Richard, it's great to see something different being saved!! It's a Dodge that we do not see much any more!!!
I don't care what anybody says that's a beautiful old truck. Amazing that a flathead 6 actually had 99,000 mi on it, wow. You guys just keep doing what you're doing don't worry about what people say it's all about what you're doing right! 👍 Many blessings to y'all as always.
❤❤❤
Right on Joseph. Thank you.
Even though you did not have no light, you still got the truck running the first time, another excellent job
❤
What a gem, I've always been partial to the 50's Dodge trucks, great job
Glass guy could cut new windshield from safety glass
Soak. Windshield gasket in rubber lube or go Jo to re use
Get u shaped rapidstan for shelving and cut to span bed side. Yo side then bolt ply to it
Hi Richard and Christina ! I have been waiting and waiting for this video ever since the teaser you put out ! And it was worth the wait ! Love the self tapper pole barn garage reference ! Lol lol lol. With apologies to Mopar fans , old Dodge parts can be a problem , only thing that may be worse would be IH parts. Stopping and going back to basics is always the Golden Rule when weird problems are giving you fits....So happy you put that advice in , it NEVER FAILS ! Fantastic Video ! Thank You !!
Thank you! We know Dalton so...😂 It seemed appropriate. Thanks for watching ❤ Glad it was worth the wait😊
Beautiful lil shortie! Need some love and care of course but great entry ticket to classics club! Thank you for saving it!
Thank you for watching and commenting ❤ We enjoyed this project 😊
My wife and I truly appreciate your videos. You two make a wonderful couple. We are so amazed at the wonderful work you both do. Thank you both so much for sharing the adventures of your work. What an awesome inspiration you give to all who are watching. Please give Nova a hug for us.
Thank you very much for the nice comment. We will keep the good content coming!
wow what a find richard and christina you are right there aint many of those aroundit looks like its in pretty decent shape congrats on finding that pickup worth restoring
Thanks John❤
At 14:09, I remember from far back in my youth they used those for rooms that did not have wall sockets. You took out the bulb, screwed it into the adapter, then screwed the whole thing back into the ceiling receptacle which was usually hanging down from the ceiling....L-O-N-G time ago!!!
Really😂 Thanks for sharing. We appreciate you watching ❤
Christina, you did a GREAT JOB ON THE INTERIOR!!!! What a great team!!
Thank you Howard ❤ We appreciate you.
Very cool find
Nicely done. Thanks for taking us along ! Would be nice to have direct link shown for questions. This one is to be sold...maybe post a ballpark number along with your list of known issues the new owner will need to address. Little pressure wash on your shop entry canopy would be nice. Really dirty ! See you both next week.
We thought about doing that but sided against it at the last minute. Appreciate you watching and commenting ❤
Right, that canopy is nasty. I was going to replace it until I saw how much they cost. Insane!
What a great job you guys did on that truck. You know there is nothing else better than that the smell of the engine after it starts up what a great truck
So true! Thanks Tom❤
Wow what a nice old Dodge pilot House. Love it
Brought back a lot of memories. Dad had a 1950 Dodge. Had 600,000 miles on it before it lost a rod and rusted out.
Wow, 600,000! That is amazing for any vehicle, but an old flathead with the metallurgy technology available back then, it is incredible. Glad this video brought back some memories for you.
Whoo hoo!👍. I was a doubter but you got her running. Fantastic 😊
Great job!!!! Sounds much better!!
you make it look so easy! I hope it finds a good owner.
Sweet running engine now ! That’s Far Out !
Pretty cool! Just the planning to get this old truck recovered is admirable.
Christina mam when I had mentioned that I was working on a early 94 Chevy Z71 Silverado extended cab short bed 350 sbc tbi and I found out that it has a 5206 dr side 350 55lh and a 5279 40-45lh fuel injector on the passenger side of the throttle body injector pod, and it would shoot 4ft flames out of the deep tone dual glass pack muffler exhaust and 3 1/2 inch stainless steel single wall angle cut heartthrob brand about 14 inch long exhaust tips and it sounded like a double barrel side by side shotgun.... Being fired simultaneously... Neighbor's hated that truck...
😂😂😂 That sounds cool, scary and annoying to dogs all at the same time! Thanks for sharing ❤
Hi Richard good work again keep it u
Richard, this truck sounds AMAZING! GREAT JOB !!
Neat truck getting it running
Add a GM 10si alternator and switch to 12v
Great job on getting this one going. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
wow nice truck thanks man.
You all have a cute kitty there!👍
This would be cool rat rod truck it's definitely got the patina for it or lack of existing paint rather lol, amazing the kind of shape that bed is still in considering it was probably pulled off in the early 70's and those 50's dodge truck cabs usually are not cheap..
