Some of us were very young teenagers growing up with the Everly brothers, we go back a long way. Thanks for your wonderful memories when we hear your songs R.I.P
I am a 72 year old musician. I try not to dwell in the music of the past and listen to everything with an open mind. However, certain artists sounds and feel can never be duplicated. Don & Phil are among those artists. Just fantastic!
The finest duo ever to grace a stage, the songs , the harmonies and style of Don and Phil will never be duplicated . When you hear their distinctive style your thoughts are of the 50s
You are so right , I cannot get over how few or any singers , I have ever listened to over these many years,as a duo, can sing as beautifully as the Everly bothers .
I was 6 years old when they had their first hit. I saw them on TV and they have been my favorite ever since then. Well, they are together again in heaven and I'm sure the angels are enjoying their concert.
Fantastic, sadly unrepeatable, gone forever, heavenly harmonies and talent of the Everlys. Performances such as this are rare and have the power to take the listener to another level of consciousness that feels like spiritual experience.
Here I go again....another new favorite. They sing these two songs straight from the heart; it shows on their faces. Phil's feelings always show on his face, but even Don looks very moved as he sings these songs so beautifully.
Yesterday I cried for hours after learning of Phil's passing. They were my first "favorite artist" and always my favorite duo. "Mary" was the first song I heard of theirs. Both songs are among their best. As many have said, they taught a generation how to sing harmony. It took me 50 years to notice that Phil always stayed a little farther from the mike than Don, so his higher harmony part wouldn't overpower Don's melody. Glad that Phil lived to see the unique tribute of an entire album of theirs (1958 folk collection "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us") being covered, cleverly named "Foreverly" by Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones. Phil was pleased with it. Now Phil is harmonizing in heaven with Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Sam Cook, Otis Redding and so many others we've lost. Prayers to the family.
Simply beautiful. I can't remember the name of the English celebrity who once said Don and Phil were like two crystal birds singing away in a tree. That just about sums the Everly brothers up.
the Everly brothers loved each other shows it on this video must been very sad for both of them when they split up..so happy they got back together..best harmony duet in the whole world...love them..
Tony Simmons Love the feeling and harmony in these songs lucky to have seen them 3 times never forget Phil and Don thanks for the memories my favourite song is So Sad
Two of my favorite songs with The Everlys. And to look at them at the same time.... Almost too much to take in ! I do not believe we will ever hear such a beautiful harmonies again. At least not under my lifetime, I'm 65. That is for sure. How wonderful to listen to them whenever I want to. God bless you all who do this sort of things on UA-cam ! Many thanks !!!
I, too am 65! I grew up loving these guys and many more! Lost my husband over 3 yearssss ago, lost my catlast October and my dog 3 weeks ago! Just love listening to music!
I'm 46 and I was so lucky that my dad took me to see the Everly Brothers when I was only about 12. I was definitely born in the era. Can't beat music back then ❤
I remember watching this in 1983 on TV....I was so in awe, and find I am more in awe now of their harmonies...just incredible they both were together!!!....makes me smile listening to them even now.
After all these years a still get a lump in my throat listening to these two pure God given voices ,which take me back in time. No one comes even close. Pure perfection.Country Ken Gibson.
Truly beautiful voices. Phil Everly and Rick Nelson both had that soft, easy flowing voice that will never be matched again in music history. Both were gorgeous also.
Wonderful, Beautiful Awesome l wish l could have been there, the gorgeous Phil and Don the most handsome guys in the world and the Best voices in the world , they are sadly missed ,RIP you beautiful men ,Devoted To You see you with the Angels I Bless The Day l Found You .My Love Always Paula xxx
God, what can you say. What words can describe this. Just... I don't know, maybe perfection. Or bliss. When Phil passed I sent this video out to my staff, most of whom are much younger than I, because I wanted them to know that a great man had passed, that this wasn't just some celebrity they'd never heard of. One of them, a young lady of 22 who had never heard of them and knew none of their music,.came to me about a half hour later and said it had made her cry the first time she watched it. I said "well then you obviously get it. You know why a lot of us shed tears when we heard the news." The Everly Brothers were diamonds.
I, also, saw the Everlys at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis and it was a real blast.!! It was like being sweet sixteen again and I enjoyed every minute of their performance. I sent them Boutineers to wear and bless is heart, Phil wore his. Always loved him best!!! Great memory.
bob seaman, well I'm 73 now and I still havent heard harmony that comes close to these wonderful guys. In addition to being born the perfect compliment to each other...one could sing harmony like an angel, the other the perfect lead; they had the blessing of being siblings...the voices so similar even down to the same exacts accents. This will never happen again, but werent we blessed that we got to see it all happen?
@Street Roady They didn't "Hate" each other They'd been singing together since they were children, never done anything else and were tired, wanted to try something new. Try singing the same dozen tunes ten thousand times and you might want to quit for a spell.
Phil mirroring Don 1:04these guys were so tuned into each other...amazing. There will never be another two part male vocal pair like these...it simply doesnt get any better
I could listen to them sing Maybe Tomorrow over & over & over again love the way Don puts his heart into his part...the two of them make magic together...
Me too. Saw the brothers twice at Hammersmith Odeon in the 1980s. It seemed surreal to see them on stage. Their voices were better than ever. The all English band they had was exceptional too.
I love how much feeling they put into these songs, especially Maybe Tomorrow. Don's facial expressions shows how much he gets into this song. I can watch this over and over. Just beautiful!!
I am from Ireland so we didn't have much radio then but I remember them singing Cathy clown iam now 75 and have connected with them again I sit and listen to them at night they make me cry with happiness god bless them ❤️
They truly had the voices of angels, perfect harmony and I love the way they looked at each other when they were singing so much love between two brothers
I remember seeing The Everly Brothers at The Fox Theatre in St. Louis back in 1986. What wonderful memories I have enjoying great music that is still great today!
I’m having goosebumps and crying while watching these icons. It’s incredible that after all these years their voice is still the same. They will be terribly missed. RIP Phil and Don, angels singing in heaven.
Love the communication here. At timestamp 1:04, Don touches his tie to signal that Phil's tie is crooked. Phil immediately adjusts his tie, and they never lose a note or miss a beat. Two hearts, two minds, two voices, one soul. Indescribably beautiful.
Some of us were very young teenagers growing up with the Everly brothers, we go back a long way. Thanks for your wonderful memories when we hear your songs R.I.P
I have been listening to the Everlys for 55 years, and I'm still totally amazed and impressed by their harmonies.
That radiant smile that passes between them when they hear their own perfection is worth a million dollars...
I absolutely love how they look into each others eyes
I am a 72 year old musician. I try not to dwell in the music of the past and listen to everything with an open mind. However, certain artists sounds and feel can never be duplicated. Don & Phil are among those artists. Just fantastic!
They will never be duplicated as they had a very distinctive sound with perfect harmonies. RIP Don & Phil you’ll always be my No 1. Brilliant 🎉
They never get enough credit for their contributions to rock and roll.
Not just the 50s - some of their best work was in the 60s. And they did go on and on performing until about 2005.
Probably the best concert I've ever seen. A wonderful example of the unique brotherly chemistry and talent of Don and Phil.
Here we have a little bit of heaven on earth. Thank you.
Oh, this as close you get outside of heaven.
What can I say magical beautiful voices there will never be a duo ever again like the everly brothers l love their music it will never die
True, they had the hamonies only brothers could have
These guys were great , never to be replaced.
I was 6 years old when they had their first hit. I saw them on TV and they have been my favorite ever since then. Well, they are together again in heaven and I'm sure the angels are enjoying their concert.
I miss them so much. These harmonies make an old man cry.
Oh my oh my .............. Can't say no more!!!
Fantastic, sadly unrepeatable, gone forever, heavenly harmonies and talent of the Everlys. Performances such as this are rare and have the power to take the listener to another level of consciousness that feels like spiritual experience.
So,so pretty! They look happy and it comes out in the beautiful music.
Here I go again....another new favorite. They sing these two songs straight from the heart; it shows on their faces. Phil's feelings always show on his face, but even Don looks very moved as he sings these songs so beautifully.
They looked so happy to be back together, after a 10year hiatus, and so were we,
Yesterday I cried for hours after learning of Phil's passing. They were my first "favorite artist" and always my favorite duo. "Mary" was the first song I heard of theirs. Grew up loving these wonderfully talented boys. Still bring tears to me eyes!
They’re voices are just pure gold
Simply beautiful.
I can't remember the name of the English celebrity who once said Don and Phil were like two crystal birds singing away in a tree.
That just about sums the Everly brothers up.
I come to UA-cam every day lately just to listen to this song Maybe Tomorrow...
+Faye Tedesco Me too, just love Take a Message to Mary
I can't express how brilliant I think the Everlys are!

