Know your Pepper Spray Patterns:
Stream - Shoots out like a water gun, great for single targets and is less prone to wind blow-back than fog.
Fog - Excellent for handling multiple threats and creating barriers for home defense, but highly prone to blowback from windy conditions.
Foam - Sprays out like a fire extinguisher. Coats the threat, which digs into the skin. Problem is that it can be thrown back at you. Great for enclosed spaces, as it produces no fumes; no worries about cross-contamination.
Gel - Sprays out like a water gun, just like a Stream unit. Spray side to side, or ear to ear, as well. Like foam, it does not produce fumes; very minimal chance of cross-contamination.
