Mine sat for 1 1/2 years! I'm pushing myself because I really want to start doing some chipboard constructions to then decorate and sell as home decor in addition to doing cards.
Glad I'm not the only one! The program has been hard for me to learn but, I am really putting in huge effort to learn it now though! Good luck guys, we can all do this! 💜💜💜
OK, so I tried to find an email. We really need a video that goes over Premium License, what you can and can not do as far as printing and selling items, reselling the file and print on demand do's and don'ts. Thank you
Very helpful tips in one great video. 👍 Here are my 5 cents: Do not use JPEGs. These are only useful for screens, e.g photos and/or graphics with a background, scaling is a nuisance and edges are pixelated. Use vector graphics only (PNG*, EPS, SVG etc.), which you can scale up or down without losing any quality. (*)PNG is a bit limited
I purchased my Cameo 4 earlier this year, and am still intimidated. I just found your video this morning, and I love how you present the material. You are a great teacher. Thank you!
I know I'm supposed to learning but I'm just mesmerised by your gorgeous collection of vinyl in the glass cubes! :-) Thank you for making everything sound so easy :-)
Hey Michelle! I am mesmerized by them every day also, it's very distracting to have pretty sparkly vinyl close by. Thanks for checking out the video though! Hope we were able to pass on a few tips for you! ---Becky
Thank you for mentioning that it can open .dfx files, it made me think of a workaround for opening PDF files in the basic version - Inkscape (afree SVG software) does the trick. Import PDF in Inkscape and export as .dfx file and import that in Silhoutte Studio 😬
Another well-thought-out and spoken video on silhouette design. Doing a very good job and I hope many people see these videos. Excellent learning tool.
I loved that you touched the tips about the test cutting.. I would like to add the alwaays save scraps of the same color for just doing test cuts.. aslo I wanted to mention that all colors of the oracal 651 vinyles differ in thickness and so you test cut for each color.. take notes of good successful cuts.. like what force, speed, and blade dept. put it on a postanote and stick it on each roll
Can you please recommend a permanent-printable size white vinyl sheets suitable for outdoor, we just purchased a Cameo 4 and want to make graphic decals for our side x side. I can’t find any Oracal letter sized 651 sheets. Thank you, really enjoy the videos, they are like drinking from a fire hose!
I know I've already commented about you on a different video but, I just absolutely love your personality & style of teaching! Design Bundles need to give you a huge raise or whatever it takes to keep you as their tutorial person because you truly have such an amazing presence/personality that people just instantly love! Subscribed & bingeingfor sure!😁
Hey there! Thank you so much for you kind words, my heart is so happy to know that you enjoy my videos (and me!). I'm happy to report that Design Bundles takes very good care of me, they are a great company to work with and I plan on continuing to work with them in any capacity I can. See you again soon! ---Becky
Loved this video! You explain things calmly and clearly. Sometimes with other videos, the person jumps back and forth and I get a bit confused at times. Thanks for giving calm and clear instructions! I will continue to follow you in the future! Thanks so much!
I think I have a lemon. I have the Cameo 4 Plus. No matter what i do or settings I adjust (which is about all I've used) I can't get a good cut. I need help if I'm going to keep this machine but right now I want to toss it.
ok.. question.. and I’m searching for answers so hopefully I’ll find them, but in the meantime as well as assuming that I may NOT find my answers, I have the 2nd edition of Silhouette Cameo, I’m trying to figure out IF my machine will cut FOAM, Felt and basic fabric!! And being that it’s an older machine, finding the answers haven’t always been easy for me!! I’m not new to Silhouette but I’m not a PRO either!! Just playing around with the things and listening to many of yall who are so kind enough to help ppl like myself- giving details and how tos!! Much appreciated!!! Thanks for your help!!! And thanks for all the tutorials!! And obviously I only have the ratchet blade and I’m not sure what limits there are with this blade! Thanks again!! Have a blessed evening! ❤
I just received a Cameo 4 as a birthday gift from The Hubster! I have been using my original Cameo and it started having issues. I followed your tutorial and printed a vinyl sticker for my new machine. Everything works with the exception of the BlueTooth. All my other BlueTooth devices work but not the Cameo. I am fine right now, but I hope to get it going. Any suggestions? I am using the iMac OS High Sierra version 10.13.6.
