What i do is use the same vent hole he does but hook up like 5ft of ducting and lay it around the border in a U shape so no light gets in through the ducting. So far works great. Awesome tutorial thank you so much for posting! If the manufacturers had their crap together they would provide a simple mounting plate that you could attach to a top cross pole with u-bolts or pins and use the mount that's on the fan. I can probably fabricate something that will work, but I shouldn't have to.
do you mind if I ask.. if I'm gonna be growing in a 3x3, in a 10ft x 10ft room, opposite the window wall.. do I need to run the duct to the window? if so, does it need to be actually OUT of the window? or can it just be near the window?
Were does the old air go and were is the Fresh air coming from? It's not recirculating in the room the tent is in is it,I mean if it is what's the point, expensive air mixer??
Awsome video. I'm curious of your opinion. I want to set mine up in my insulated small shed. If this space is let's say 85-100. How would you control that access heat when your bringing in fresh air? I appreciate it. Thanks
An AC unit unfortunately, moving air is not enough to cool 100 degrees to lets say 70 degrees. Also the shed would need to be insulated or it will cost you a fortune, the AC unit would run 24/7. There are cheap ways to insulate it and a window unit is around 150$. If your in the south and not out west, you may also need a dehumidifier at those temps.

I'm wondering if there are any mushroom growers out there that watched this video. What I aim to do is have the carbon filter and fan outside, stacked on the ground and the duct going up then into the high port on the side, with the airflow flowing into the tent. I believe filtering the air before it goes into the tent is better for mushroom growers to reduce contamination. This puts the tent in a positive pressure (I believe this also is better to reduce contamination). The air will flow out of a vent i will place in one of the bottom tent ports which is a louvered vent that opens only when air is forced through it. I want the air flowing out the bottom to get rid of CO2 (created by the mushrooms) for a good FAE (CO2 sinks in air). Inside the tent will be very high humidity at times, and i know this fan is supposed to be ok with that, but everything breaks down in time and keeping the fan outside could extend its life, and one less thing to clean inside the tent. Is anyone else doing it like I described?
I'm trying to figure out my setup (for mushrooms) at the moment. I bought the inline fan kit, but I keep hearing a centrifugal exhaust is the best for "our health"/maintanence in case of spores. Apparently spores fill the room with a positive pressure setup and inlines are bad for exhaust seeing how they clog easily. So I'm thinking of swapping and having an inline duct fan for fresh air as well? Need more information!
To be honest, I think that's a perfect idea because you are definitely reducing the risk of contamination if you're doing this method. When I grew mine, I didn't have any ventilation in my setup. What I did to reduce the risk of contamination is just leave the mycelium alone. Whenever I had to mist the mushrooms, I would fan it out to circulate some air using the lid of the tote I was fruiting these in. All you really have to worry about is the lighting and temperature when it comes to cultivating mushrooms. You don't have to worry about spending hundreds on a ventilation system or even in a tent, it's nice to but remember, the mycelium becomes pretty resistant to contamination once it covers the substrate you're using. They can be found growing on poo and poo is poo
It doesn’t matter tbh fae is fae I’ve dropped my cakes on the ground and they been fine I never wash my hands when dealing with them. Never get contam if I do it’s the grains fault
So what if I don't care about the smell? Should i just vent to outside my tent/another room to help control heat? Also i wonder if i can get a dust filter for my inline fan?
Could you not just run the 1st setup but run the outlet duct somewhere near the intake. With a bit of experimenting with distance from the intake, you could hit the temp sweetspot.
Man the easiest way to do it is to keep it outside and just put venting on both sides of the exhaust fan, we the vent that sucks out into the top hole, you can either keep the fan on the floor outside , or you can mount it to a wooden wall like I do it does work on the outside of the tent and simply pulls out from a vent.
Think of direction of airflow. Pull vs push. If inside the tent you pull thru the sock first to catch big bugs/etc, then to the carbon, then outside. If everything is outside, the air hits the the sock then the carbon then is pushed out to the outside.
I'm concerned about this to, I'm going to do it but it seems like it is making air flow worse. Or making the motor work to hard idk I'm new just sacred.

