What is a list of things i should purchase when i start my grow. i have watched the video on the 2x4 vivosun 2x4 setup. i am trying to figure out the best soil also
i used to have a radio in my tent and sing to the plants, they love rock and roll and soft rock . i would stay in the tent for 20 mins just looking at the plants , and sing loud
Don't waste your money on flashy fancy nutrients promising ridiculous outcomes stick to the basics at a reasonable price like General Hydroponics trust me GH will work just as good as advanced nutrients at 1/3 the price.
Dude I’ve been trying to tell people this. I have an outdoor veggie garden with large very hungry pepper and tomato plants. Simple setup, layer of compost, then a layer of compost / top soil mixed in my wheel barrel then weekly fish emulsion feedings from a 7 dollar bottle from Lowe’s that will last me all year. When they start to flower I’ll change the food. Tomatoes and marijuana are sooooo similar even to the way they don’t like their leaves wet. These small startups are pushing glorified products at huge margins to capitalize on people getting into growing with no experience and it’s causing word of mouth to drive all these unneeded products. I got suckered in, it wasn’t until I started growing other harvestable plants that I realized the gimmick. But that’s how everything works :). Just think, yield is technique, growing in general has been happening for thousands of thousands of years.
That’s not even talking about compost, a good compost negates the need for almost all supplements. You just feed new compost into your soil every couple of weeks
You don’t even need that. You really don’t need any kind of products. Compost and aged woodchips. Both of which can be obtained or created for free. Marijuana is one of the simplest plants to grow. It doesn’t require really any kind of special care to obtain a high quality crop, just basic care. I’ve grown pepper varietirs that were more difficult than weed
@@TheLittleSpoon1982really compost and rabbit shit. The best bud and best looking plant I ever grew was in a half compost half rabbit shit mix. Only added fresh rabbit shit every couple of weeks. Best thing about raising rabbits is the very best fertilizer and feed you at the same time lol
@@paulveenings6861 actually it's been proven that it does not work. The vibrations from the music are insignificant compared to the average oscillating House Fan. You sir have been bamboozled
@@VineyardGHS You are right in a sense. Yes the music does nothing but what about all the CO2 from playing your instrument and hard breathing in the tent. So in a roundabout way they did like the classical music. Happy 420 all and stay stoned!!
A buddy of mine who got me into growing indoors does hydroponic. I chose dirt because we do occasionally lose power, and from the sound of hydro, you can lose a crop pretty fast if the power goes out while you're at work. Dude freaks out every time we have a storm, and we are at work.
They have backup systems for sump pumps, in case your electricity goes down it prevents your basement from flooding. You could probably retrofit one of those to a hydroponic system.
I grow hydro and I have an 800 watt battery back up for my air pumps and my water pumps. So if the power does go out I have a good long time of run time.
I've been out of the game for a decade, and a lot has changed. Just getting back into it, and your videos have been helping. Easy to watch and listen to. Thank you.
The ac infinity pro controller totally changed my grow. Totally automated, I can shut the lights off and turn the exhaust up if company is coming over. Setting the parameters on the controller is a game changer. I gave all my fans away and now have a 4", 6" and 8" along with the ac plug for my lights.
The cats make more Co2 than the shroom bags. So does a gas water heater or stove. Cook dinner and pet the kittys, you're pushing 1000ppm. I also noticed if you live near a busy road, it runs high (700ish), not so much in my country home (400 in the sticks) The round Oled display monitors (PTHD) are a good investment for about $75 and agree with the Inkbird within 10ppm. They're rechargeable and portable, fun to carry around. I have a full Co setup with the Inkbird controller, and it does work, but conditions have to be perfect (heat & humidity) to use it. During the heat of summer, forget it unless you're running mega AC/Dehumidification gear. PH/EC meters - Bite the bullet and buy Blue lab or other quality unit. Buy once, cry once. Cheap ones are no deal. Worse is the damage they do to your plants when they are wrong, I keep 2 to check against each other. Terrabloom is another top product lineup. Their fans come with a digital & analog control and remote interface cable all standard in the box, all with waterproof o-ringed locking cable connectors. Terrabloom or AC all the way on fans and carbon filters. Hope my long post helps some people out. Peace.
That's brilliant, free C02. I'm using a C02 generator I got from Amazon for $25, that uses two 2 liter bottles with citric acid and baking soda. I don't think it would do much for a large area but for my small homemade grow tent it is putting out enough. It's definitely better than those mushroom bags, and a lot cheaper.
I live in Alaska. I pull air in from outside with my 4in Infinity for fresh CO2 and to help with heat! Having the 8in fan, & the the Pro 69 really helps while using the Evo10 for lighting in a 5x5. Glad the drivers are removable. 😁
Molasses delivers carbon straight to the roots in the form of sugar. Instead of worrying about CO2 just use molasses in your watering can. 1 to 3 Tbsp per gallon
Plant roots don't uptake sugar. In fact, your roots EXCRETE sugar to feed the bacteria. Using molasses doesn't do anything more than give your bacteria in the medium a snack, and if your bacteria is eating sugar its not breaking down the organic material you want it to be breaking down.