Beide hatten für sich alleine schon so wunderschöne
Stimmen.😊😊😊
So wunderschön wie sie auch aussahen❤❤
love it when they hit that first line of "Maybe Tomorrow "
One of my favourite Evs songs their music was the soundtrack to my life growing up as a kid in those wonderful unforgettable years.
They never ever lost it...Thank You God for letting them be a major part of our lives.
The looks they have between them are filled with total love and respect and the old animosity has been put to rest

Hate is a harsh word....they had differences but didn't hate each other...

“Maybe Tomorrow” is such a sad, plaintive song. The harmonies are beyond amazing. It’s wonderful to hear it done live.
So glad i got too see them twice
Me too. Saw the brothers twice at Hammersmith Odeon in the 1980s. It seemed surreal to see them on stage. Their voices were better than ever. The all English band they had was exceptional too.

I can't describe my admiration for them. I think it's God who sings through their voices...

A true pioneer with a golden voice now accompanied by golden harps.
Maybe Tomorrow--so beautiful it hurts. Or maybe it's because they'll never sing it again.
Perfection !
Still have to say this is fantastic video. Can't just top watchin it! Wonderful!
Don will turn 71 tomorrow. Congratulations!
Got to agree. Wish we had more of this now, not the X-factor and US/GB Got talent rubbish,
I could (and do) listen to this for days!
Two beautiful Songs of the fabulous Everly Brothers.
That transition from Take a Message to Mary to Maybe Tomorrow thoughhhh>>>>
