@@Just_A_Name14 nice! I’m looking to add the xtr130 to the kayacht fleet. I know people are battling over whether it’s a kayak or a bass boat but if they just accept that it’s a kayacht they can all sleep soundly at night haha
@@KayachtLife everyone has their own opinions and tastes. I prefer no electronics and no motors. Mainly for cost ,but I’ve been a bank fisherman my whole life so I rely more on knowledge and skill than electronics and technology. The 10 foot seems to cover all my needs. Peddle drive, rotating seat, front facing rod holder molded in,rail mounts for when I upgrade, room behind me for my tackle bag. Built in double rod holders up front for my two piece poles. Also being 10 foot and lighter I think I can haul it on top of my at4 suv with ease. I could mount my phone onto the peddle drive for easy access for pictures and I can attach bungie cords to a lot of my stuff from there too or the seat posts. I just think it’ll be a little bit wobbly for my likings but I can deal with that being I’m a little smaller than a lot of people I see on them. I like the xtr130 also but that’ll be the route I go if I was to get a motor.
@@Just_A_Name14totally agree, options are a good thing, not sure why people hate on them. I have a fishfinder and use it mainly for gps and depth, I fish in 1-4 foot of water 90% of the time, I am mostly concerned with the depth so I know what lure and weight to use. Fishing saltwater and tidal areas it is nice having the motor in case storms roll up or the tide is to strong to pedal/paddle. These large yaks are super hard to paddle/pedal.
@@KayachtLife I can only imagine. I use topographical maps I just print them out and then laminate them and put them in a binder not always accurate but most the time I’m generally okay minus whatever’s on the bottom I don’t know about. Trees, grass etc.
I think it depends on what trolling motor. From the looks of it the mount for the motor guide your handle is still usable with the trolling motor removed which you would want to do, as any extra weight removed when launching and landing is better.