I am an advanced gardener with many years of experience, but I am new to growing cannabis. I have used my general gardening skills with my first grow... starting with my own home made, nutrient rich compost. I have found my gardening techniques work quite well with cannabis. My first plant is almost ready to harvest. It is covered with sticky, frosty buds, and smells great. Next, I will be learning about the drying and curing process.
@michaelrichards899 thats absolutely the way to go if you have the money, but for a 4 plant garden it's much cheaper to use the bags. I found a used one for $1,350, they are crazy expensive. If I ever start doing more than personal, I will definitely go that route. They also has the freeze technique, which is basically instant cure. I don't know of I trust that though
Great channel! I need to preface my comment… Buy the best gear you can. Do your research! But, if you're just starting out and on a budget. Here is my number one bit of advice. Don't spend a lot on a tent. I bought two tents, 15 years ago. A 5x5 and 4x4/1x4 combination tent. They cost a bit over two hundred dollars, in total. I have grown a dump truck full of weed with them and they are still going strong. The 4x4/1x4? Doesn't even have a brand name attached to it. The 5x5 is a Topogrow. That's not even a thing! The point is… no tent ever grew a stick of cannabis. Genetics, lights, nutrients, and proper growing practices. That's the ticket! My very first grow tent? I made it. I used panda film and PVC piping. It was 3x6. I still use the light that was in it. I learned how to grow with that homemade tent.
one certainly gets what you all pay for. Spend cheaply it WILL be replaced. I have been growing for 30 years or so and i find the use of carbon dioxide will improve your yields, IF USED CORRECTLY. I had reach the Eshilawn of progress before the CO2 was added. i RAN IT AT Daytime (PLANT LIGHT). i have received with an identical test without it and the clone using carbon dioxide produced approximately 7% more viable flower weight. It in all how one uses it. Happy growing and live well
When I was a noob 25 years ago, I just used the plain old ph up and down (NEVER needed up) and test drops. Still all I use now that laws have changed in this state and I can get into my hobby again. Ph isn’t mysterious. It’s quite simple really. Especially since there’s now automatic ph adjusting nutrients. All you REALLY need is good light good dirt and 6.5 water. Everything else you learn on subsequent crops.
Totally agree about the pH pens. Get a good one right off the bat. I screwed up an awesome grow that turned to crap because the pen went south and didn't read properly.
I love my blue lab ph pen so much and ph water brings a whole new game to growing. So much better then not ph the water u use What I am gonna splurge on is a ppm meter And ac infinity is the best stuff out I love my controller inline fan/filter setup with the oscillating fan n the fact it works in unison is even better
I have been sterilizing my soil for years by laying it on a piece of old metal roofing and hitting it with a flame thrower from the box store for melting ice. Turns all the old spider roots into carbon and thats a good thing for the soil. I have used this for all my vegetable garden start ups too.
son of a bean, I've spent close to a grand on AC stuff in the past month, wish I would've found that code sooner! Lucky for me I still have a couple things to get & the code is still good! Thanks, great video
Just use PH test indicator liquid. The bottle will last you forever, and neck to neck with an expensive PH pen. I literally spent an entire grow cycle comparing them. Liquid all the way. You have to continually calibrate the best pen tester.
Been burn in the past with those, unfortunately. Since the ph changes with nutes, they don't usually work when using any liquid nutrients after testing your water.
@Highigan you all don't pH after your nutes are added? They always change the pH for me. I run a rdwc system and I add my silica then my nutes then my bennies then test and adjust before adding to my bucket.
Obviously if you’re using exhaust fans, co2 is getting pulled out of your space and wouldn’t help your plant lol. I did what almost everyone suggested online and had an exhaust fan in my 12x12 grow room starting out. After a few years of research I pulled out my exhaust fan and added co2, my harvest have almost doubled. The size difference in bud structure is unbelievable. If you’re worried about smell an outside air filter will do the same. There is more than enough air exchange if you check your plants once a day
You are correct, CO2 does not make sense for home growers with smaller tents and exhaust, its just a waste. Esp if you are new and still learning to grow! Def benefits if you are an experienced grower killing it!
