Will it run and drive after 56 years 1936 ford 1.5 ton flathead v8 truck

- This 1936 Ford truck has been in the same garage since 1968 and the engine has been tore apart in several hundred pieces for the past 56 years. The truck was parked around 19 6768 for a valve job and it never got finished. Luckily the motor seems to be in pretty good shape and we’re going to get it running and driving and hopefully back on the road the tires on this truck for 1935 altogether. The truck seems to be in fairly good shape.
Politeness, no cursing, no awful music, no endorsements...just talent and a young man with an incredible set of skills. By far, my favorite UA-cam channel.
👍💕
OK stuffy, you sound a little woke to me, but I'm not a child so thanks for your politically correct comment.
MINT!!!!!!!!
@@PaulLorenzini-ny2ywyour the only one who brought up politics skuffy😂 sounds to me like you are the only woke one here. Be good to yourself because you probably deserve it.
Well said.
"We have a windshield and a heater hose, more than enough to get this old girl running again!" and that's why I like this channel.
He is optimistic lol and I love it. The linkage is doing linkage things and the belt is doing belt things but I don't think the exhaust was doing exhaust things lol
They were built simple back then
@@maggs131 lol nice VGG reference
I'll bet this guy could get the titanic engines running
HA!! YEAH!!!!
This old girl's been sitting at the bottom of the ocean since 19 and 12. We're gonna see if we can get her runnin.
nobody's gonna take that bet
@@jjryan1352 exactly 😂😂😂😂👍
Yes he could.
Thank you for not playing music
Thats my depo lol
That's what they told me when I first started down this road of country blues picken

Right?!? I detest that crap. Here to watch and Learn not have my brain burn. Especially hearing the same free yt music on video after video . When you have a good thing you dont need to add in effects, music, overlays, ads etc. Content speaks for itself. Cheers.
No car is dead around this man.
@@po18guy he reanimates dead cars!
We have certainly seen him revive engines in vehicles that look anything but a vehicle anymore. Heck even when the motor was missing a chunk or three...or four or more...
@RuralTowner he'd give the car wizard a run for his money
He made a completely totalled AAR Cuda body look pretty much brand new!
If he was a cardiac surgeon we'd have heart patients living past 200.
This gentleman not only has mechanical talent but patience and confidence in his ability. This is among my favourite You Tube channels. A true mechanic!
I was surprised at how well it ran after sitting so long, nice to see it saved and not LS swapped.
She could use a k24 swap no doubt
Jennings Motor Sports is my favorite "Will it Run?" channel! Great work!!!
It is absolutely the only one I watch. Everybody else's just feels like clickbait compared to this guy. I know there are some good ones, but this fella is honest, genuine, hardworking and has a great attitude.
Didn’t know that there were😂 others.
Same. And his euphemism like "valvolatin' " are classic.
followed by VGG and Junkyard Digs....but they don't play with stuff this old
*pulls out one of those cars that sunk with the Titanic* "She looks pretty bad, but I think she'll run!"
I especially enjoyed this episode - the test run on public roads was audacious and gave a great view of the pleasant area you are based in.
I love the sound of the old flat heads.
That heartbeat makes you fall in love with them.
This man is singlehandedly preserving automotive history that others wrote off and left to rot. One mans trash is another mans treasure, so to speak. I'm amazed every single video I watch!
Back in 1961 me and a buddy rebuilt a 1936 PU just like your grain truck. After a total rebuild and painting we decided to start it after the six month rebuild. I was holding the battery and pushing the starter while my buddy used my glass jug of gasoline for my lawn mower to prime the carb. This resulted in a backfire which trapped me in the garage when my buddy dropped the glass jug setting the garage, the truck and me on fire. I made it out without being burned but the PU and the garage didn't fair as well.
Thanks for the memories.
Great comment, glad you were unharmed, and I am sure you learned something, what was it?
Safety Third?
Glad your still in good health, sounds like one of my younger memories 😆😅🤣😂
@@PaulLorenzini-ny2ywYep, you don’t need to worry about safety.
There's nothing like the sound of a flathead V-8 Ford. Cheers from eastern TN
man, every time i look at what you're starting with and i shake my head. when will i learn to stop doubting you? thanks for givin the old girl her dignity back.
Made me kinda homesick for the old days when those old "jitneys" were pretty common around my part of the country. Thanks for bringing "her" back to life.
Mate... your content is absolutely impressive. Function over Form is what I like. Youre a bloody wizard with these old underappreciated and left for dead/rot away relics. Godspeed young man. Cheers.
HAHA...Best restoration channel on youtube. Love to see these old vehicals running again.
Not sure if I would call this a restoration channel. Not sure if we can call it "will it run?" either... 'cause they always seem to run. Maybe the "git 'er running" channel is best?
Restoration? Revival is more accurate.
Yea but what happens to them after he gets them to run?
@@massmike11 in the comments, he mentions keeping some and selling some.
you've got an amazing voice with a cool accent, its fun listening to you!
