit a vibrato on with about 4ish mm to spare. If you feel adventurous enough, it is totally worth it. It was my first time doing a route, but the vibrato plate is very forgiving as far as mistakes are concerned. It is too much fun. So, after adding the vibrato, tinting the neck, and adding a perloid pickguard, my surf green bullet looks and plays amazingly! I got the guitar itself on sale for $100 USD, and put in about $50 USD into it. Additionally, if anybody know a way to wire two slide switches as kill switches along with the three way toggle that would be greatly appreciated.
