Hi, I'm very green and watching this video, I did not hear what your heat is set at. I'm currently using an Iron, I do not have a heat transfer machine. I'm not sure how much heat to give the vinyl on a t-shirt. One shirt was good, but the other some of the vinyl was not sticking so I kept thy iron on longer, but the backing started to waver a little. What do you suggest if you do not have a heat machine?

Hi - really enjoy your channel. Thank you. I am a newbie - purchased the Cameo 4 to cut leather. I cannot get the machine to cut using cartridge #2, the Kraft blade. I keep getting message that material not compatible with blade #1. I don't have any blade in #1. I've gone through the settings to no avail. Please help! I have never been able to use the #2 cartridge or any blade other than the Autoblade. Extremely frustrating. Thanks again for any help you can offer.
Hello, I'm new to the silhouette machine. Which blade should I get for making custom corrugated boxes? I am deciding on getting the cameo 4 plus instead of the pro. Thank you in advance.
@@SilhouetteSchool Okay thank you so much! I love that you have a lot of tips for the silhouette machines and the fixes that owners have. I have already watched 3 hours of videos for when I have those same problems. 🤗
Hi there, I've done 6+ test cuts and still can't figure out what I need to do. It's cutting fine and weeding like a dream in some sections, and other sections are like it's not cut at all. Any suggestions? I did my most recent test cut with 4 passes and it's still coming out this way. I've used this HTV before, and never had this issue.
Hey there! I would make sure that your blade is pushed all the way down. Check out this blog post: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2019/11/silhouette-cameo-4-autoblade-wont-cut-5.html
hello, i use the manual blade 1 mm and auto cut, my silhouette dont load the media for some reason. when i try cutting an image, it cits all choppy. am i using the correct settings?
Can you do a separate video were you go through the process with force as well? I feel like you didn’t walk us through the whole process since you picked a material that was already at max force. Do you typically select something similar, then adjust force? If nothing changes adjust passes? Then adjust depth?
Hi, I am not owning a machine yet, but learning as much as I can now. So you can alter the depth of the blade, the force of which it cuts, the speed and the amount of passes. Is there an explanation what you tweak in what situation? What function does what? Because my logic would say that, if it didn’t cut through all the film, I would need a deeper blade cut.
The software will give you recommended cut settings based on the material you are cutting. You will kind of start to learn what to adjust depending on what the situation is and I have a lot of tips and tricks at SilhouetteSchoolBlog.com :) I would not overthink it. If you have the blade installed correctly and you pick the correct material type and use the default cut settings, you are 95% of the way there ;)
No you don't have to guess at the settings. There is a material list in the Send panel. You select the material you are using and it will offer suggested default settings.
My issue is when after I cut sometiems the vinyl doesn’t wanna stick to the transfer tape for application. Thats my issue especially with detailed decals

I'm a newbie on a mission with a deadline and your videos have helped me so very much. Thank you! You're a great teacher! I do have one question for you. I've used the silhouette test and it cuts on my mat. Am I supposed to move it around with the arrows before clicking test? I've damaged two mats already. My settings for materials and mats were all correct. Could it be because I assigned registration marks at the beginning of the project instead of at the end?
I have a question about silhouette studio. I see you’re using a MacBook. I use a MacBook Air, the newest version and notice the software look blurry on it. On my 9 year old MacBook, it looks clean. Why is that?
Hey there, I'd make sure your blade is clean: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2020/02/silhouette-cameo-4-blade-not-cutting.html Otherwise, if you haven't already, up your force to 14.
Hi Melissa. I have the cameo 4 pro and it’s my second cutter that I’ve owned. My first was a Cricut. I wanted to help my son in law by cutting out vinyl for his work vehicle. I purchased 3mm thick faux diamond looking flat vinyl off of Amazon. The vinyl was very curled when we took it off the roll so we tried to curl it the opposite way of the curl. The roll of vinyl was too heavy to leave it on the roll so it was having feeding issues. We were using the 3mm craft blade and the highest settings on the force and blade depth and it was not cutting it cleanly through the vinyl. We were not using the mat. We tried 2 passes but it must have shifted during the process because it didn’t line up and gave me two cuts one offset of the other. We had the roller almost all the way to the right. It was like there wasn’t enough support on the right side even though the roller was down. Do you have any tips or suggestions?🤷🏻♀️ Thanks☺️
Hi there! This is going to be tricky to say the least. I'd make sure that your material is fully supported (try putting your Cameo on a LONG table so that the vinyl is sitting flat both in front of and behind the machine. What cut settings do you use for regular glossy vinyl? The setting I created (since the Cameo 4 setting was no good) got deleted by mistake, and now I can't figure out the best setting.
@@SilhouetteSchool thanks! I tried that, but I can’t get my vinyl to get cut all the way through without the blade depth on 4. Could that just be the vinyl or does it sound like something is wrong w my autoblade? It is installed correctly.
If I need a cutout design to be a certain size, how do I show the silhouette machine what size to cut it. What it indicates it going to cut and what it actually cuts is NOT the same
In the software if you select the design it will give you the dimensions of the selected shape - this will include if there is any "space" between the shape and its edge. If you need to make something EXACTLY 3x3" for example, use the Draw a Rectangle tool and draw out a 3x3" square, then place the design you want to cut inside and size it to the edge of the box. Then delete the box. This should help you www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/03/how-to-accurately-measure-design-or.html?m=1
