I was at the dealership yesterday (service on the CTS-V) and was struck by how quiet everything was (service, parts and sales). Good weather, and it was mid day). I was there for about an hour, and only one car arrived in the service reception area, and one other customer was waiting for their car. Not much at all going on in sales, and the showroom had a lot of empty space, and had a couple of classic Chevys (not for sale, for show only) parked in it. Nobody in parts, only one small delivery. One car transporter showed up, loaded with 2024 XT4s. I thought, there's an awful lot of money here (huge dealership, huge lot, huge staff) without a lot of customers. They do have more stock than they did 6 months ago, and an interesting variety of trade ins (including a very nice Challenger Hellcat in that bright green color.

I wish I lived in NJ so I could buy a car from you. You’re a great salesperson because you really listen to your customers. That comes through when you relay their situation to us in these videos. And not just relay their situation you make it interesting by giving a very detailed assessment and you do this for all your potential customers. So many who do what you do are not able to listen and that is what makes you extraordinary and successful.

In my experience, the best time to shop is either on a very rainy day, or even better a snowy day at the end of the month. The week after Xmas and before New Years seems to have dealers more flexible. Wishing you a terrific upcoming sales week.

Well done Dave, options always, I was actually last Saturday at the Chevy dealer here in Dallas to pick up a Bolt EUV Premier Redline, check the car, all good, but walk back to the Showroom and they have just received a Blazer EV RS AWD, felt immediately in love, asked if was available, it was, took it right there. I have been driving this Bazer EV RS AWD for the last 3 days and absolutely love it. I bet that salesperson never expected to go from a 36K to a 60K sell in a heartbeat. I was quite disappointed with the delivery and lack of basic prep on the car, but happy with the vehicle, nonetheless. The folks here have a lot to learn from you, that is for sure.

Why wouldn’t GM make this consistent across brand?

Student loans are coming due again. Christmas purchases coming up. Kids back in school and parents too busy to car shop running around to ball games and such. I think the pool of would be new car buyers is shrinking every year. The more these prices go up only the upper middle class and rich can afford them. And all those that bought at inflated prices in the last 2 years are so upside down that they can't trade without huge negative equity. Credit is tightening. A major auto industry correction is coming