I mainly cut stencils (large stencils) so I needed the 24" cut of the Cameo Pro. My question is can I cut 7.5 mil mylar plastic without a mat? Thank you
New User here and love these learnings, but can someone help me with sticker pages, how do i cut around sticker and not cut through the backing paper, aaahhh :)
Hey Sharon! Great question! Silhouette Studio has a few defaults that you can test to get the kind of cut you are looking for. In this situation, I would recommend using a blank sheet of sticker paper to test your settings before trying it out on your print-and-cut sheet. Draw a box in your cutting area and play with the cut settings (move the box for subsequent cuts) until you get the cut that you want. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Great info! I just want to say I love the way you smile throughout all of your videos. And you have a calming effect that I need sometimes, lol. I just appreciate the work you put into your videos….thank you!
I been in the sign business for 30 years and I know all the best ways to buy vinyl. every major city has a sign supplier and mose of them sell the oracal 651 but they also have the 3m vinyls, I been using the rtape paper mask for many years. I also love the clear masking transfer too..
Hi, I was wondering if you have a video of how to start printing from Silhouette Cameo? I am having a hard time with the Registration. It keep falling. I tried with or without the matte, still get Registration Fail. Help please.... Thank you

ok is 2nd time or 3rd time I see your video and I just seen the part were you talk about what file I need, with my 2little ones I miss that part the first couple time I saw the video, SO is DXF what I need not SVG? did I got that right ?
Hi Becky! Haven't seen any new videos from you lately. Truly miss them. I do have a question . . I noticed that you use weeding tweezers in some of your videos and was wondering if there is a pair that you would recommend. I've tried several and find the tips seem to bend quite easily. Hope to see you back soon!
Hi thank you for more information regarding silhoutte machine. I'm still confused regarding to all the material that I need to start my clothing brand. Hope you could help to it.
Hello, I just have a question, I have had my silhouette cameo for a long time but I really don't used it. Im trying to learn more on how to use it so not that long I fond out that to get an image it had to be a certain file to download an image or to buy one. So I'm not sure what file is what I need so Can you help me what's the file I need? I was try to find a video but I thing it got me a little bit confuse. Thanks for your help and videos they alway help.
I am a beginner a brand new beginner I’ve never used the cameo before you have lots of videos and I Been watching him but you talk over my head where should I start watching some of them say beginners but still it’s over my head
See. All I want is to be able to use lightburn with the cameo. I've already got a laser engraver. I already learned a design program. Now Imma have to learn a new one😭
a little about the weeding tools. although I have the cameo i do love the circit weed tool, and also I have made my own weel tools by getting wood dowel rod, cut to aout 4 to 6 inches in length. then go to the sewing section of walmart and get some big marine canvas needles, drill a small hole and then press the needle into it.. another weeding tool i like to use is a exacto blade by friskers. nice grip and it sometimes helps to make your own weed lines between words
Hey Luz! I use the regular Ratchet blade, you can get them from Amazon and then I personally use Oracal 651 for adhesive vinyl and Stahls brand for heat transfer vinyl. Hope this helps!
Hi Becky thanks for the wonderful hack/tips/tricks. My question to you is: Where did you get your clear storage binds for your vinyl. I really love your setup and looking to organizing mine.
Hey there! I'm sorry to report that I don't actually know where they come from originally. I purchased them second-hand when a local retail store was going out of business. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi Becky. I am new to this entire world and have just bought my first Cameo 4 to start a small business. I just want you to know that I find your videos really helpful and practical. See you along the way
Thank you so much for letting me know that there is a problem with the blade. My daughter has experience with the version 3 and she has been teaching me how to use my 4 and we have wreaked our brains using different types of papers and not getting the cut . We finally said let’s get a new blade it couldn’t hurt to try to see if that’s the problem. Yes it was the blade.
