    Note: Just because you can chop vegetation doesn’t mean you should. aAgree? Buttons on the pedal or buttons off the pedal? Let me know

      Buttons on, keeps it neat and all in the same area.

      Buttons off the pedal is ideal for me. I often fish at night, in wind/waves, and in winter id be wearing cumbersome boots. So dexterity and foot control is poor, resulting in frequently pressing buttons accidentally. The simplicity of the remote and pedal are a MASSIVE drawcard for me

      On the pedal for space management. I would like to have the big motor trim switch on the pedal as well. My boat is not like an aircraft carrier......space and ease of access are important. With a dozen rods and huge monitors, the ability to toggle a trim switch with a foot can be impossible.

    Byron, it may be an advantage to you to go smashing yr way through the weed beds to access better fishing spots. In Australia, a big part of getting a boat licence, is learning not to disturb fish havens and habitat, i.e. weed beds. If all the tournament anglers are churning up fish and other species habitat, there’ll be no fish to catch. Am I wrong?😊

    • @ByronTeaHill
      @ByronTeaHill  11 місяців тому +3

      Yeah dude, 100% you are right. Just because you can trample vegetation doesn't mean you should ;)

    • @JohnnyJenkins
      @JohnnyJenkins 10 місяців тому +1

      No because new weeds grow rapidly and chopped up weeds blow in and create weed mats for habitat & regrow where they float to.
      But it is best practice to leave them undisturbed but honestly folks already run through stuff like crazy & it’s not a source of habitat problems unlike our bigger problems (weed spraying & water quality issues such as Lake Okeechobee, which can all be fixed with gov meeting with locals to actually fix issues. )

      that is a ridiculous comment that has nothing to do with a boat licence

    Really great review. I would like to disagree with you on the propulsion noise. For the style of fishing I do, inshore salt-water sight fishing - where noise really matters, the motor is a complete game changer. At the speeds where we would normally fish, 1 through 4 say, the Move is silent. I'm guessing you are showing speed 17, which was never meant to be silent and you would never stalk fish at those speeds. I made my own review of the Move on my channel where I show how silent it is over on the flats in Mosquito Lagoon. I can say with authority you can run sleeping redfish and trout over with the Move without budging them, and our inshore fish are notoriously spooky.

    Great review, it’s good to see companies admit where they got things wrong and that they genuinely want to work to improve things.
    If this is their first effort at a new product, even if they have someone who has made these before for another company, future could be bright for the product.

    yep BTH it is a very gud motor, especially for their first attempt. cool their open to feed bak n will(hopefully)fix that stow logic problem in the coming year n gen 2 will be that little bit better again. like u mate, got on board with the media hype from the press releases n interviews. all i cud think bout was the advantage this wud give me sight casting barra n chasing Tuskies on the flats off Airlie Beach but after seeing the demo with Steve n wat was happening in the tank my brain found its way bak to earth. no electric motor will be silent(they can be quieter)there r to many moving parts above/below water for total silence. also on my boat the MK, Birds n Talons r fully integrated as is the Garmin n Lowrance products. since Power Pole dont make electronics this cud be their time for innovation in the industry by giving the owners of the Move the ability to integrate wat transducer brand they prefer. if Power Pole put that in their gen2 which wud give me my total boat network i wud buy it. buttons, for me i wud prefer the buttons on the pedal but with the ability to mount the others on the dash or at the bak somewhere. hopefully u will have a review on the brushless MK in due course.

    To the comments about him chopping vegetation, you’re a bit uninformed on the conditions he is in. Yes, that can damage habitat in some locations such as sea grass. But in the freshwater lakes around him in Orlando, FL this is not the case. In fact, many lakes are sprayed with herbicide to prevent it from taking over. He mentioned hydrilla which is actually an invasive species. Great for fishing but invasive none the less.

    No remote stow/deploy??? No remote trim??? From the company that based its brand identity on push-button anchoring??? Useless for serious shallow water fishing.

    • @ByronTeaHill
      @ByronTeaHill  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for sharing mate appreciate your thoughts! If I think about it, there’s really only one brand that went with that idea and that whilst marketing was great around it… I’m aware the push button deploy wasn’t exactly a hit. Maybe that’s why PP went with no auto deploy.

    • @erehwon777
      @erehwon777 10 місяців тому

      @@ByronTeaHill Thanks for the reply. Push button deploy/stow/trim is hugely popular here in the US. Yes, there have been some mechanical issues over the years, but I use those features constantly, and in the long run, that's the manufacturer's challenge to solve. I have been using Minn-Kota Riptide Ulterra for seven years of hard use in salt water. While I can't say I've never had a problem, they're mostly self-inflicted. I just put down a deposit for one of their new Instinct Quest motors, which is supposed to be shipping here in the US this fall. It has brushless motor, auto deploy/trim, etc., plus some new features, so I'm eager to see how that works out. The price is about $4300.00 (US) so a little less than the PP motor. I'm a big fan of PowerPole as a company and own three PP anchoring devices across two boats. Great company but I was really disappointed with lack of remote deploy/stow/trim in their motors.