I'm running a 4in in a 4x4, ac infinity. It is loud I would get 6in if I did it again but it's up there above a se7000 so it's staying there lol I agree 100%
If you are able to bring in fresh air you won’t need to buy co2… as the PH pens go.. I filter my water thru brita filters water comes out 6.5 … I’d pay good money for LED lights
I don't use filters and i have a ac infinity 6in speed control ducting booster style fan in a 2by4 on low clean once a year and its over 3 years old now and im going to replace soon but it's still going just fine maybe a tiny vibration but 24 hours a day for over 3 years AC INFINITY PERIOD 👍
I use 7 inch honeywell fans on a timer hung with zipties and one as an intake. Does pretty much the same as what an intake fan does. My tent stays around 70F. More air will cool it down further something i do not want
Just discovered your videos as a new grower and your vids have helped loads very simple no time wasting and informative keep up the great work and pove from Scotland ❤️💚
Yeah my set up is. Gorilla tent 2x2 with a 1 foot extension in height so it’s taller then I am and I’m 6’. Ac infinity cloudline 4” in-line fan, an the s22 light, 6” clip fan, 5gallon fabric pots, and the controller. Using fox farm ocean forest. We are allowed two plants for rec in my location so 2x2 was a smart move when it was on sale
I run all ac infinity products except the grow light. Spent $525 instead of almost $1000 with the same Samsung LM301H LEDs from kingbrite. Grow tent, exhaust fan, and pots are all AC infinity. They make quality products and they know who they're selling to lol
If you grow outside not a good idea to use dolomite lime in moderate amounts it will kill your worm population and you want the worms. Keep that in mind, you want to feed the microbiological life in soil so in return they feed your plant. That’s why people like caligrownbuds uses microbial beneficial teas.
Oh, I just plan on putting 1 tbsp into the bottom half of 7 gallon pots, but I deeply appreciate your input here, friend. I'm all about a vibrant, balanced living soil 💚
So you’re advising that if someone has well water with a ph of 9 that a little dolomite lime is going to buffer that down? Lol how long have you been growing mate?
Its always a great idea to use more than 1 light in the grow area , this way you can adjust height levels for different sized plants . And always get an extra light to have ready in case one burns out . Organic grows only need a soil tester to test occasionally , no PH pen is necessary . I have been growing for 35 years and never used a PH pen . 20% perlite in your soil mix is a must for soil root development . 1/4 dose nutrients and cal mag , or a good molasses at every watering for less chance of issues . Fabric pots are best , never plastic , unless it's over sized . Fresh air , not CO2 is common sense . All the gadget's and gizmos are really only necessary for hydro or dwc systems . AND ! It's always a good idea to test your grow skills first on a cheap pack of seeds , like basil or tomatoes . If you can grow them , you surely can grow a weed !
I have 7 raised beds out back in my garden. They are 3'x12' so all my used soil goes there. I go 100% organic in both indoor and outdoor. By the way , I bought one of those ph pens using your code. Like you I have spent hundreds of dollars on junkie ones that dont last a whole grow.
Thanks fam appreciate that and your support! They have been the most reliable and easiest to use! Love the organic! We wanna do some raised beds when we get a house hopefully soon!
If you are growing a lot it's best to buy your soil from a Nursery . I will call them and tell them what material and amendments I need in my soil and they will deliver right to your door . It will cost around 4 to $500 for a truck load but if you bought bags and soil and mix the same amount you will probably spend 2 to 3k plus all the time wasted.
I have always made my own composted soil. The only bottle nutrients I ever use is cal/mag ,silicate and unsulfared molasses during the flowering stage. I grow entirely organic otherwise.
Apera pens for the win!!! Best advice ever to never buy an 11 dollar yellow pH pen as you’re better off just tasting your water and guessing instead of using the yellow Amazon pen. Great video guys.
a few other things...if you want to propagate cuttings you don't have to spend $$$ on a fancy cloning device and even solution. Just use SHARP tools and you can root them in a cup of water! It might take a few extra days but it works. Also, don't reuse your soil if you've had pest issues like root aphids or root mealybugs unless you bake it between grows.
I drop the cutting right into a cup of soil and put it in a plastic bag to keep the moisture in and put them out in the window sill. I get nearly a 100% clone success no rooting hormone or anything just water and potting soil. I have clones ready usually within two three weeks.
Amazing informational video! I've been growing on and off for 25yrs and not once have I used CO2. I had the CO2 tanks from a restaurant that closed, but didn't bother. Great points! I haven't used my PH pen in a very long time. You'll get the hang of it soon enough! Thanks for discount codes, helped when I got my 2 ace infinity clip fans and an inline fan! Love your content as always!
I believe Vivosun exhaust fans would be a pretty good option. You can also control those too and there cheaper then ac infinity ones. I've had mines for over a year and it's just as new!!
vivo has upped their game for sure over the years compared to where we started, ac has a more complete integrated system it might cost a little more but having used products from both I think AC infinity has them beat in the quality and service department.