I have had my Cameo 3 since 2017 and have used not a lot. I had always problem... Today I tried again, unfortunately I get the error message - failed to detect registration marks - what I do wrong? I hope you can help me, please. Greetings from Switzerland, Cécile
Hey Cecile, you can turn off the registration marks in the Page Setup panel, it's the third icon at the top. Or press "M" on your keyboard for the shortcut. Then when you send, your machine won't be looking for the registration marks. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I have just purchased a Silhouette after using the Cricut for years (you will understand why as the news of Cricut "new features" filter through because this is going to blow up massively). Anyway, you are the first Silhouette information "Guru" I have subscribed too. & I've been browsing You Tube for a couple of hours now! Loving your videos so far, you make it so easy to understand. Thankyou
I love your videos! You are so informative. I just purchased a cameo 4 and I'm excited to get started. I've been using Cricut design space and just got really frustrated with the software limits and inconsistencies. I do have a questions about the Silhouette software. First, can I use the designs I have in design space in Silhouette? Second, can I create svg files in Silhouette? I kinda got lost when you were discussing this. Do you have a video that explains all this? Third, if I only want to do print and cut, or cut svg files, can I get by with the Basic software? Or do I need to purchase an upgrade? Again, I'm so excited to get started but I almost feel overwhelmed. I know that it will all come, but just need some guidance to get started. Thank you in advance for all the videos you create to assist all of us newbies :)
Hi Karlene! Do create SVG files, you need the Designer Edition of Silhouette. It's an extra expense, but totally worth it! The basic edition of Silhouette only allows you to use DXF files, not SVG. - Dawn
I don't have a Sillhouette yet but I will probably have a Cameo 4 by this afternoon. LOL. I'm so glad I found your videos and they will definitely be a BIG help right from the beginning. (Now I'm off to go shopping)
You're amazing! I've had my cameo 4 for our a year and couldn't figure it out. It wasn't cutting right. It might be the auto blade!I'm gonna try the ratchet blade. Also, I can't figure out how to load my own logo and designs. Is it because I didn't upgrade? I saw you mentioned a little on that. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your honest opinions! I have had Cricuts for a few years but I really wanted to try a cameo for multiple reasons (design space issues but mostly curiosity, tbh). My cameo 4 arrived yesterday and I had watched your unboxing video when I ordered it. I decided to copy you and do a decal. The first two attempts were impossible to weed (second cut, I adjusted the cut from 1-3) and then I finally selected cut twice. That helped but cut a little too much so I was weeding half pieces of the backing off of some of the letters. I'm definitely going to try a ratchet blade!
Hi there, i really am thinking about getting the cameo 4. Im not a techy person. Do you know if the Pixelbook Go Chromebook works with this machine? Thanks for your help. :)
Are usually like your videos. But this one seemed rather lame. Not trying to be rude. We’re just wasn’t as fast-paced as I’m used to. But thank you for uploading it
Love your style of teaching. I have the business addition and am still trying to grasp the beginning of Silhouette Studio keep getting stuck with cutting. However, is the beginning all you teach?
Hello I am an airbrush artist and i have been interested in purchasing a Cameo 4 for awhile now and i have been searching for any information on the types of stencil materials the Cameo 4 will cut. I've heard that it can not cut mylar. Is there other types that it will cut? Please help Thank you
Listen, the information that you provided about how to use and what to use was great. But you constantly saying that "it's just your opinion" or "if you disagree then that is perfectly ok", ect. I actually stopped watching your video to switch to someone who just gets to the point. You only have to say that what you're about to say in your video is based solely on your personal opinion one time at the beginning of the video. I felt like you spent half your video trying to make sure you weren't offending anyone. You're talking about crafting. If I went out and found your video to watch then it is because I am looking for an experience person to give me their point of view. It's my job as a decent person and adult to make my own decisions on what I actually use and it's terrible that you legitimately feel like you have to defend what your saying because you're worried about someone being offended. I wish you the best in all you do. Please just don't continue to constantly defend yourself in your video that someone else searched for and chose to watch. You don't have to.