You cannot be serious, he never shuts up and his voice is completely fake and forced. He ruins what would otherwise be great content because he doesn’t EVER stfu.
@@raptor31able Since you're obviously such an expert I figured I'd check out some of your amazing videos. But wait, you don't have a one.
Where is his accent from? Definitely heard a similar one before

@@MrUbiquitousTech I thought it was something like alabama. I stand corrected 👍
I am amazed at all the old vehicles you are able to dig out of anywhere.
Guys a genius. He was cut from the same mold as my 80 year old brother in law. I love being around these guys and watching them getting anything to run. This is hilarious with a gas can strapped to the roof 😅.
No big screens, no Bluetooth, no computers ....Just oil, gas,American craftsmanship And BUILT TO LAST .... DAYS GONE BY
This guy is hilarious. "For having the heads off for 56 years she looks really good" 🤣
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel. Most people would look at these old junkers and say they aren't worth anything except for possibly scrap, but you look at them and say, "I think I can get this old girl up and running and back on the highway!" Then you do just that. You are an awesome mechanic IMHO. Love your channel.
wow... She started up right quick considering everything.
That really was an amazing truck with the good old Ford Flat head V8. They built those engines to last back then and you just proved it. Thanks for the video.
I'm almost fifty years old, my dad & me had a 1928 Ford AA truck that was a original Railroad Express Agency station truck. It only did local freight service up in Marion OH. I wish we still had it.
What a great truck. I love the sound of that V8. The flat spots on the tires got me laughing.
Absolutely epic...... the moment of regret during was classic..... been there..... cheers from New Zealand
This young man puts VGG to shame. An absolute master at what he does.
Agreed. He doesn’t try to be a comedian.
Different channels, both very entertaining. It aint like theyre rivals or anything.
@silversurfer806
This guy is great but, VGG has his place. You may not like VGG but obviously enough people do or he wouldn’t have got as famous as he did. It is funny though to go back to VGG first video with his Camaro and he talked a lot different.
@@jonathanrice1070that's part of Derek's thing the fact that hes funny and that has brought him almost 2million subs
What a stupid comment
Compression, fuel and sparks and off it goes. What an absolute pleasure to watch you tinkering with what any right minded person would class as scrap, and you get it running.
Great job! I have a picture of my pap in his 1936 ford dump truck . It's great to see you bring these antiques back to life!
Really enjoy seeing these old trucks come back to life. Question: the ones we see run and then never see again, what happens to them? Sold? Parked in a hedge row for another few decades? 😊
Wow ! So happy to see the truck being driven.....it's working again .
Quick and concise, short and to the point. Accent is just a bonus.
To be honest, I love seeing getting them running, but I love even more seeing you take them out for a quick drive. It was hilarious that the trooper went riding down the street after you got it back to the shop, someone probably called in it. It's one scary looking old truck riding down the street, loud too. I'd love to see more of anything you've got running in that era period with a driving video!
Thank you for posting this type of videos. I would never had any idea that this would be on the road again. A++++++ videos every time
Nothing tops enthusiasm.
That is really cool that the motor wasn't locked up for sitting for that long sounds good
this thing is in beautiful condition for a JMS video. i've seen other 'will it run' channels where a couple of overly happy jerkoffs with a film crew and fancy editing wouldn't touch this, and that's probably if they weren't absolutely sure they could get it running for their 1M subscribers.
my man, you may not be fancy, but you're legit.
That plugged oil drain hole brought back memories. I had the same thing happen on my '31 Model A. removed the plug and nothing came out until I shoved a screwdriver in the hole. I pulled the pan and it had 2 inches of sludge in the bottom of the pan! I also pulled the valve cover off and the whole thing was packed with sludge as well. I had been told the engine had been "rebuilt" yeah!! I cleaned everything up good and that engine ran like a sewing machine!
I can't believe it just held an idle right away, mint.
Oh wow ! Flathead 8. If anyone can make it run you can, its like Dr. Frankenstein at work.
The only channel I have ever been subscribed to.
🌴 that old girl is back up and dancing , I gotta admit when first see her I thought she was down for the count but y’all did some magic on her and gave her some love , she needs a set of tires a real fuel tank , brakes, and some TLC . New windows 👍🏼😆
Holy moley. You are the man. Thats an awesome rig you got there.
It's great to see a younger dude that is not only interested in the golden age of cars but also knows and values the "technology" behind it. Most his age can't do anything if there's not a computer involved and they have no idea how an IC engine actually works.
Mighty impressive! Goes to show you how well the old timers built things back then.
It is so cool to see a young kid working on a truck that was parked a year before I was born. I love this channel.
Reminds me of my first trip around the block in a 36 Dodge 1.5 ton.Last licensed in 72.Square tires, spring seat, rat droppings and no brakes…..wife wasn’t impressed.lol
Admirable dedication and humility in your content. Keep inspiring!
Jennings - the car MacGyver of Arkansas!
knowing this man, it will always run.
This guy could get a car without an engine running perfect!