Is this the son of Scotty Real? The voice is very similar and sounds like a younger version. If you have a spot outside you can keep two batches of dirt and swap them out after each grow. This gives you time for amending the soil and gives it time to recover. My friend had a good size little grow operation and he threw the soil out after each crop. I always thought that was a waste. It's not going to hurt the quality but I don't think it's worth it, and soil can be reconditioned. I made part of my soil and bought part of it. But I have a big compost pile that should be ready by the time these plants are finished. I spray water on the compost pile and it gets the stuff cooking faster. I'm going to look into what I can add to it to accelerate it.
I actually just started and got stuck with a complete spider farmer set up. As you already set was tempted to go the very cheap line but figured that I will only loose. Now I have a proper light, tent and fan. Same experience I had with soil as I went bio but terra preta which just got to hard in the end for the roots and my seedling did not further develop in the process. Changed the soil and added nutritions on the correct ph and it works.
@@WheezyCook I am really happy with it very beginner friendly. It is my first grow and growing from seed no issue so far :) I only recommend getting a heating matt if you live in a colder area to keep the tent nice warm.
A friend of mine grows mushrooms and schedules the colonization of the spawn bag during the bloom phase of their garden. They get to enjoy magic mushrooms with their bud.
Yep I use ac infinity in-line with controller 69 pro controllers ac infinity tents, also the clip fans but I use spiderfarmer leds. Love the app to track everything and the graphed data etc fantastic stuff the best 👍👍👍luv the way you can monitor the grows from anywhere through the app connected to your WiFi it’s amazing checking the grow when am doing the shopping lol fab !!!!
I had a funny experience, I went.In my grow room,it's only about10'×12'×8'.I went in ,the floor felt funny.Like damp, and I smelled rain. The humidity was about 92 percent, and 62 degrees.I don't have it vented to the outside. It was just a funny thing that happen, love you guys.
Even I make my own soil I still reuse, just having it sitting aside waiting for rainy season to start and let it revitalize by rainwater. Still need a little bit liquid fertilizer for my Dark Devil Auto in 20l pots, otherwise they might leg nutritions to develop their purple colour.
Appreciate the content guys continuously getting better. Hope everybody appreciates the time thought effort and production that go into the videos. Watching your channel grow makes me as happy as watching my plants grow. Great content as usual guys, y’all are surely headed to the top tier of cannabis content creators, more blessings and more life🤝
I bought a 1500 w (yeah right) blurple light last year. First grow went ok but the second cycle has been brutal...my plant went into the no till soil on november 6th. Perfectly healthy, zero deficiencies present but here I am in april, 3 weeks into flower and my plant is slightly taller than a paper towel roll. New growers, dont cheap out on your light...pay for a good one and avoid dwarf plants that take 6 months to produce anything.
@@davidmassengill5290 that's exactly what I'm going to use mine for too. Ordered a newer better budget grow light (viparspectra xs 2000). I have incredibly tight noding with the blurple and I'm fine with that happening when the plant is young, so long as I have a light that will stretch it after.
@@robk5865 right on.. The vs2000 should work well for you. Thats exactlly what it seems to do for me.. Keeps my inernodal spacing tight.. From what ive read i think its actually the heavy blue light spectrum in the blurple LEDs that does that. Ive also been told that they like more blue light in veg/ early in and more red during flower so maybe you cld use it as a sort of flower booster as well.. Along with the viparspectra
@@davidmassengill5290 I've read that about the blue spectrum in my blurple and I'm confused by it lol...If blue only is best for veg, then why the extremely tight noding? I've done a fair bit of lollipopping here and my buds still look like pineapple tops.
@@robk5865 i mean that a blurple light typically will have its spectrum high and blue and red and that the fact that its high in blue helps in veg to keep the node spacing tight.. Im not sure what u mean as far as your confused about it.. Your confused why u didnt have tight spacing? May just not be strong enough in.. Either way a more "full" spectrum light like the vs2000 will do better throughout the whole grow cycle
You guys are too cute, love your videos! Been growing for my wife and I for about 15 years and I have tried SO HARD to get her into it but she is good to just sit back and enjoy the fruits of my labor hehe. As a semi-veteran grower I have to say these tips are all spot on, it's so easy to waste money in the beginning so you guys are saving new growers loads of $$$ and headaches. I am working through your channel now and see a lot of great videos I can't wait to watch, I especially enjoyed the build out video in your new home, Peanut Butter & JEALOUS!!!! It is seriously my dream to have a set up like that, so I know how pumped you both must have been. Thanks for the great videos and sharing your set up and experience!
Great video guys i use CO2 but i dont waist money on it cause i make it my self and i always reuse my soil its only now i have to use new soil as mine went moldy in storage cause my worms died in my soil
The soil thing is a good thing to reuse. Only thing I'd suggest is giving a good flush after using it to flower in (probably obvious) but I had too much potassium left in the soil and it locked out copper. Plant still grew but didn't look As good until after the flush. Also bottled water instead of tap=greatness
I use spring water for the first couple weeks, then switch to well water. I use only organic fertilizers and then only organic amendments. Do you think that it needs a nutrient flush when running 100% organic? Thanks.
