    Thanks for the awesome video! I'm in the process of the same job and machine due to losing all compression. I've spent all day messing with the timing because I thought it jumped but after many failed attempts I tore it down to find the piston ovaled out and the rings were stuck. So waiting on a kit but very helpful with your video to get er back together and ripping! :)

      Awesome! Good luck! Not sure on that model, but more often than not you have to tear apart the hub and rotor and caliper to get the cv axle off.

    Did you have good luck with the niche head? I've seen alot say it fails in 30 minutes and destroys the head gasket

      I had the original head rebuilt and replaced the cylinder with a niche cylinder. it's working great!

      @atvsanonymous ok thank you. I guess I mistyped. I did mean the cylinder or I guess it's also called a jug? Anyway thank you. Gonna attempt the same with mine

      I would do a search for a free repair manual PDF online. Try to avoid the sites that charge for the service.

    Did you replace the head bolts or just use the old ones?

    • @atvsanonymous
      @atvsanonymous  Рік тому

      I believe the kit I bought came with new bolts. I do recommend getting a new set of bolts When doing this repair.

    What’s considered high mileage for a Grizzly 660? I have an 02 with 5,100 miles. I bought it a few years ago but haven’t driven it much since I got it. Planning on getting it going soon. Just hoping it will last awhile before needing more major work like this. Planning on getting a used lower mileage Grizzly 700 some day.

      This one has more than 8,000 miles and I have no idea how well it was maintained. Probably not well because I found it in a field in Saint George, UT. I haven't seen many with this many miles, So that makes me think that most will need major repairs/ rebuild at that point.

      Interesting.. I wonder how long it sat in that field before you got to it.. I’m in UT as well and bought my 02 from a guy in Morgan UT. 8K miles does seem to be getting up there.. I think even mine with 5K is probably considered higer mileage.. think I’ll drive it for awhile, do all the maintenance and such and see what happens.. will probably sell it someday for a used lower mileage Grizzly 700.

      @@AMF96 sounds good 👍. These ATVs have plenty of power. Scary if you're not ready for it.

      @@atvsanonymous They’re definitely powerful ATV’s. I know you can get more powerful ATV’s but I honestly don’t see the need for anything more powerful than the 660 or 700 Grizzly..

      Still running perfect after a year. My next video for this bike makes its debut this Tuesday. Wait till the very end to see the final product.

      I'm installing the same 3rd party cylinder. Hopefully, it holds up as well as yours! Thanks for the video. Please make a follow up with how many kms since rebuild at some point.