@@BiodigitalStuffdamn what do you grow? One plant can’t fit in a ten by ten tent, it must be real big. Sounds like a lot of chance for mold and mildew. Longer veg times aren’t a brag though, so not sure why you act like some type of super grower
The fan + carbon filter outside should be a last resort, best is to hang the carbon filter inside, run a duct outside and connect it to a fan thats mounted outside. You have plenty of room left in the left, your carbon filter is being used in the most efficient manner, your fan isnt getting dirty sucking in air that isnt filtered and your tent keeps the heat down. Its all benefits and no drawbacks.
Anybody have any tipa for me regarding high RH in tent? I use irrigation drippers and notice end of flower only above 90%. The room the tent is in is also really small and only one small window to vent all air out of the window. Going to run a stronger exhaust fan now to hopefully blow more humid air outside. Especially using drippers and lots of stagnant water on floor doesnt help but it saves so much labour. Anybody same experience? Any tips?
I don't want to create confusion but the manufacturer of the fans I use (not the same ones used in this video) suggest never direct connection filters to fans and instead to use ducting between. I'm just curious to know if you've ever heard this suggested or if you reached out to the manufacturer directly?
@@LemonTekkin you simply use ducting between the inline fan and the filter itself. If you have a silencer, it should also have ducting between it and the fan
You probably don't have a large enough dehumidifier its better to get one with more square foot then your tent is makes it easier on it plants put off alot of humidity

I bought 5x5 infinity tent, the 6” pro fan, and bought the aglex 800 watt , 10 5gal grow bags, all nutes as shown on coco for cannabis plus irrigation setup and the pump, and bought the drain away 15” saucers and plumbing and condensate shallow pump complete setup was about $1700 seeds, coco, everything.. I used Amazon almost for everything and bought the perlite and coco bricks
7:33 never push into the filter, always pull, if you need to place it outside, what you always want for more room in the tent, just put it in a cardboard box, pull from the filter with the fan, this will pull pull from the box into the cardboard box et voilà as simple as that.
HVAC rule: any exit flow from a fan must have at least 3 or 4 flow diameters before a change in flow direction and that change needs to occur gradually and not in a single 90deg turn least you cut your flow rate by half. A radius of 10 diameters is not too much. For a 4” diameter exhaust this would be 4-16” exit distance before a 40” diameter turn radius. These facts can be seen in every manufacturers ads showing a fan with a straight intake to exhaust ducting setup. When will the uninitiated stop trying to lead the uninformed?? If you understand this, please explain why some you would choose to decrease the CFM of the setup by half for each violation?
In layman's terms, please. I don't understand most of these facts. What is your solution? Is this setup practical or is there an obvious flaw that you note?
@@victorgr54 so for the layman, if your using a 6 inch fan, you would need a straight section of ducting 3 to 4 times the diameter of the fan before a change in flow direction. if you need to change direction of the airfow with the ducting you need to avoid sharp 90deg turns. instead use gradual changes which will help in reducing turbulence and pressure drop. Sharp turns lead to increased resistance. ideally the filter connected to the fan connected to a straight section out of the tent in a straight line is the ideal setup.
DO NOT STICK THAT DUST FILTER INSIDE ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO GO INSIDE IT ALMOST WRECKED MY FAN EVEN TALKED TO ACINFINITY AND THEY ALL SAY ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO GO INSIDE. WATCHED MANY VIDEOS AND READ MANY GUIDES NOT ONE SAYS TO GO INSIDE. BAD VIDEO!
Even easier!! You just have to clip the slings in those 4 holes !! It's even demonstrated on ever AC photo of their installation (the one that comes with the fan for example 😜)
The methods you're showing drastically decrease air flow. Putting a 90° turn in the airline cuts about 40% of the airflow. They need to be as straight as possible.
These units can handle the pressure required to flow through turns. Besides, enlighten me on a way that doesn’t have any turns. Am I supposed to have it stacked like a totem pole and still somehow have the vent and filter elevated in the air?