I learned the hardway that most guides regarding inline ventilation are super outdated. You don't need that big of a ventilation with LED compared to old NDL lights.
Don’t let the ph sensor dry out, whichever you use. We teach newcomers who are in need of medicine who can’t afford top shelf until they see if it’s for them and the yellow Amazon has been performing ok a yr out. Kept moist. Back it up with paper from time to time. Until such time one can afford apiera. Ph- 60
Lighting is the most important thing honestly. Just remember we are trying to replicate the sun, so bigger hotter lights will yield more than LEDs and CFL. Bluelab pens and truncheons are amazing.
Not true! Hotter lamps will decrease the quality and yield. LED is the best option for lights, HPS is also good because it has some UV & IR but the light output is better with LED's.
Bigger and hotter is the exact opposite of what you want in an 'indoor grow. Smaller, Cooler, brighter(with good specteum)= LED. also saving your electric bill.
Reusing substrate is great. Under a table I have a huge plastic bin and a smaller one. I put the grown pots( leafy greens and old microgreens in it) . After a month or two I move it to the large one. To that I've added scraps or hardwood dowels, leaf litter( bought for bioactive reptile tanks) I don't pull any roots out. I also throw in dried shriveled veggies to break down and have mixed in a bio booster like I do my tanks. If I still had guinea pigs, their poop would go in. My tanks have lots of isopods, dwarf whites which pretty much stay in the substrate with the springtails and in and out of it is powdered orange isopods. Depending on the time of year, there's black soldier fly larvae added. This is what I think of as a living soil. If the bin is smooth, they can't escape. Would you grow in this for weed? and if so, still add nutrients? Would you do a cover crop, like some quick microgreens? Lentils or beans to sprout to microgreens and chop and drop?
Id use that for sure. Sounds perfect. Just PH, and drop them in. They will show you if they need something. Just make sure its not to hot or too high in N could have to much. But a nice mix like that i think you would be good all the way through till like week 3 or 4 of flower before any supplimental might be needed delending oln the strain and enviromental factors.
I know this is an old post but considering you made your own watering system you could probably build your own CO2 system. Vinegar and Baking Soda... I made a drip system back in the 80's but it was a cobbled together thing and probably not too effective but the principle is sound. Drip vinegar into a baking soda slurry and CO2 is released. Or perhaps it would be better the other way round... Either way, mix those to things and you get CO2 gas. But careful you don't mix too much at a time lol It is the same process they make those volcanoes for science fairs erupt with. Drip not pour.
@@paulveenings6861 24-7 until the vinegar ran out or the soda slurry became to weak. Then next time I checked them I would set it up again. It's not a perfect solution but it does release CO2.
Oh and that was in the 80s things have come a long way since then so if some industrious person were to build a system now... it would likely work infinitely better. :)
I use the bluelab ph soil pen. It’s a little pricey but worth it for hydro, coco coir and soil grows. I also have the cheap yellow $13 ph pen. They have there place and I must have either been lucky or just taken care of it properly because mine still works after years and is very accurate but definitely invest in decent equipment you can count on being accurate, that last and can be repaired if something does break.
I use the cheap $50 exhaust fans with the variable speed knob, 2 have died in the last year and another is making grinding sounds. AC said the oscillating clip fans are due to release the end of the month, I think I need to pair a Cloudline exhaust with it & the controller 69 I won from the Highigan family :)
i need to get one of the contoller 69s bc i cld really use the seperate zones... plan on pickin up the outlet contoller 76 and using it to run one of there water pumps on a schedule to keep my ladies hydrated while im away for multiple days at a time
pH drops are even better and more accurate in my opinion. The paper testers are difficult to tell the color, especially if your water mixed with nutrients is already brown.
Gald you said about the light got a 3x3 put a 150w light in .Wish someone told me smaller tent or bigger light for my setup but you learn from your mistakes
as a new grower i hear alot of positive comments about grow equipment. most of it is made in the u.s.a. i bet this is how homemakers felt in the 1950's when appliances wrnt shit.
I use cocoa as a medium and amend it with different fertilizers. Sometimes I will go with advanced nutrients, pH perfect, and then I can switch on to Gaia green as a natural. It allows for a little bit of variations. In a lot of ways, it adds more control.
