I enjoyed the video, Chad. Very nice setup with GREAT features. With the pricing where it is though, it seems it's only for the highly sponsored elite kayak fisherman. The average joe kayak fisherman (98% + of kayak fisherman) either won't be able to afford this product or will flat out refuse to pay that. Personally, I love the design and understand that innovation comes at a cost. That said, I can't see buying a $5k motor for a $2k kayak, the PWR129 for instance. I'm sure there will be buyers out there in the kayak fishing world, but very few.
By all means it's a beast, but just remember some of us are happy with our setup now. Took me a few yaks, and motors but yeah I'm happy. If you can afford it, and are happy then I'm happy for you. All about what you like, and what you want to spend. PWR129 with NK180 HAPPY
But also keep in mind that the boat you are in was new at some point and if someone said “this is enough” then we would never advance and the advanced boat from ten years ago would not be the base boat now that is 1/3 of the cost. 😳🤯 Wow so kayak fishing is trending just like the boats are, ridiculously expensive. I’m fortunate to have several motorized kayaks and I can tell you that this motor will not make my fleet mainly cause I can set up another whole kayak with motor and lithium for the cost of just this motor.
There are currently more kayaks available at every level and price point than any other time in history. Just because there are products pushing the upper limits of performance and affordability doesn’t mean there isn’t more affordable options at other levels.

This is an “intro” video and all of that will be covered when I get a unit for putting it through the paces on the water. That’s all “performance” stuff it’s hard to cover all of that standing in a booth. What I can say is that it’s supposed to be the exact same performance, compatibility and all the other features of the existing MOVE series.

I got myself a used jon boat, 26.5hp mud motor, and powerdrive tm for 5k. I'm fishing new places I've never been able to get to on my kayak. My kayak is now reserved for carry in/electric only lakes :D
Yamaha 25hp 4 stroke is $4500 new and can go 30mph with a jon boat. My old kayak with the xi3 only did 4mph. Jon boat feels like your flying, and not much more in price. Jon boats are WAY better Gas is only $8 and i get 4 trips. Just put sea deck in your jon boat and your golden!

Minn Kota bow mount motors already have a "Boat Scale" setting to eliminate getting thrown when in anchor mode. I set my Terrova to "-2" and it doesn't jerk me around at all. Not exactly innovative.
Do you know how big 3-5% of the kayak market is? I don’t agree with your assessment, but I think even at your numbers it’s nowhere near a miss. This product is already successful, this is just a kayak version that didn’t require much re-engineering.

It won’t be as hard of a sell as you think. There are tons of people putting a stern mount and bow mount with batteries for each and this will be cheaper than that. There are options at every price point and I have covered those this year and will continue to do so.
It’s products like this that blaze the trail so that we get better price points on premium products in the future. It’s that way will all electronic products from TVs to cell phones, to video games to whatever. This is how it works

In fact, when I did my video on the AutoPilot there were tons of comments saying the exact same thing about it. It’s all relative. Newer technologies are always more expense in the beginning and the prices tend to come down over time.

Get the new 48” kraken from Garmin 100 lbs of thrust… 24 or 36 V and offers all the auto nav with a Garmin chartplotter. Then cut it down to 36”.

At 5k, they will sell roughly 20 of them....Come out with a 55lb for 2k and I may be slightly interested. Big miss IMO
They will probably sell 2500 to 3500 of them. Then down the road the more stripped down and affordable options will be available.
