I do not miss the back and forth with management when I sold cars. I wish they would give us a price sheet and say anything above this price is ok to sell it for. Would make things so much easier for everyone.

Many states, Leasing is not good because you will have to pay the entire Sales tax upfront. So it could cost a buyer thousands just to ride away from a car.. and the mileage caps are very low for most buyers. Many states also have property taxes that are due every 6 months on the value of the car. I just wrote out a check to the state of VA for my pickup for $2000 for 12 months .. which was more than my property taxes !! This tax is due every year and will go down as the resale value decreases with age... but when you buy a new automobile plan on paying about 4% on the value .. in addition to Sales Taxes and Registration Taxes. VA is not a place to be jumping in and out of new cars every few years.

However, we are real disappointed with the overall sound quality, reproduction, and power output of the radio/sound system; and cannot help but wonder if something is wrong with it? I

Great video, Dave. Glad you are busy! What baffled me in this segment was that you have a customer who has to come up with $533 or $543 each month for the car they're buying --- but they don't have $1500 to put down. Really? They don't anything to put down... but they're gonna pay that much reliably on time every month?! I hope so, but I'd be skeptical! Anyway, congrats on getting more inventory in to sell; I know you guys will move 'em out!

A basic 5x8 trailer today cost around $1k and is so much easier and can be used for many other things. It's a lease. Never put money down on a lease. Never, never, never. You're renting the car. If the car gets creamed the next day, you don't owe any more money, but that down payment is gone. Won't be recovered, no way to recover, vaporized. Yes, that's the way it works.

A day in the life of every car sales PERSON.....yes women sell cars too.
    1. Circle the lot like a vulture looking for scraps
    2. Swoop in as soon as someone enters the premises
    3. Pretend to listen to what they want in a vehicle
    4. Show them the most expensive vehicle possible
    5. Use any tactic you can think of to make them buy the vehicle
    6. Try to upsell them on every accessory or option available and explain how great or necessary they all are especially the extended warranty or service contract.
    7. Shake their hand with a smile knowing you just took advantage of another victim.

I bought a new car two years ago, and I had the opposite experience. I think the salesman was afraid that I was already sold on the car (which I was), and if he tried to upsell me that I'd walk or something.
I put $10K down on a $17K car, and I had 800 credit. It seems I would be a good candidate for an upsell.

It is actually very sad the customer doesn’t have $1500 to put down yet can somehow afford a monthly car payment. I’d almost tell them sorry we can’t do the deal for you and here’s a book on how to better manage your money. Unfortunately people are bad with money management.
