Very excellent review, just what I was looking for, having just bought this. Agree with you on the usability of right side touchpad, which I enjoy, and may not add the trackball I normally do - very nice. Thank you so much for your effort.
Great thorough review! Thanks! I bought this Zenbook pro duo recently and still learning how to use it so your overview is very helpful. One thing I found to help with crossing the taskbar along the "edge of screen" is in the "edge lock" settings in the MyAsus" tool that you can toggle. It basically works when the cursor gets to the bottom edge of the first screen (or top of the second screen), the cursor will lock for a second before going to the other screen.
Really good review, thank you. I wish it had a full size or micro SD card slot. I do alot of video editing and I go back and fourth between both sized cards so that was one thing I wish was in the IO.

I think there is only a few skews available. I didn't see 1TB/32GB with i7. Only with i9. I didn't attempt to open the laptop. Not sure if any company trust me to open devices whilst I don't even trust myself. Whilst I think the new MacBook is a good machine, I can't use MACs for my work. Also, I always prefer a desktop to do work on, then a thinner and lighter laptop for everyday carry. But obviously everyone is different. I've heard 11th gen is around the corner. And everyone's time is valuable, listen to it X2 if you want to :) I don't think you will experience much difference in cooling performance 30 min vs. 6 hours as it will reach its max cooling capacity quite quickly. Do you think I should choose the extra screen over performance? (Heat dissipation) Thanks so much in advance!
@@JosephKim Not exactly, Pro Duo is already cooling efficient. However, the cooling system on the Zenbook Pro 16X is derived from the Pro Duo's and they made it better, so users could enjoy even more wild performance. Yes
Is there a quick way to restart this cpu??
Just the CPU? I don't understand.
Is the screen only 60hz or can you lower resolution to 1080p and get more than 60hz? Thanks
It is fixed at 60 unfortunately.
@@JosephKim thanks 🙏
Does the stylus pen work on the trackpad?
No, I don't think so.
Is the battery in-built or detachable?
Built in.
@@JosephKim is it advisable to charge the battery while using the laptop?
You charge whenever you want to. I'd say it doesn't matter.
@@JosephKim ok thanks bro. was just wondering because some says that if we charge the battery while using a laptop, it will shorten the battery life. hahaha! idk. not too sure actually. thanks for the respond.
Hey, where do I get the laptop stand?
That was included in the box (should be with the purchase)
@@JosephKim Ah, sadly mine didn't come with one. :( Thank you for your time.
@@user-iy6ko1bz4y u threw away?
My button when you hold the window down that is supposed to pop up is gone. I don’t know what it’s called to fix it! Please help!
Sorry, I'm not sure what you are referring to. Are you talking about the task bar?
Sorry, i’m really bad with computers. Like when you were demonstrating the snap ability of the zenbook by holding down the top of the screen and the 2 buttons would appear for you to easily switch the screen to the bottom monitor. My buttons to do that are not popping up.
@@JosephKim I hope that is easier to understand!
@@lanedunavin68 I think you are talking about Screenpad Plus? I had to look it up too :)
@@JosephKim 13:23 in the video. Your screen shows 2 buttons when you hover on the window. Mine has recently stopped showing those and I can’t figure out why!
how about temperature idle and heavy load
It was quite well managed. Compared to other laptops, it seem to be cooling very effectively.
@@JosephKim thanks :) is it go to 100c when Heavy load
@@OshadhaMadhumal it didn't on my testing, but I also wasn't just loading it with heavy synthetic test.
@@JosephKim thanks
Would you so happen to recommend a type of cooling pad/stand for this? I have this laptop, and one of the things I'm most concerned about is all the heat that the laptop generates.
In the unboxing video, I showed the eveation pad that was included in the box.
@@JosephKim I know, it's just that it's already being unsticky .
👍

Is one handed opening really importNt. Smh? Want to attach a pen to your unit?. Ever hear of velcro?.
It is not really important, but it shows the enginuity and efforts making laptop better. There are some that doesn't have rubber feet and small ledge on the screen for me to have hard time opening with two hands.
Thank you very much for review and response. Hey for the pen just use Velcro and stick pen to side of screen. That's what I'll do. Cheers.

@@JosephKim I'm planning to get the 12th gen version of this! Do you think they would address the problems you raised? I really need the second screen to keep me in my multi-tasking workflow as a Motion Graphics Designer. However, the new Zenbook Pro 16X looks to have addressed most of the issues people don't like about the Pro Duo 15 and the heat dissipation of it. Do you think I should choose the extra screen over performance? (Heat dissipation) Thanks so much in advance!
@@Curios_Cat I didn't find pro duo to be too hot. Maybe because it wasn't as powerful?
@@JosephKim Not exactly, Pro Duo is already cooling efficient. However, the cooling system on the Zenbook Pro 16X is derived from the Pro Duo's and they made it better, so users could enjoy even more wild performance. Hence, I'd like to know your opinion on the cooling system of the Pro Duo. Do you think it's still good enough to handle a 12th gen i9 or should I choose the ZBP 16X? I'm torn between the new cooling solution and an extra screen. Since you're also a creative professional, I'd be very delighted to hear your take on the current cooling system of the Zenbook pro duo and how it might fare with an 12th gen core i9. 😁😁
@@Curios_Cat it honestly was really good IMO. But 12th gen is hot, so I don't know how much they were able to tune it to make it run really well. At least in my case, my tasks aren't too CPU heavy, so I'd go for extra screen even if the CPU isn't faster.