It always amazes me how you keep your white T shirt white . I don’t even need to lift the lid on a car and I’m covered in oil 😮
Them state boys would have had a story to tell back at the post if they'd pulled you over in that beast. My old lady got mad at me for driving a car I bought about 20 miles down the road with no plates to get it home, you're on another level with that lmao.
You need to take these antiques to a auto show and show what you have accomplish in your work of getting these running.
Best "will it run " channel on utube... Wish you had a vid every day.
The best will it run video yet! The fact that you drove this on the road without doing anything else to it is cool. Love this channel, cheers from south Wales, UK
Another great video. Been from England 🏴 it’s amazing to me how you find something so different. Every time. 😮
oh there go the State Trooper good thing we got this home before they saw hahaha. What a legend.
This truck yearned to be driven again, Thanks for its rescue .
It sounds like the Ursus C-330 tractor from Poland. It has 2 cylinders, almost 30hp, but it cannot be killed
Wow - look at that beauty motoring down the road!
Gretta is gonna be pissed. HOW DARE YOU!😂
When you first showed this truck with the engine the way it was I never expected you to get it running. Great job.
first video of his you've watched, eh? this thing is practically show quality compared to most of what i've seen him get running.
My first thought was if he had all the pieces for the engine or would there be some cannibalizing of other cars in the yard.
Even with the "Head and intake delete package" to save weight, Jennings was still able to get this old girl running and driving again. Remarkable!! 😎👍
I like that it had the record with dates-and you got it! good job-onto the next!!
Good job you’ve brought another one back to life!!
JMS is so enthusiastic that I forget to ask whether he is looking at the same rusty lump that I am seeing. The optimistic and positive description of the cab interior made me feel like this was a suitable contender for my next truck daily driver! I am willing to bet that none of the trucks manufactured today will be able to be made roadworthy again in 2080!
32:00 back to work!? I heard she screaming NOOOOOOO from here, And I'm pretty far away. Greetings from Brazil.
Half a century later and the truck is doing truck things!
As a European I love this American accent, this is the real wild west 😄
Great truck I loved it! I'm from Chicago that southern accent crackers me up😂❤
Another great save from the "Engine Whisperer".😃
I just love to look at your videos, They are both inspiring and fun! You are a really good mechanic, bringing those vehicles back from the dead! 😀 Cheer from Sweden 🇸🇪
What job young man. You did it.
These are lucky vehicles to fall in to your hands 😊Such a wonderful post. My favourite so far
Old flat head v8 is one of the greatest
All smiles while you were driving her............ good one
Good afternoon from Cape Cod 🦈 I'm impressed to see that truck actually running and driving once again. I don't believe there's anything you can't get running again. Keep up the great work and the awesome content 👍✌️🇺🇲
Imagine that trooper caught him and the only documents he got were service records from 1930s
My father owned a 36 much like this. Can recall Dad,Gramps and me loading locust logs on it and driving the logging road.
Honestly I hope Within 5 Years I can go down there to you there in Arkansas so I can just buy one of your trucks and Head home cause I just love your work
I like the condition of this truck. This is one of the best videos to date you've done. I love the story of this one. It was in the garage for repair and then 56 years later it comes out thanks to these guys!
Grate video I wasn't expecting to see the truck 🚚 drive to awesome job 👏😁keep up the good work 👍
He makes it look so easy. I've always heard old flatheads are notorious for cracks but I never see him check for them. Doesn't seem to cause any issues.
SWEEEEETTTTT Brother GOD bless you, you literally make me cry,,,. I remember that my uncle had a gas station and a garage where they fixed cars and restored old cars and after leaving school every day he would run there just to see how they did it,,,I remember he fix a 1950 Nash Ambassador custom and keep it even he have a new car he run the Nash every sunday to go to church everybody love that car,,,. Brother, you bring back good memories. I wish our country to return to the good old days!!!!
GOD bless you again and also GOD bless everyone on this page and GOD BLESS the United States of America always!!!!
That thing sounds wicked. Even without a cylinder delete 👌🏼
Watching you work on the old trucks and cars brings me back to my childhood. I was always the one that wanted to get under the hood and help my dad change heads, push rods, springs and gaskets. And it wasn’t always in nice weather when we needed to work on them. I loved all the room under the hood, hell you could have a party in all that space🤣. I love the sound of the old engine roar. Great video and thank you for sharing them with us. 👏👍🇨🇦💕🎉
When you see the words "and drive" you know it's a runner!
This is amazing. Such an awesome find. Look forward to seeing more of this one! New tires, interior, etc!
That truck sat when my dad was born man
I wish we could have something like that to play with love this channel should do a giveaway these things you do are amazing. Love to see these old trucks up and running well done. ❤
Hard to believe that has been off the road for as long as I’ve been alive. I try to keep myself in shape, but I think that engine is doing better than me. 😂😂
Unbelievable!! I love every minute.
What a sweet darling of a truck.
Such a blast to watch, thank you for another fun video!
Great result, very little work and not far from being a vintage gem! I think is wonderful and would love to have it my yard to show off and just enjoy it! 🇦🇺👍
