I read Don passed away this past August 2021 at age 84 at his home in Nashville. I am 78 years old and grew up listening to the Everly Brothers. My parents had a record player to listen to those that had passed on. We have UA-cam and its like we can turn the clock back and watch those my generation grew up with. Rest In Peace Don and Phil
I just want to write a comment asking if they are still here or not, your comment is on top then I read it and feel so sad, RIP for both of them, thank you for telling us
Two years today since the passing of Don Everly. So sad the world is without the wonderful Everly brothers but thankfully we can still listen to them through the kindness of everyone who put they're music on to Ytube for us.😢
Once again The Everly Brothers are re-united.As sad as I feel,it's a comfort to know that we still have a priceless legacy of heavenly harmonies to cherish...Rest in Peace Don and Phil.
We were so lucky to have had them in our lives I saw them in San Francisco in 1970 at the fillmore and it remains the most memorable show of my life and I saw so.e great ones thanks fellas Brian Moran ny
+sunryse111 Yes, a few later albums that had some great songs on them. I think their music from the 50's and 60's is timeless and hopefully will be enjoyed for generations to come. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, Victor! Jim
@@Espritisback Their guitar playing was outstanding as well. In his memoir, “Life,” Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones acknowledged Don Everly's unparalleled rhythm guitar playing, describing it as the best he had ever heard.
no singers could make it sound like one voice there timing is unbelievable when Don does his solo piece Phil just chimes in without missing a beat incredible thank you Everly Brothers for giving us such brilliant music and were still listening for me 60 years thank you
The Everly Brothers were pure vocal harmony magic. Irreplaceable. in their middle age they even sounded better, using more vibrato totally matching. the 10 year break paid off with mature voices sublime.
Never tire of listening to these great performers. Ive listened to the Everly Brothers since I was a boy growing up in the 60's. Im 63 now and still love to listen to their music.
There has never been anyone, nor will be, like the Everly Brothers. Their music is indeed timeless. For one of their very best watch "Why Worry" with Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins and Michael McDonald. For a dose of reality watch Everly Brothers live 2004. Even in their 60's, 40+ years singing, they never.lost the harmony and Don still played a mean guitar. His last performance, without Phil, from 2014, is also live. As is Wings of a Nightingale and a concert in Melbourne where they have a lot of fun jazzing.up " Little Susie."
I remember when this song came out. I was around 8. I fell in love with it. The Everly Brothers were just great. I was a big fan of Don. They both sang great. Nobody could come close to what they did. Singing, song writing, they were the Greatest. RIP Phil. And thank you both for the music.
I always felt great entertainment to the world was a gift from God to make us happy till our time here is done . The Everly brothers were surely on His short list to make that happen.
The most perfect harmony that has ever existed and ever will exist. I think the reunion concert is the best thing they´ve ever done, beats erveything from the 50´s, 60´s and 70´s.

@@music-is-life4meLOL. I guess that worked back in the 50's and 60's. Here these two look middle age, so that might be hard to do today with both women and men changing the color of their hair all of the time lol? Phil is on the left and older brother Don is on the right.

sad knowing the breakup they had. My brother is 86, I'm 75 and both of us spent the same year in Vietnam (1967) in combat and not one word, NOT ONE angry word between us in all those years.

My Mom is from Shenandoah, Iowa and remembers the Everlys performing on KMA radio. When I hear this song it gives me a mix of emotions; great memories of the time spent with my first love in the 1970s and the pain I felt when I lost her.
Much of the best music of the past century came from talented youngsters from the heartland (what some derisively call "fly-over country") of this great place we call home...The U.S.A.. Love Phil & Don!
They never lost it - two perfect voices which sound even better combined.