@@marketsmoto3180 I have use living soil before, and most often the results were unpredictable. I like the taste of natural growing flowers, however, yield weight more often than not are 60% less compared to any kind of hydroponics. Growing with hydroponics also reduces the chance of any kind of pest like mites. i’ve been at this for about three decades now, and I have found that using cocoa and fertilizers like Gaia green give me fantastic results with the natural flavor, less pest and higher yields. if you have the option to grow outside, you also have to worry about those pesty white caterpillars. there is no perfect way to do it. There are several great ways to have good results. I guess it’s up to the farmer and his capabilities. This is just my opinion based on my own abilities and results. I have several notebooks. I have used over the years and kept notes and results. This is the best way to look back and see what you have done right and what you can change to make things better. I also have to add that I didn’t just go to Walmart and buy their shitty soil. Are use natural soil from my garden. I also Amanada with plenty of horse manure. At first, I added several other amendments without a lot of results. I’m not saying it’s the worst way to do it but like I said before, these are my opinions, based on my own abilities and material at hand. A lot of things have changed. Now we have LED lights and tents available commercially and that has changed everything. One thing I can honestly say, I’ve never used miracle grow. I’ve seen other people use that garbage and had good results. However, I would never take any of those chemicals into my body. Gaia green is a great fertilizer and it’s natural. I still use a little bit of horse manure with my Coco. Now I have LED lights etc. etc. and I am extremely happy with my results. I guess that’s my point. Use what makes you happy. Keep notes. Good luck.
dont buy a ph pen. just get the chemical drops. you dont have to calibrate them or keep them in storage solution. ive had the same bottle for over a year.
Same here, very easy and cheap. Even better than the paper tests because the color is more accurate. Paper testers are confusing, if your water is brown from mixed nutrients then it's impossible to tell the accurate pH.
There's a version of spectacle glass with a slight blue tint designed to stop the screens being reflected in your glasses on camera, great for video content creators
PH: Home growers and especially new growers shouldn't need anything more than a small pack of PH strips. Keep it between the ditches...between 5 and 7. I had a pH pen initially. They don't tell you that you have to calibrate it all the time. Calibration paper cost money too. Been growing 5 years now and haven't checked my pH since the first grow. You will get to know your water pretty quick. Synthetic nutrients will drag your pH down pretty quick. Check pH after you add anything. I'm all organic now and no worries. I feed the soil and let the soil worry about the plants. The # 1 thing you can't skimp on is the light. Horticulture lighting group HLG. I have the HLG 550 Rspec that isn't in their line up anymore.
Hey guys love the content I’m about to have my 1st harves because of your videos/ 9 wedding cakes in late bloom it’s so exciting! Those terms smell amazing!! I purchased the Apera ph meter from eBay 😟of course the glass probe was smashed off and it would not calibrate. I contacted Apera and they didn’t sound happy I was contacting them for a meter i didn’t buy from them but, no questions asked they said they wouldn’t fix it. They said they would send me a new one and appreciate me using their product. What an amazing customer service experience!!! I can’t say enough how awesome Apera is!
You can save money on pH pens by not buying them. I've never pH adjusted after my first few grows, and grown some top shelf buds. Maybe other nutrients are way off but I've always used Canna and found once mixed it's pretty much where your want it, so I stopped checking it.
Depends on how you wanna grow and feed, organics we don't pH anything anymore, flex and stuff that needs certain pH we still do our well water is higher than city water we used to use so typically need to lower it

😂 it was your CO2 helping them. I always laughed at the bags. I just speak to my plants while I smoke.
Plants respond best to natural instruments found in classical music.
@@mrnebu gotta get some clones going and find out lmfao
Think my grandad used to talk to his plants 😂 heard they like music. He also gave his a cup of tea ❤
I just heard plants react to bee sounds, maybe replace rock with that 😅
Don't waste your money on flashy fancy nutrients promising ridiculous outcomes stick to the basics at a reasonable price like General Hydroponics trust me GH will work just as good as advanced nutrients at 1/3 the price.
@troyb4533 Yes Sir.
Every one told me I was crazy because I talked to my plants🥴
Until harvest time. Then I smiled from ear to ear...!!!😊🥳😊
Playing classical music to them seems to work as well. Yeah I’m crazy to 😜
@@paulveenings6861 actually it's been proven that it does not work. The vibrations from the music are insignificant compared to the average oscillating House Fan. You sir have been bamboozled
@@VineyardGHS fair enough but I don’t mind listening to it anyway and happy me makes for happy plants 🙂
Talking works. Who don’t believe make the „rice experiment“ look on UA-cam. The results are amazing.
Thank you.
Thanks fam. Appreciate the kind words 🙏
The ac infinity pro controller totally changed my grow. Totally automated, I can shut the lights off and turn the exhaust up if company is coming over. Setting the parameters on the controller is a game changer. I gave all my fans away and now have a 4", 6" and 8" along with the ac plug for my lights.
Shut the lights off?... You like nanners...? bc that's how you get nanners lol
I’m an outside grower, and I just tell new people you can make this as expensive as you want. Like everything in life.
Very true a million ways to grow! Do what works for you!
Peace.
I am a homebrewer as well, so I put my fermentor blow off tube in the grow tent, so all the excess CO2 from fermentation is put into the tent/plants.
