Thanks for your time and content here. I recently purchased a used Cameo 4 and full heat press from the person that was doing my company shirts with HTV. The equipment was a great deal but now I need to learn how to use everything.
Melissa I'm so glad you make these videos! You are such a great instructor! This really helped me as I am cutting htv for the first time. I have always cut regular vinyl and didn't realize how completely different it is to cut and use htv! This saved me a lot of frustration and stress!
Thank you so much. I watched a lot of your videos and I finally got the Cameo 4. I decided on that one since my mother a seamstress and I know she's going to have me doing extra stuff. I was so nervous 😓, but I like the way how you break things down and you don't move to fast. So thank you!!
thanks a lot for this great video. It really helped me to get into HTV cutting (although I use HTV for covers on my self bound books not on T-Shirts). It's very much in detail and really helpful. Appreciate the work you put into it.
Thank you for making this so simple. I got cameo 2 with all of leftover from someone who doesn’t start. So I have been playing around with vinyl and now I want to play with HTV next. 😊. Thank you for the captioning. It helps a lot.
Melissa, you're awesome explaining. Thank you! The only one thing I could say I'd love in your videos is, a better video quality! I suffer trying to see the details at 480p. Thanks again!
Hi Melissa, I’m new to the Silhouette Camo 4 machine and was wondering where to get HTV and what all supplies I need to get started, I know nothing about this at all? Hello I just purchase a cameo 4 can you do a video on how to separate a picture like for example a grinch how do I separate the colors so I can cut separately ?
To create cut lines around and image so you can cut different pieces you will need to trace. I have lots of software videos on tracing in Silhouette Studio on www.SilhouetteU.com or you can check out the free blog post on Silhouette School. www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2016/06/how-to-trace-multi-colored-layered.html
Great video thank you. I'm having a hard time finding just cut settings. I recently used HTVRonton settings on Heat Transfer Smooth (BD 2; Passes 1; Force 4; Speed 8) and the vinyl does not peel off so easy or gets peel completely off. Any of your suggestion? would really help thank you!
@@SilhouetteSchool Thank you for your prompt reply. Do you know why on the HTV Ront recommendations it says force of 5? I'm trying a Cameo 4 from a Cricut 3 and having so much issues with the Cameo 4. I really want to give it a try but its just head breaking😫
You might want to rethink the force setting. I did exactly as you instructed and the blade cut through the carrier. A good cut but useless to transfer to fabric without the carrier.
Hey there! If you're using the auto blade, I would double check that your blade indicator is moving when it taps. Also that your blade is installed fully so that there is no gap between the blade and the clip on the housing.
Love love love this video! Just got the cameo 4 at Walmart earlier this week and been watching a million videos. How long does this vinyl stay on for? Is it good when getting washed? Thinking about making baby onesies as a gift so want to make sure before gifting them. Thanks!

Hi Melissa, thanks for the detailed video! Question: you don't print registration marks, yet your Cameo just normally cutting everything. Mine writes back that it cannot find registration marks hence not cutting. Why/ how so? I'm using regular cameo mat that come with the machine and removable vinyl. Machine did read registration marks when I just made a print out on regular paper with registration marks (not right away but it did). TIA
You do not need registration marks for vinyl or HTV. Only use them for print and cut..for example stickers that are printed on a computer first, then cut with the CAMEO. That's when it would need registration marks.
No, you put the vinyl with the backing on the cutting mat and cut. I would start here www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2022/01/how-to-cut-vinyl-with-silhouette-cameo.html
I have been on it all day. I am new and I watch you over and over and the blade is not reaching the the heat transfer paper. It is all the way in and there is no gap. Makes all this noise and then nothing is carved.

I've had a new problem crop up with my Cameo 4 that I haven't been able to address. It used to go back to the 'load' position after it was finished cutting, just like yours does in the video so you can test the cut. My machine stopped doing that. it now stops with the mat all the way in and I have to hit the unload button multiple times before it unloads, I am unable to do a re-cut if necessary because I can't guarantee that my alignment will be okay! Have you ever seen that before?

Hey there, it's the Silhouette Cameo 4. You can find more information about it on our blog: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/search/label/Silhouette%20CAMEO%204
It depends on the HTV itself. For example, if you are applying HTV to lycra not all HTV will work b/c it doesn't all have the right amount of stretch - you want to make sure the HTV can be used on the fabric where you are applying it.

14 for HTV and vinyl

Will the vinyl come off in the washing machine?
Not if it’s been applied correctly!
