Okay hoping I can get some help here before I run off to Reddit… I got a 2015 Fender Jaguar HH I guess it is and you can split the pickups, whatever, it’s got the trem that is closer to the bridge than the vintage spec Jags and my break angle looks good, action doesn’t feel to high… but for the life of me I can’t intonate the thing… it’s super noticeable when I play an open chord, like yesterday I was playing C with the tuner on the headstock and my C was like pretty sharp. I wasn’t grabbing too hard, tested that. Can someone please point me in the right direction before I buy a bunch of shit I don’t need, like I said, plays fine but just is not intonated correctly

Got a Squier 70s Jag 4 days ago. Didn’t spend a cent on it, just gave it a proper set up. It feels, plays and performs every bit as good as my American Deluxe V Neck Strat.

"Sustain" is the 2nd-most needlessly overused term in the electric guitar world. The stock bridge does not need to be replaced. And you sacrificed intonation when you went with three saddles instead of six (which have worked just fine on the Strat for 70 years). As for it being a Duosonic, no. Obviously the Duosonic is not a proper offset body like the Mustang is. This is a Mustang. And Fender makes lots of Mustangs that are non-traditional. So what?

Excellent talk on the subject of setting up the bridge on a Jaguar ish offset.. I have a Jaguarillo I've had now since 2012 and my bridge is set up just as you described it, shim and all. It is a beautiful thing once you understand how it is meant to be. I did go to a Staytrem bridge years ago as I feel it is a very superior bridge compared to the original. My Jag has a 9.5 radius neck and the bridge is made with the same 9.5 radius. About the only place I differ from your advice is string gauge.. I use to put heavier strings on it, 11's 12's but I find I really like 9.5's over anything else. It funny but no one told me to set it up like this, (high bridge, shimmed neck ect) it just seemed the right way to get it done.. It plays great, It did take me some research to figure out how to correctly set up the trem lock out button and I don't know where that info went to.. I have a pair of Duncan 59's in it.. Love it. my jaguar came stock with a tune-o-matic bridge and it has that god aweful buzz and part of me wants to replace it with with a stock bridge, but i dont know if that would even be a good idea because the break angle is completely different for the tune-o-matic because there is a shorter distance between the bridge and where the strings connect, would you have any advice in that regard?

erm.. the bridge is fine but you need to shim the neck??? that means it’s not fine. 🤪

I tried shimming and raising action with the stock bridge, strings were still resting on the bridge base or intonation screws. I tried 3 different shim sizes. The American pro bridge was better, but I don't prefer a perfectly matched radius, and the Pro bridge is fixed radius. Also the bridge was so high that the string tension was too much and made bending very difficult.

Mine was so stiff i had to drill the hole almost to the very bottom of the body. I had to sand and polish the tip of the screw on the mute assembly itself.

The mystery mastery bridge maker has made a living out of guitar players and techs not being able to setup and maintain the Fender design. The Mastery is well made but fundamently will not stay in tune without the rocking action. No matter what they claim. Many of the later and knock off trem plates also have the string holes too high , ruining the break angle. This can be corrected if you're clever by reshaping the knife edge.

I acquired a preowned Squier Bass Six in January 2019. Other than possibly filing the nut down on the low E and the B, the main thing I would wish to change on it is that the pickups could be wired hotter to match the output of my other bass guitars (if I didn’t want to replace them with more traditional bass pickups). Since I play it less like a guitar or baritone guitar than like a bass, my own preference would be for it to react more like a bass (without needing to get a bigger amp).

I realize this is 3 years old but if you might remember? Did you say, you just put the new compensated saddles on the stock bridge the guitar came with? I love what you did with it! Bravo, Sir It's the next day. I actually watched the video of you making the bridge. I love it. I have 24" scale hardtail squire strat with that same bridge. I am defineatly putting compensated saddles on mine, I really like the look. Well Done and thanks

Bought SX PB 5 years a go for like todays 120$. Best build quality i seen. All the squiers looks like shit compared to it. Maybe finally i will change the bridge and pickups this year, but mine plays very well.