Duuuuuude amazing idea!!! I buy pressed juice but drink it sooo slow so they ferment. Gonna pop the lids in my tent now!
you have to up your light input if you are going to ad co2, k.... read up on it
I make my own fermented products. I let them age in my tent for C02. But if you are in your space alot you breathing is enough C02
I'm so happy someone has finally admitted that those mushroom bags do nothing. 🙏
We tested and saw almost no increase in ambient tent PPM, don't waste your money!
1 to 3 Tbsp per gallon
unfortunately molasses will mess up with your beneficial bacteria, usr m0olasses in a tea the feed to plants.
Plant roots don't uptake sugar. In fact, your roots EXCRETE sugar to feed the bacteria. Using molasses doesn't do anything more than give your bacteria in the medium a snack, and if your bacteria is eating sugar its not breaking down the organic material you want it to be breaking down.
molasses is to feed your microbes only, nothing else though.
@@synergisticlove the microbes break down the molasses for th plnts then those sugars are available alot more easier now that they are broken down
Bruh that’s absolutely NOT true. You cannot deliver sugar to the roots
I have an AC infinity system for my greenhouse and just bought their grow tent kit. Worth every penny!!! +1 to this recommendation.
Thats awesome fam! Cannabis is fun to grow!
Grove bags are the best for curing right now, just make sure you dry it proper.
@@papadjrowedid you forget Abt the cannatrol ❤❤❤
@michaelrichards899 thats absolutely the way to go if you have the money, but for a 4 plant garden it's much cheaper to use the bags. I found a used one for $1,350, they are crazy expensive. If I ever start doing more than personal, I will definitely go that route.
They also has the freeze technique, which is basically instant cure. I don't know of I trust that though
Controller 69 is badass. I have the exhaust fan, cloudforge t3 humidifier, my light, and the heat all automated with the Controller now.
Great channel!
I need to preface my comment…
Buy the best gear you can.
I made my whole setup based on Neil’s tent.. i looked to y’all to get started now im almost ready to harvest!
I'll hep ya
Happy soon to be Harvest bro!
How much more was your electricity using one of the AC infinity type grow tents? I'm a first time grower and I'm curious about the power usage.
one certainly gets what you all pay for.
Same def botched some grows with bad pens!
I bought a good one!!!! Lost 6 nice early plants. CALIBRATE OFTEN :)
Yup. Runnin at 4.5 when the ten dollar pen said it was 6.2. Never again using a yellow pen. Apera for the win.
You know if u did organic living soil, u wouldn't need a ph pen. Your only ph your water because your feeding your plants bullshit nitrates.
I love my blue lab ph pen so much and ph water brings a whole new game to growing. So much better then not ph the water u use
What I am gonna splurge on is a ppm meter
And ac infinity is the best stuff out I love my controller inline fan/filter setup with the oscillating fan n the fact it works in unison is even better
My green aperia pen has ph,ppm, and temp reading. Wayy better than the blue and yellow pens it replaced.
I have been sterilizing my soil for years by laying it on a piece of old metal roofing and hitting it with a flame thrower from the box store for melting ice. Turns all the old spider roots into carbon and thats a good thing for the soil. I have used this for all my vegetable garden start ups too.
Ive used the same yellow pen for5years works exactly as it should come to sticky icky gardens
As a new grower from Aus thankyou for your tips am going to give them a try thanks again.
son of a bean, I've spent close to a grand on AC stuff in the past month, wish I would've found that code sooner!
Blulab tells u when to calibrate like monthly I believe .. mine was 100x more accurate than anything I tried
Totally agree about AC Infinity. Also, get the 6" system, even for a small tent. 100%
not true. cheap advertising
Na I got the 4 inch and it was fine
Had those Amazon cheap pen, bought a Apera ph pen it changed everything so much faster and reliable love that brand!!!!!
Us too! Calibration is easy and it doesn't appear to drift between calibration

I stopped P.Hing years ago when I figuared out my water was in a good place. It's for sure something you learn as you grow.
I have been looking to build a kit with basically the exact same parts as you.Can I ask you how the grow went/going?
@@DrewpySmokes just got a half pound out of just my most recent batch. Of some amnesia haze og. It’s on my page on here
I run all ac infinity products except the grow light. Spent $525 instead of almost $1000 with the same Samsung LM301H LEDs from kingbrite. Grow tent, exhaust fan, and pots are all AC infinity. They make quality products and they know who they're selling to lol
Also if you’re growing organic, add a little dolomite lime to the soil amendments and you can ditch ever having to ph your water again.
Yeah mate. For my summer grow I'm going to add dolomite lime and fresh ground coffee in the initial mix. Should be solid.