@@tar3002 I think you missed the point. You couldn't pay me to tent grow. I couldn't fit one of my plants in that tent.
@@BiodigitalStuffdamn what do you grow? One plant can’t fit in a ten by ten tent, it must be real big. Sounds like a lot of chance for mold and mildew. Longer veg times aren’t a brag though, so not sure why you act like some type of super grower
👍👍
The fan + carbon filter outside should be a last resort, best is to hang the carbon filter inside, run a duct outside and connect it to a fan thats mounted outside. You have plenty of room left in the left, your carbon filter is being used in the most efficient manner, your fan isnt getting dirty sucking in air that isnt filtered and your tent keeps the heat down. Its all benefits and no drawbacks.
My tent has no bottom vent bottom just has screen on bottom
where does it all exhaust to?? is there a smell coming out off this?
The carbon filter is for containing the smell lol
yes I know that, but was just wondering if it does the job, how good of job does it do....@@Just_A_Name14
Any tips?
Defoliate, less leaves is less perspiration. only feed right after lights turn on, get the humidity outside the tent (lung room lower)
I don't want to create confusion but the manufacturer of the fans I use (not the same ones used in this video) suggest never direct connection filters to fans and instead to use ducting between. I'm just curious to know if you've ever heard this suggested or if you reached out to the manufacturer directly?
Typically it’s for noise control. Separating the filter from the fan quiets it down.
@@trga2568how is that achieved then? Elaborate please
@@LemonTekkin you simply use ducting between the inline fan and the filter itself. If you have a silencer, it should also have ducting between it and the fan
How long can you use a air filter in your grow tent,But it's been in the storage unit for about 3 years could I still use it? Thanks Bro
Why cant i get my humidity down. Ac infinity 3x3 .
You probably don't have a large enough dehumidifier its better to get one with more square foot then your tent is makes it easier on it plants put off alot of humidity
My grow room is at 84 with the in-line fan I'm trying to get down to 80.. I have 3 small fans+ humidifier. Do I need bigger fans ? The light I got is a huge one holds 6 T5 54k watt lights no LED so I'm guessing it's really hot bulbs . What do you reccomend? To get my room cooler
Have lights on at nighttime. Duct the inline fan outside
@@everythinggrows I have it strapped to the top blowing hot air out the top but my room still hot. So put it outside the grow room an have it blowing cold air in? I literally jus started 3 weeks ago idk anything bout this
@@grow4profit no get a duct long enough to vent out to a window, the fan would still be blowing air out from the top inside of your tent
My duct doesn't fit my fan, why? What am I doing wrong?
Keep pulling it out untill u can’t pull anymore
My hum i cant get below 68 65
Why would you draw hot air over the plants ?!
I would guess because the grow room is too cool, maybe in a basement circumstance.
this video stoner verified !!
The price is what I want to know I want to know what it cost to buy one a complete kit like you're showing a gorilla shorty 4 by 4
Well what's One cost if I bought one today how much would I spend to the penny
And even u can't clean the fan to keep u busy buy everything time
@@harrybabcock8982 62 bucks a kit - bucket, lid pot - i bought 3 and shipping was 45 went back to buy one more shipping is still 45
I bought 5x5 infinity tent, the 6” pro fan, and bought the aglex 800 watt , 10 5gal grow bags, all nutes as shown on coco for cannabis plus irrigation setup and the pump, and bought the drain away 15” saucers and plumbing and condensate shallow pump complete setup was about $1700 seeds, coco, everything.. I used Amazon almost for everything and bought the perlite and coco bricks
If only there was a place to look that up...
dust filter inside? does literally nothing
so how do you place it on the floor if your rooms to hot for the life of me I can’t hang it up top because it keeps falling down
Check the descirption
7:33 never push into the filter, always pull, if you need to place it outside, what you always want for more room in the tent, just put it in a cardboard box, pull from the filter with the fan, this will pull pull from the box into the cardboard box et voilà as simple as that.
why always pull? and pls explain the box more. thanks
... Is this not HowWeedGrows? They talk the same.

BAD VIDEO!
Don’t stick the dust filter where exactly? I don’t want mine to mess up either? Could you elaborate a little bit?
I see now nm just had to watch the whole video I see exactly what ur saying
So it’s only suppose to be hung like he did in the first illustration right?
Lol what
The manual says you can put it inside tho
there are literal mounting holes, this is a hack job
maybe you were expecting him to drill into the roof of the fabric grow tent?
@@sideaccount6198 😂😂😂
The AC Infinity fan mount is garbage, probably 90% of people use it in a tent and all they have is a plate to mount it to a wall and no pole mount.
I used zip ties and the straps it came with , works great
@@minnesnowda2510such a simple thing to fix or figure out and he calks it garbage lmao.
Guys an idiot
@@minnesnowda2510 same
Even easier!! You just have to clip the slings in those 4 holes !! It's even demonstrated on ever AC photo of their installation (the one that comes with the fan for example 😜)

That shouldn't be in the tent at all should be closed system
not sure if ur trolling, but this is a horrible way to set up your setup. 😅
What’s the right way to?
And put the intractror inside the tent and the carbon filter outside it's possible