Hey Hobbs, thanks for your opinion and feedback on the video. Believe it or not, crafting is actually pretty cut-throat on videos and crafters feel very passionate about brand loyalty when you "lure" them away from brands they know. I do understand what you are saying and can agree, but I also think your short novel of feedback speaks to my point LOL. Just kidding. Thanks again for stopping by! ---Becky
I have a question; I have the business edition software and ever time I open up the Silouette software program the size of my print is at “L” and I have to go up to the printer icon and change the page setting to “letter” size. How do I fix this?
The print settings may change so you will want to check them before printing. You may be able to change this in the printer settings itself by selecting a default print size.
i’m new to this, i recently just got a cameo and i’m not sure how to use it or connect it to my computer. it’s like it just won’t connect. i’ve watched your videos and i’m a slow learner so i most stuff i still don’t get. i would love it if you could walk me through step by step on how to set everything up and help me figure everything out!
I love your videos. I just unboxed my machine, I'm having trouble finding the ratchet blade. Is there a specific one for the cameo 4? Thanks in advance.
Hi Jackie! Silhouette sketch pens are used for writing. They're great for making invitations, cards, place cards, etc. If you are using HTV for a cut project, we have a helpful tutorial here for you: ua-cam.com/video/ZEe82hcY-xo/v-deo.html 😊
So ive been having major issues with silhouette design studio...only due to them charging me multiple times monthly for apparently the 3 subscriptions that i have all on the same account....that all 3 subs do the same thing lol...i dont even kno how that is legal...lol......either way im dealing with them..well not really but i cut off my banking info from my account and reported them to the BBB!!!..but i really just want to upload my own artwork so i can send it to my cameo....question... if i went a different route wouldnt i still need the designers edition to then upload the svg to my machine?? or am i missing something?? Please help 😊
I have a older as well as a silhouette 4:and I can not get either to down load font downloads even though I buy them from the design store. I keep getting the message saying” the file type you are attempting to access is not supported.
I just purchased the cameo 4 and i am a graphic designer been so frustrated using the cameo studio. I can't for the life of me cut out line without selecting the inside text of my png. I have the autoblade, kraft blade and rotary blade
Hey Nancy, the designs should automatically download for you. So I have two ideas: 1) open your library and sign out then sign back into your cloud account. 2) you can go into your Silhouette account (by clicking the Store button) and find your purchased designs, then manually download. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Vicki, if you use CTRL + K shortcut (or go to Edit > Preferences), then go over to the very last tap (Advanced) then you can click the Restore Factory Defaults for the software. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Thank you Becky for another really informative video, I haven't got my Cameo 4 delivered yet but after watching your videos I cant wait for it to come and get started on this incredible journey with help from your videos, a big thank you.
I am a beginner and just bought a Portrait 3 and I cannot set the cutting right! always get the "registration failed" notice. please advise if you have an episode to explain this problem. thanks
If you print and cut, make sure you print the registration marks (black square in the top left corner and two corner shapes in the bottom left and top right) I found that sometimes if I make a test cut on the material I'm going to cut it will interfere with the registration detection. In that case try printing again and see if the machine likes the new print better ;-) And just to add to the confusion, you can set the machine to manually detect the registration marks by clicking the other dot (I'm using a non English version, so am not sure what the option would be called) below the auto detect option. Then move the cutter head with the little arrow signs in the registration panel so the cutter is pretty much right above the black square and let it try detecting from there. Good luck! You'll be so thrilled when it finally works. Don't give up!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, I just purchased the silhouette business edition. I followed your video. I don't know which icon I may have clicked by mistake but I have this 4 way line following my cursor and it is driving me nuts. Do you know what I may have done. Please help.
Hey Marley! Yes! It's your Crosshairs. You can go to the Page Setup Panel, click on the middle icon and un-check the box. I think you can also use the "H" key on your keyboard. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Oh my Gosh, I did this and it is gone. I can never thank you enough. This was driving me crazy. I am still learning Silhouette Business Edition. I have one more more issue that I need help with please. When I open my SVG it appears as a enormous large design. 18 " x 20 '" etc. Is there a way to preset controls so that it will appear as a smaller size?.

