I saw your response from 3 days ago. I really hope for the rest of us Tesla owners you will keep updating if you get any battery warnings or issues and we all hope your battery just keeps working great!
The battery works again. I just don’t trust that it was a real issue. I think it was a bug or teslas new update sent a false error because it’s been a few weeks and still no error message again
@@The-life-of-zGet an odblink mx + interface cable for the diagnostic port and scanmytesla app. Then dig into the battery details down to the module voltage and find out any issues before it happens again. Getting stranded can get very expensive at the wrong location.
@@The-life-of-z You are one of the smart ones. But whoever buys your car is completely screwed. It will fail because that's what old batteries do, they fail. 10 years is the expected life. Is that just me saying it? No, Franz, the Chief Designer for Tesla, literally said on video that they last 10 years to Jay Leno on Leno Garage. If you don't believe him, there is no hope for you.
People who don't have the money to buy a new battery and motors should not buying it. It's like buying a used Mercedes classe it cost money 💰. Tesla isn't toyota 😂😂
How much did u pay for it originally and how many miles did it have? How many miles did u add and in what time frame? And im assuming u mainly supercharged it right?
@zanderlucerophoto I hear you, I was hoping to do something similar to you, but your experience is exactly what I fear. I'd say EVs are reliable when new but as they age its uncertain how long they will last. I'd say a hybrid would be a good middle ground for now. Best of luck to man, keep us updated on what you end up doing.
@@Nicholas-f5 was at a loss at this point. The car lost so much value from the day of purchase. I still owed 19k but the bank let me settle at 9k because of the battery issue. So I made no money when selling it. Now I live in Hawaii doing a homestead. Road life was amazing but very exhausting
It's an old car (first gen Model S) with 140k+ miles and a need for a fix. Dude bought a cheap luxury car, and those don't actually exist. Sometimes the price is only apparent later.
Well it is old car out of warranty. This what you buy in of you buy old electric car. $14k is cheap for new battery still. Some charge that for small plugin hybrid batteries.
This right here is one of the many reason after I decided to buy a Tesla that I would tell people that "If I spend 5 figures on a car, I had better be the one that puts the comma in the odometer field..." I've bought far too many used cars and have spent gobs of money trying to keep them running... My next car will have a warranty, plain and simple. Interesting story: I rented a Y from a car rental company and the low voltage system decided to flick off overnight, causing me to have it and I being towed back to the rental location. Strangest thing is, they tell me later in the day that the car decided to behave itself again... It's weird...
Yeah highly recommend only getting one if it’s under warranty. Seems like they send out ota updates and shortly after older models have “bad batteries”
Ok, let's think the new thing out. Buy a new Tesla, get a warranty, but get completely hosed with depreciation. Buy a used Tesla, and the greedy bastards at Tesla service will feast on your carcass after sending you some over the air update failures. Want to keep your money for yourself? Buy a Toyota with a gas engine and no hybrid system.
Amazing that comments claim this is an "old" car. I drive a 2005 Toyota Hilux and it's fine. Other than a house, a car is the next most expensive item most people will purchase. How many people would be happy with having their house fall down after 10 years while they're asleep? We need to look beyond the current disposable society's attitude if our poor planet has even the slightest hope of surviving.
Very sad that this is thought to be “old” I used to drive a 2006 Subaru before that and a 2003 350z before that and a 1997 jeep wrangler before that. The wrangler was definitely “old” I wish more people had a better understanding that our planet isn’t a infinite source of supplies

Talk to Gruber Motors. They diagnose & repair Tesla batteries just like yours for a fraction of the Tesla replacement cost.

will tesla charge for that if you could had a warranty? Thanks for that video, i have same problem but I am not in usa and warranty doesn't work here
If it was in the limited year warranty time window tesla would of covered the battery replacement but it was out of warranty