Mr. B. Here ! 🍸🍱👀😎. Sorry yard work was over do ! Readied a comments you guys keep doing what your doing . A mix of vehicles show case by is great ! Some folks miss the point muscle cars are great in their own way but 40’s 50’s 60’s other models were there too ! That does need TLC , but a lot less than building a muscle car today ! Keep up the good guys. Richard good to hear you doing well 🍸👀😎👍🍸👀😎👍
Farm tags were cheaper than regular tags I think insurance was cheaper also
Seems like they were almost $25 cheaper per year... my momma usually fan farm plates on her 96 Ford f250 hd...
The cost showed as $10 per year on the registrations. To us that seemed like a lot in the 50's😂 Thanks for watching ❤
The crazy recovery are the best. This channel is fun.
My grandma used to say if it rained when the sun shine was out that meant it was going to rain tomorrow
What a great video & visit, thanks!
Another runner great job.
that is one kool truck! Nice job
Nice job Nice Dodge Nice yard good show 😃👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Great truck! Bought a new Dodge truck in June of '97 and it's been my daily driver since. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Ray. Will do.
This is one to start a daily driver restoration on. My day had a 56 years ago I enjoyed working on it with him. Sadly he sold it prior to completing it.
I agree. It could be a driver with just a little more work.
Keeping new Dodges running is a task by itself, kudos for trying to deal with an old one… touche’
Thanks very much!
Definitely looks like a relative of Pole Barn Garage had a hand in those floors😅
Great truck
Hi yall from west Alabama hugssss
❤❤❤
@@christinarust6957 miss y’all love y’all
Nice work! 👍👍👍👍
GREATJOB U 2. I have a 51F3 and the engine looks the same
I also seem to have a larger, in diameter, steering wheel which gives me a little more leverage for turning when parking etc. My wheel had lots of play I'm it and I discovered the steering box itself was loose where it connected to the frame so after tightening it there I lost a lot of that play. Of course you can also tighten up the play in the wheel by tightening the worm gear in the steering box itself. Very sturdy old reliable farm vehicle.
Great job man from the dead fuse alive.
Nice truck when you get done with it.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Edwin!
You are very welcome any time.
Crimp the line off, and they will stay brand new. Lol
😂😂😂❤❤❤
Enjoy your videos Richard and Christina
Way cool..
What else can I say?
Way way cool....
Y'all never disappoint.
Thanks Gary!
Pretty kitty 🐈
Christina your humor 🤣 about the Devil Lol 🤣
barn hinge gas pedal lol recon it might be a farm truck hahaha.like those 50 60s dodge trucks puts me in mind of the dodge think it was a fargo, on the old lassie show
my mother had a 49 same truck hers was black had factory yellow wheels and chrome dog dish hub caps I remember it well riding in it to school that was around 1960 I have nevwr.forgot it and was the 1st time I saw a engine being rebuilt my dad and his brother rebuilt then 6 cylinder this has brought back found memories of my child hood and I'm a old fart 67 but I still remember sounds and smells thanks so much
Glad it brought back good memories, Michael!
Another vehicle saved. Also you guys have an entertaining video. Awesome.👍
Great work, you two! Great video! It's an adventure! Thanks for posting!😀🔧🛠️
Glad you liked it Billy.
I had a 49 dodge my grandfather left me when he died I was to young so my stepfather sold it on me some day I hope to fine one I had great memories hope you get it running and driving
Great job!
Cool video, love that truck
Really interesting video. I always learn something new. Richard is very good at explaining what he’s doing. I appreciate the questions that Christina asks. Many are the same ones I’d ask. Thank you!
Glad you liked it Julie. More coming.
Send the radio to your little brother so he can fix it.
He doesn't work on radio's as far as restoration goes. He normally converts them to Bluetooth. Thanks for watching our channel and Matt's! Much appreciated 🙏
You guys do not back down from a challenge, that's for sure. Good to see this truck getting a chance of having a new life.. At one time when Richard hit the brakes to stop to pick up Christina the rear richt wheel locked up. Just wanted to let you know that...
Right, the wheel locked up because there is no brake on that side front wheel. So far I have not been able to locate a wheel cylinder or rebuild kit that fits. Thanks for letting us know.
That old Dodge is really in good shape, and it sounds amazing! Another fun video! You have a really nice place there!
Thanks Ron. We are happy with how the Dodge turned out.
Yeah
Didn't you do a revival on this 50 dodge early on the UA-cam channel Richard sir... neat that you ended up with the dodge truck...
We did! We kept in touch with the owner over the last couple years for updates on the progress he'd made and well...there wasn't any. Happens all the time. Then he finally said he'd sell it to us! Guess he got tired of us asking😂 Thanks for watching we appreciate it 🙏
How much is it going to sell for?
I have never seen drums appear like this in a UA-cam video like this truck
great show-as for power get a Generac and no more issues-yea its a little expensive ,but no more power issues-ever!! good job guys!!!
Agreed, we are looking at those. The house is already wired for it, so it will be plug and play.
Very cool truck. Needs things but so intact its worth it. Really incredible shape for sitting so incredibly long!
I agree! Thanks for tuning in.
1947 and up had speakers in the dash like that one on Chevy pickups .
That looks like red oxide primer, the original rust preventer! Great episode guys, keep that enthusiasm going!
