    I've watched several reviews of this laptop and yours is, by far, the most useful I've seen. No one else talks about how to use many of the available features ... They just blather on about specs. Thank you!

    27:40 spot on about this. I thought I would have a hard time but now I actually prefer it. The movement is more natural to slide your right arm side to side to get to the touchpad as if reaching for a mouse. Recently had to use a regular laptop and I hatedddd using the bottom touchpad

    Great review. I make the smaller screen as my primary display, which brings the task bar to the bottom. The laptop remembers which screen you last used for a program and re opens where you left off so it works practically.

    Great thorough review! Thanks! I bought this Zenbook pro duo recently and still learning how to use it so your overview is very helpful. One thing I found to help with crossing the taskbar along the "edge of screen" is in the "edge lock" settings in the MyAsus" tool that you can toggle. It basically works when the cursor gets to the bottom edge of the first screen (or top of the second screen), the cursor will lock for a second before going to the other screen.

    Great review!
    The best I've seen so far.
    Thanks much.
    It was practical, not fan boyish and on one of the machines I'm thinking really hard about getting.
    A few questions
    - I'm not seeing on Amazon (US) the configuration I'd want of a 3070 card with an i7 and 32 GB memory. Do you know anywhere else I could customise it to such?
    - Were you able to open it and upgrade any parts?
    - I know this is subjective, but would you use it as your everyday carry? I'm torn between it, the new Macs and the ProArt studio also from Asus
    - At minute 30:30 I think your said a "new version" is coming out soon. Were you referring to a new version of this laptop. Cuz Id really like to see if they could improve on this ... like TB4 instead of TB3, and an SD card reader.
    This dual screen concept is really something I hope I could get used to. I love to multi task. But then again those new Macs really look efficient. I'm looking into going into content creation.
    Thanks again

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  2 роки тому +1

      I think there is only a few skews available. I didn't see 1TB/32GB with i7. Only with i9. I didn't attempt to open the laptop. Not sure if any company trust me to open devices whilst I don't even trust myself. Whilst I think the new MacBook is a good machine, I can't use MACs for my work. Also, I always prefer a desktop to do work on, then a thinner and lighter laptop for everyday carry. But obviously everyone is different. I've heard 11th gen is around the corner. I don't know the specifics, but I feel like TB4 is quite likely.

    It's most appealing to me that the touchpad is right, it's where I have my mouse and I'm left-handed. It's really annoying to have the touchpad in the middle because like you said both hands fighting there and my right mouse hand blocks partially the left hand accessing the keyboard.

    I'm considering getting the UX582 version, this review was very helpful and detailed.
    One thing that I wanted to ask is how was the cooling performance for long usage? (6-8 hours)
    Sorry in advance if this offended you, I think the way you explained was a bit slow and I had to use 1.25x playback to enjoy the content but nevertheless good content. Maybe this can be improved in the future video

      Playing however fast is totally up to you. I wish I can speak faster, but I can't. And everyone's time is valuable, listen to it X2 if you want to :)
      I don't think you will experience much difference in cooling performance 30 min vs. 6 hours as it will reach its max cooling capacity quite quickly. (as to most of laptops) it was coiled quite well as I didn't hear fan going full tilt on even very demanding tasks. But your millage may vary.

    Hey great review! Would you know if you map the smaller screen to act as a normal pen tab for the bigger screen?
    I'm on the verge of buying it since it replicates my work setup really well, I use a screen pen tab as my second screen but remap the input to the bigger screen. So while I draw on the smaller screen and have my references up on it, the actual drawing (photoshop,etc) happens on the bigger screen. Does that make sense?

    Love your reviews!
    A question for you: I am an industrial designer looking for a new computer and leaning towards the zenbook pro duo as I love the features it has and the ability to multi-task with the additional screen and the ability to use the touchscreen and stylus to create sketches.
    But here's the thing, I'm working mostly with solidworks, keyshot, Adobe suit and PowerPoint, and more than often use some of those at the same time. Do you think this computer can handle that or will I force it to do stuff that are too much for it?
    I am worried that the 32 gigs of ram and the not optimized for solidworks gpu (not a quadro) will not be enough for what I do.
    Will you recommend it for my kind of usage?
    Thank you!

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  2 роки тому +2

      I have not used Solidworks extensively and lack in what it requires. I think you would be loading CPU more so than GPU. Also, I do not think you will need Quadro for this. In a lot of cases, I find 32GB to be sufficient, but I suppose you can fill that up with very large project files.

      @@JosephKim I'm planning to get the 12th gen version of this! Do you think they would address the problems you raised? I really need the second screen to keep me in my multi-tasking workflow as a Motion Graphics Designer. However, the new Zenbook Pro 16X looks to have addressed most of the issues people don't like about the Pro Duo 15 and the heat dissipation of it. Do you think I should choose the extra screen over performance? (Heat dissipation) Thanks so much in advance!

      @@JosephKim Not exactly, Pro Duo is already cooling efficient. However, the cooling system on the Zenbook Pro 16X is derived from the Pro Duo's and they made it better, so users could enjoy even more wild performance. Hence, I'd like to know your opinion on the cooling system of the Pro Duo. Do you think it's still good enough to handle a 12th gen i9 or should I choose the ZBP 16X? I'm torn between the new cooling solution and an extra screen. Since you're also a creative professional, I'd be very delighted to hear your take on the current cooling system of the Zenbook pro duo and how it might fare with an 12th gen core i9. 😁😁

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  2 роки тому +1

      @@Curios_Cat it honestly was really good IMO. But 12th gen is hot, so I don't know how much they were able to tune it to make it run really well. At least in my case, my tasks aren't too CPU heavy, so I'd go for extra screen even if the CPU isn't faster.
