The diversity of subject matter in these portfolios is one very interesting aspect of them. Yes, we come to Adams for a certain type of photograph but there's more to him than that. Saying that, the grand vista is something he does SO well, and I personally find it evokes a sense of awe and wanderlust in me. 20 or so years ago I did see some of Adam's prints at the V & A in London, they were as good as you've heard!

I have the first print of all of his books. I found them about 25 years ago in a used book store. $5 for each one.
compared to other adams' books, this is my least favorite. it's poorly printed imo. i'm not sure which version i have though.
Think this is one that's been reprinted over the years. I must be due to do another Ansel Adams video soon....!?

@@RobinsBookClub I've got candlestick point and it's one of my favourites. I've always wanted to see San Quentin point but it's hard to get because the new printings aren't sold separately, they come in a $1500 box set.
