Never Fight Plugged Cigars Ever Again

  • One of the beautiful things about cigars is their unique handmade nature. There aren't machines that pump out premium cigars. Each one is hand crafted by skilled cigar makers who have made it their life's mission to produce excellent cigars. But that also gives cigars one inherent flaw - human error. Cigar rollers are good at what they do, but they don't get it right 100% of the time. And even when it is right, there are things like humidity and temperature that can kill the draw on a great cigar. So it's important to have a good game plan for when you encounter a plugged cigar. In this video, I'll take you through the PerfecDraw, a draw enhancing tool that is touted as the best on the market. Let's see how well it really works.

I'm surprised you didn't mention another use I use it for all the time. That is when the cigar gets down to a stub and gets too hot to hold comfortable. I use the Easy Draw to hold the stub. Just shove it in at an angle and you can smoke that stick down to an inch or less.

Bought one about a year ago after buying a $15 cigar that was completely plugged that I had to toss. Used it a few times since then and it's helped every time. If I can feel the plug I'll usually try to poke it, pull back slightly and then try to poke it again a couple of times at slightly different angles. Recommend it to anyone that smokes cigars frequently.

The Perfec Draw tool has been worth its weight in gold to me. As someone who has easy access to cubans (which no matter what anyone says are far more prone to being plugged or tight draw) and more budget cigars it has helped me save $100s of dollars worth of cigars. Soon to be $1000s cuz Canadian taxes on tobacco are absurd.

I have the Perfect Draw, and the Perfect Repair cigar repair glue. Both I’ve used a fair amount already, and figure I’ll use time and time again lol. But I will say, the first time you repair a few cigars draw with the perfect Draw tool, it’s already paid for itself. When you can save a cigar, and get your money’s worth out if it, instead of tossing it in the trash, that makes the tool worth it instantly. Perfect Repair cigar glue is the same way. We all accidentally drop cigars, or sometimes they crack while smoking, or the wrapper leaf peels up when you take the band off. All will be repaired with the Perfect Repair! My most recent repair, was with a Padrón 1964 Anniversary 45 years in Maduro. In the shop I buy from it’s a 29.95 stick! I took it out of my humidor, and looked it over before I cut the cap, and toasted it. And bam there it was a hole in the side, right below the cap line. So I knew that was gonna leak air, and smoke. So I took out my Perfect Repair glue and dabbed some in the hole, filling it in, and sealing it off. Done, nearly 30 dollar cigar repaired, and saved. That time I knew the glue paid for itself for sure, the cigar cost more than the glue.

I have found using the perfect cutter with a drilling /cutting technique works best without ripping out a bunch of tobacco leaf.
Use a constant drilling/cutting motion and advance the length of the cutter section only and remove. It’s important to keep the drilling/cutting in both directions.
Then repeat and advance twice the length of the cutter section and remove. Continue as needed. This is like using a drill bit in wood or metal. Your are cutting the in both directions and removing a smaller amount of tobacco. This also avoids ripping out a lager pice of tobacco that might snag on the cutter.
Yes in a pinch you can use a $3 1/16x 8 drill bit by hand ( not with a power tool -Tim the tool man fans) to do the small thing. The results are not as good.
I love my perfect cutter. I bought mine from cigars daily. It’s paid for it self many times over. Great tool for cigar smokers.

I did add a perfecdraw tool into my amazon cart anyway cause lets be honest, it looks cooler than a skewer stick. But I thought I would add that it works just as well, plus there was no tobacco tear out. If you had a wooden toothpick or bamboo bbq skewer, and dont have the perfecdraw tool yet, but you need something now -try reaching in the cupboard for a toothpick or a skewer. I've tried using the pick on my pipe smokers czech tool with zero success, just ramming it thru the cigar, I guess the barbs make all the difference in opening a channel. A loose draw is equally has awful but at least its smokable.

I keep hesitating to buy one. But I know as soon as I get a plugged cigar I’ll be cursing myself

Question. Since this tool creates a hole through the center of the cigar, has anyone experienced tunneling while smoking after use? Just curious before I decide to buy. Thanks.

Nope. I smoke a cigar every night and have probably used it on 10 cigars the last year and haven’t had tunneling issues. Just try to make the pokes about as even as possible like center, right center then left center etc and you’ll be fine and you’ll get the hang of it on how to use it after like the second time not all that complicated. Excellent tool and a MUST have IMO.

I need to buy myself one of these. I just started smoking cigars and no lie…three in a row have had a tight draw causing little to no smoke. 😂😂😂