Remember people used non detergent oil that thickened and turned to sludge if you didnt change it every 1500 miles max.
Just love old American truck. Don’t see many in England 🏴. Great content. Richard and Christine
Wow, leave it to you guys to come up with these awesome finds !!!! How incredible it would be to see a full restoration done on this old truck !!!
love the sound of the engine!!
Right, something about how a flathead sounds that I like.
Love your videos
Ty for y’all show love ya
Thank you Jamie!

This reminds me a lot of the day Edna came home. Except for the part where Christina said you had to many cars in there lol. Unfortunately I was by myself that day. My dad was busy, brother was out of town and Chance didn't find out about Edna for another week. ❤
Oh no! I'm sure you were so excited and no one to share it with. We do have too many. Richard even said that today 😂
Unique and original. Great job y’all!
You need to check break &clutch pedal for grease fitting also u joints all had zerts. You might get a lube chart on line. I found one for 59studebaker. Good luck
yes my 46 ford todur has that type of brakes on it also
good looking truck, and didn't take that much to get it running. Good job.
hey rich and christina i think that old dodge should be another" mater" cars movie larry the cable guy truck. get er done. you cant kill those 230s. they ran right next to the kaiser willys 134 flatheads.
I was born in 1980 and I remember seeing those plates as a kid I grew up in middle tn nashville and surrounding areas
Good job on the old Dodge lots of hard work till next time will we watching for your next video thank you
Thank you for the support. Glad you liked it.
Very cool! You don't see many old Dodge trucks being revived so this one is certainly unique. Especially of this vintage. Excellent work Richard and Christina!! Thanks for sharing!! 😎
Thanks David! We are hopeful this goes to a good home, where the uniqueness is appreciated.
Damn I'm jealous that awesome can't go wrong with the old stuff great job u2
Thanks Tanner. We are happy with how it turned out.
Amazing work, again, both of you!! Thanks for the great video, enjoyed watch as always ☺
Thank you for the support. We appreciate it!
You guys have a beautiful piece of property
Thank you. We are blessed.
I bought a trailer made from a 1950 Dodge pickup for $150 in 1980. They bent the frame that went under the cab into a V & installed a trailer hitch. It still has the rear end & brakes on it.
I see that a lot lately! I did not know how popular it was to use truck beds for trailers.
Free-hand is the only way I do cut boards. Nice looking bed floor!
Thanks! Free-hand worked out well for me. Thanks for the support.
You guys don't lie.
We leave that to the politicians 😂Thanks for watching Tom❤
The old Dodge drives Awesome cant beat the sound of a flathead. Great job Richard And Christina Mates
Thanks very much, Brett.
Richard and Christina . I have seen plenty of your Cre-oil usage on your channel in 62 years have used all the snake oils and thought well, Richard and Christina use it and they don't appear to be people that wouldn't say something that wasn't true . I bought a can and used it on my 2003 Chevy Suburban to pull exhaust from factory header , and the product works just as demonstrated I was very happy no broken exhaust bolts , now that's a first . Love the channel .
That is great to hear Chris! Thank you for letting us know.
Thanks Christina and Richard ! Great Video on this 50 Dodge.Your still the best in Will it run answer is Yes.
Thank you Terry. You are awesome.
lol. This is great. Needed an excavation
Love the truck.
Excellent job as always. Great little truck,
Thanks 👍
Ah yes, the devil beating his wife during a sunny rain. My father used to say that. He was born in 1903, six months before the Wright brothers flew their plane at Kitty Hawk. My mother never liked the expression. LOL. Very nice job on the Dodge truck. The oldest Dodge I ever owned was a '61 Dodge Pheonix I had in high school. We called it, "The Boat." I drove it around while I was fixing up a '57 Ford Ranchero. I love watching you bringing these vehicles back to life.
I like those Dodge cars from 61. I had never heard that saying until this video. It is an odd one for sure. Thanks for watching.
Love the old truck and those rear windows are so unique, and it sounds cool also. There is a certain procedure for adjusting those old Mopar brake shoes. When I followed that procedure in the old Motors manual the brakes worked perfectly. Also, Andy Bernbaum and Roberts have old Mopar parts. Anyway, you two are so funny together, it's a blast to watch how you interact! Great job on the truck! Catch you later.
Thanks for the tip on the parts, Ronald!
Need to stain the bed and install those metal rails, where it may look like the original or close to it.
Outstanding Work . Love your Channel .
Thanks very much. We appreciate your support!
The previous carb rebuilder... "Hey I put most of the parts back in!" heheh
Right, I just don't know what they were thinking. "Where is that needle? Oh, it isn't really needed."
That noise the radio makes is probably the vibrator. It takes the battery voltage, changes the polarity back and forth creating alternating current, it goes through a step up transformer to maybe, 60 Volts for the vacuum tube plate voltage. By the mid- late 1950's, the mini tubes came out, vibrator radios were obsolete. Early 1960's, transistor radios came along.
Thanks for the info. I did not know what that vibrating sound was for.