Hello Becky, do you have like Design Bundle U or some plans where a beginner can see videos to get started

Crystal uses this one in her videos - www.heattransferwarehouse.com/walapress-pro-drawer-auto-open-16x20/
Is there one she could recommend around the $300-$500 range.

The software seems to be the most needed videos so we can learn to use it. Will watch for these type videos.
Thank you for watching! =)
So I just bought my cameo yesterday and I feel like I might have made a mistake! Its so overwhelming! I had the old cricut with cartridges...!

Um, does anybody else notice when the Cameo 4 is cutting it almost sound like the 80s version of PacMan?
Thank you for sharing your tips, very useful. I will be back to check more videos when I have more time. Take care
Hi thank you for more information regarding silhoutte machine. I'm still confused regarding to all the material that I need to start my clothing brand. Hope you could help to it.
I inherited a silhouette cameo2. I purchased a ratchet blade but my settings still say auto blade. How do I change it?

Now Imma have to learn a new one😭
a little about the weeding tools. although I have the cameo i do love the circit weed tool, and also I have made my own weel tools by getting wood dowel rod, cut to aout 4 to 6 inches in length. then go to the sewing section of walmart and get some big marine canvas needles, drill a small hole and then press the needle into it.. another weeding tool i like to use is a exacto blade by friskers. nice grip and it sometimes helps to make your own weed lines between words
love you. thank you very much
Glad it helped!
Those were really useful and helpful tips. Thank you for the video
❤ Thank you! ---Becky
Hey i just got my silhouette cameo 4 can you send me a link of the blade, n vinyl u use please
Hey Luz! I use the regular Ratchet blade, you can get them from Amazon and then I personally use Oracal 651 for adhesive vinyl and Stahls brand for heat transfer vinyl. Hope this helps!
Thank you for the info! 3 years later and the Dollar Store no longer sells anything for a dollar, lol! 😂
---Becky
Great video! Do you have a channel of your own? I would love to follow you and learn more about the silhouette.
Hi Becky. I am new to this entire world and have just bought my first Cameo 4 to start a small business. I just want you to know that I find your videos really helpful and practical. See you along the way
Thank you so much Leslie! I'm happy to help and glad you are enjoying and learning from the videos! ---Becky
So glad we were able to help!
I love using a seam cutter for weeding.
Thankyou
I'm so happy to hear the videos are helping!! :) Let us know if you have any questions, we're happy to help :)
Your personality was what kept me tuned in! Good video!
Awwww, thanks! I appreciate that! ---Becky
I put spray tack on old mats to get them yo be sticky again.
You are so welcome! 😊
Thanks!
Glad this video helped! Also, it may depend on the version you are using.
That was very informative thank you so much..I’m new to this and it’s intimidating..would Facebook be a better way to communicate with you?
Actually, it would be easier to send an email in to mail@designbundles.net with any questions. We have a 24/7 support team that is here to help 😊
Have been having a hard time with cutting and want to try the ratchet blade. Did this work for you?
Hi, can you remove something from a photo in silhouette
You mentioned you do one on one classes. Is it possible to connect with you to do this?
Hi there, i really am thinking about getting the cameo 4. Im not a techy person. Do you know if the Pixelbook Go Chromebook works with this machine? Thanks for your help. :)
From what I've looked up, it doesn't sound like Chromebooks are compatible with Silhouette Studio.
Are usually like your videos. But this one seemed rather lame. Not trying to be rude. We’re just wasn’t as fast-paced as I’m used to. But thank you for uploading it
😂
Love your style of teaching. I have the business addition and am still trying to grasp the beginning of Silhouette Studio keep getting stuck with cutting. However, is the beginning all you teach?
What parts are you getting stuck on? Also, what machine do you have? - Brittany
Hello
I am an airbrush artist and i have been interested in purchasing a Cameo 4 for awhile now and i have been searching for any information on the types of stencil materials the Cameo 4 will cut. I've heard that it can not cut mylar. Is there other types that it will cut? Please help
Thank you
Hey there! Great question! I mostly see crafters cutting acetate (or acetate alternatives) to create reusable stencils. Hope this helps! ---Becky
---Becky
Thank you for talking about the Weed Box. I knew nothing about it. It works and saves me vinyl.