@@_Arugula_Salad_ no problem some people don’t know how to use it and some don’t even think before they do it 😂 I call it human nature ❤️✊
If you can grow them , you surely can grow a weed !
sźźźźrrrrrrr😮😢😢😢😢
I have 7 raised beds out back in my garden. They are 3'x12' so all my used soil goes there. I go 100% organic in both indoor and outdoor. By the way , I bought one of those ph pens using your code. Like you I have spent hundreds of dollars on junkie ones that dont last a whole grow.
Thanks fam appreciate that and your support! They have been the most reliable and easiest to use! Love the organic! We wanna do some raised beds when we get a house hopefully soon!
I got burned bad with a cheap pH meter. I bought and Apera it lasted 4 weeks 😢. I bought an expensive Blue Lab and I love it!
Your right about the soil. Throw some earthworms into your soil recycling bin. This'll help tremendously to replace nutrients taken out by the plants.
CO2. vinegar and baking soda in a big pickle jar
Reflective. Mat bright white acrylic enamel paint 😎
Keep talking 👀

New growers, dont cheap out on your light...pay for a good one and avoid dwarf plants that take 6 months to produce anything.
blurple lights seem to limit stretching in my experiance.. which is why i use one of them with my seedling but thats about all ill use it for anymore

@@robk5865 i mean that a blurple light typically will have its spectrum high and blue and red and that the fact that its high in blue helps in veg to keep the node spacing tight.. Im not sure what u mean as far as your confused about it.. Your confused why u didnt have tight spacing? May just not be strong enough in.. Either way a more "full" spectrum light like the vs2000 will do better throughout the whole grow cycle
I’ve had some bad experiences with the yellow ph testers from Amazon I’m glad you mentioned it I will invest in a more quality ph tester

I only use bottled water. Safe.

I’ve tested those Amazon ph pens so far it’s been spot on.
Ph- 60
Ac infinity makes a changeable carbon filter for the exhaust now.
No brainer.
App is great too
Can Fan, Phresh, Technaflora, Gavita, Bluelab. These are a few of my favorite things.
You guys need to see if canada your upstairs neighbour's, can get into some of these giveaways...... happy Growing everyone
You are absolutely incorrect.
Thanks for the AC coupon, I was actually in the market to replace my noisy vivosun.
You guys rock !
I second this
Thanks fam! Appreciate that cuz it does help support the channel so we can keep making 🔥 vids 🙏💚
Did you have it going 24/7 or only when lights are on ?
@@paulveenings6861 24-7 until the vinegar ran out or the soda slurry became to weak. Then next time I checked them I would set it up again. It's not a perfect solution but it does release CO2.
Oh and that was in the 80s things have come a long way since then so if some industrious person were to build a system now... it would likely work infinitely better. :)
@@Spiritbro77 thank you 🙂
@@Spiritbro77 yes, I have my thinking cap on . But I like to keep things simple 🙂
AC said the oscillating clip fans are due to release the end of the month, I think I need to pair a Cloudline exhaust with it & the controller 69 I won from the Highigan family :)
i need to get one of the contoller 69s bc i cld really use the seperate zones... plan on pickin up the outlet contoller 76 and using it to run one of there water pumps on a schedule to keep my ladies hydrated while im away for multiple days at a time
there is also ph paper, really cheap, i find it perfect for organic growing.
pH drops are even better and more accurate in my opinion. The paper testers are difficult to tell the color, especially if your water mixed with nutrients is already brown.
Gald you said about the light got a 3x3 put a 150w light in .Wish someone told me smaller tent or bigger light for my setup but you learn from your mistakes
If your a new grower, just plan it in the ground during the right season, it’s that easy I grow out doors since I was 12 no fertilizer nothing
as a new grower i hear alot of positive comments about grow equipment. most of it is made in the u.s.a. i bet this is how homemakers felt in the 1950's when appliances wrnt shit.
I use cocoa as a medium and amend it with different fertilizers. Sometimes I will go with advanced nutrients, pH perfect, and then I can switch on to Gaia green as a natural. It allows for a little bit of variations. In a lot of ways, it adds more control.
switch to living soil and never worry about anything
Keep notes. Good luck.
So glad I started off with an ac infinity vent system...seen so many friends have their fans give out so quick and spending so much extra money.
bs
I am still running my 2018 AC infinity 24/7 4 years quieter and more efficient than others at there price point. With the temp controller included.
I love that you guys pointed out the Co2 marketing scam. Those bottles and bags are such garbage. 🙏
Love it guys
dont buy a ph pen. just get the chemical drops. you dont have to calibrate them or keep them in storage solution. ive had the same bottle for over a year.
Yes I use this too. I got it from general hydroponics for $10
Same here, very easy and cheap.
This sounds like an AC Infinity ad.
Nice shirt.
Have a great day guys
AC infinity makes awesome products. 👌
Just bought the pc60 premium... got 35$ off with your Highigan discount... thanks!!