How do you make a weeding box?
Hey Gail, you can just draw a box around your design. Just makes it easier to weed and also to save vinyl. Hope this helps! ---Becky
My pleasure
How do I find my image on silhouette
how to do a control right and left please????>
Okay- brand new here and about to purchase a Cameo! Will I be able to create MY OWN original stencils?
You can!
Brilliant and so to the point
What is the best vinyl to use for shirts with the camo 2
Aw man, watching this in 2022 when it's the Dollar Twenty Five store, lmao.
Oh we know 🙈
where can users get the ratchet blade for the cameo 4?
I have a few Cricut machines and I'm considering switching. I feel the same way about their vinyl as well. I prefer Oracal 651.
i’m new to this, i recently just got a cameo and i’m not sure how to use it or connect it to my computer. it’s like it just won’t connect. i’ve watched your videos and i’m a slow learner so i most stuff i still don’t get. i would love it if you could walk me through step by step on how to set everything up and help me figure everything out!
Are you able to plug the cord from your Cameo to your computer?
I love your videos. I just unboxed my machine, I'm having trouble finding the ratchet blade. Is there a specific one for the cameo 4? Thanks in advance.
I want a tour of your craft room. ^_^
Do you need to do the test cut for every project you will do?
Hi. I am a Newby. My question is, how do I use sketch pens and cut with htv for shirts?
Hi Jackie! Silhouette sketch pens are used for writing. They're great for making invitations, cards, place cards, etc. If you are using HTV for a cut project, we have a helpful tutorial here for you: ua-cam.com/video/ZEe82hcY-xo/v-deo.html 😊
Great video, awesome content !!!
Hi Theresa! Could you message mail@designbundles.net ? They should be able to assist you - Agata
Thanks, I went and bought the software from a 3rd party and I save some money! Lol
Thanks for watching! 😊
I just purchased the cameo 4 and i am a graphic designer been so frustrated using the cameo studio. I can't for the life of me cut out line without selecting the inside text of my png. I have the autoblade, kraft blade and rotary blade
I need help and dont know where to find it. I purchased some files from design studio. They downloaded but I dont know how to get them in my library ?
Hey Nancy, the designs should automatically download for you. So I have two ideas: 1) open your library and sign out then sign back into your cloud account. 2) you can go into your Silhouette account (by clicking the Store button) and find your purchased designs, then manually download. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Thank you so much for all you do! I’ve learned so much from your videos!!
We're so glad it was helpful!
I need your help... my silhouette screen is just a mat, no tools . I have a cameo 3 . How do I get the normal screen back
Hey Vicki, if you use CTRL + K shortcut (or go to Edit > Preferences), then go over to the very last tap (Advanced) then you can click the Restore Factory Defaults for the software. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Thank you Becky for another really informative video, I haven't got my Cameo 4 delivered yet but after watching your videos I cant wait for it to come and get started on this incredible journey with help from your videos, a big thank you.
You are so welcome!
I am a beginner and just bought a Portrait 3 and I cannot set the cutting right! always get the "registration failed" notice. please advise if you have an episode to explain this problem. thanks
Hey Shari! Are you using the Print and Cut feature when you receive this message or are you trying to make a regular cut? Let me know! ---Becky
If you print and cut, make sure you print the registration marks (black square in the top left corner and two corner shapes in the bottom left and top right)
I found that sometimes if I make a test cut on the material I'm going to cut it will interfere with the registration detection. In that case try printing again and see if the machine likes the new print better ;-)
And just to add to the confusion, you can set the machine to manually detect the registration marks by clicking the other dot (I'm using a non English version, so am not sure what the option would be called) below the auto detect option. Then move the cutter head with the little arrow signs in the registration panel so the cutter is pretty much right above the black square and let it try detecting from there.
Good luck! You'll be so thrilled when it finally works. Don't give up!
You talk to much, less info
THANK YOU SO MUCH,
I just purchased the silhouette business edition.
