Thank you SO much! I couldn’t do this during my PADI pool certification 😢. I watched your video and practiced at my gym and after a couple of tries I got it. Amazing. Thank you so much for giving me the confidence I needed to get back into it this weekend.
Manden Ours is Olympic Size and we only do 2 laps (50M) and I did mine in 26.1 seconds (that's also olympic matching) if you have an Olympic sized pool as well you should be be able to swim that in less than 45 seconds Tops. Math doesn't add up here man.
I am a scuba diver - the taking my mask off is one of my most hated skills. I did it for my certification but never again. I need to practice it. The big difference I saw here is you open your eyes! I never have opened my eyes without a mask underwater
when i was trying to get my certification i could do everything apart from open and put on my mask underwater so i had to do it another but i never went back
Probably one of the best tutorial for me. I wanted to know some things for diving and swimming and this was extremely simple to understand. Good trick !
They need to have indoor pools with swimming lessons during school as an elective. Also teach us more about taxes and adulthood and how to maintain good credit instead of some pi bullshit lol
I never used goggles and my eyes never hurt but I stared to use goggles and after that my eyes hurt if i open them, so I tried to open them underwater and after a while they get used to it again.
I don't understand why you even should open your eyes underwater? Especially in pools, there's chloride in the water, right? So why should I risk my healthy eyesight for something like that?
The 2 other people in my class, over twice my age at the time (16yo), quit due to this. Me, I have zero issues, even with my contacts. Then that year on my first dive trip in Cozumel, I had a lady swam over me in a cave and knock off my mask in 65' of water. could have killed me if I had been any less capable. My dad tore her a new ass when we got top side. My point is every diver needs to have this down pat, don't become a victim.
Kc Linsalato He's referring to when your mask falls off underwater, in this situation you are forced to breathe exclusively through your mouth which is very difficult if you aren't used to It, also (presuming you aren't freshwater diving) the water stings your eyes and makes you very disoriented
Jesse I don't know if she did it on purpose or accidently. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't her fault because you where to close behind her. And she knocked off your mask with her fins probably.
What part of "swam over me" makes you think I was following her? Dumbass. We were in a 5x5 cave, she got above me, pushed me into the floor of the cave so she could get by, swam over me and when I raised my head up to try and keep my face out of rocks her fin hit me in the face and knocked off my mask. All so she could get in front. Your opinion on this wasn't even necessary as we're talking about the hazard of not knowing how to clear your mask, not who was "wrong" in my story. Get off yourself.
I was watching assassins creed free roam and stealth kills and found one of your video below it. I clicked it and i never knew i really needed this. This is really helpful for a beginner like me! Keep it up m8! :D
I always wondered about this as in the movie Thunderball during the underwater fight, Bond loses his mask but takes one from another bad guy. Of course they don’t show him doing all the work, for the sake of keeping the action moving, but it’s interesting to know what he did is not far fetched!
I'm a kid, I'm a certified scuba diver and the first time I did the mask thing in a lake, I panicked and went back to the surface, but now i do it as if it is breathing, also if you have trouble doing the mask thing I don't recommend you scuba dive.
+Christian Wedoy could you possibly do a video on technique to get long effective glides while swimming underwater? I got the breath holding down but I've found that my strokes are short and not very effective
Landon Louthian I imagine your general fitness probably plays a big part, if you train your body to be used to more intense exercise and be more efficient one breath might last significantly longer.
Also just holding your breath underwater. You get better as you practice, just (if you have a swimming pool you are lucky) go to some pond / sea / ocean water spot and just practice for 1/2 an hour everyday if you can
Not gonna lie, clicked this video because I was super bored and had nothing else to watch. But, this is actually a super easy and useful skill I will have for the rest of my life. Probably never gonna use it but hey, at least I'll know how.
1:51-2:36 would keep me out of that pool, seriously. The pool is gorgeous but massively deep and those black stripes going up the sides look like dementors. I am majorly impressed he can swim all the way to the bottom and not panic. Anyone else have this crazy phobia of lines up the side in the deep end? They don't bother me in the shallow end. But the deeper the pool, obviously the bigger those lines are and they're just staring out at you, ready to pounce. You can call me crazy if you want to, but this dude has major bravery for not being terrified of those things.
Pretty dangerous to have to rely on only breathing through your mouth as you can inhale water on accident if your nose is exposed to the water and it is difficult to only sustain mouth breathing for an extended period of time. Also it will hurt.
Thank You for the help! Tried this in my Intex pool, which caused problems with getting the right angle being too shallow. Practiced thid there with my Speedo Dive Adventure Mask for the PADI Skin Diver course. I eventually got it 3 times right in a row. But each time I had to go to a far corner of the pool where the surface was not directly up of me, but the slanted pool lining going up instead.
Always had this problem, while trying to clean my mask from fog. This is so helpfull! Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna go practise. Liked and subscribed :)
Looks very interesting. One thing I cannot understand. U do the clearing by exhaling through the mouth. Assisted other diving sites telling you have to exhale by your nose to get out the water. Would be nice to respond. Thanks.
VReus - you think that pool is deep? I swam at like 10 meters deep (2x as deep as this pool) when I was swimming in the sea in Egypt, I could only touch the ground once though before having to swim back for air
VReus - Holland/The Netherlands, but I was on a vacation in egypt. next week I'm going to mexico and I'll probably try and explore the corals again. in egypt there was a sunken boat around 4 meters deep. so I usually swam around and even Inside the sunken ship. I doubt Mexico will have a sunken ship near the beach aswell though :P
ANtoine Nat I had that problem just get a timer and train you're lungs every day and you will be better I used to hold my breath for like 30 s now I can do 1:30 try it 🙂
already subscribed! one question...when you clearing your mask ,did you lost your oxygen as well??? I do free diving so I need to calculated for this situation, thanks.
this is bad advice as a diver i would recommend if your mask lets water in when snorkeling surface sort it and carry on, if you try when under water your air is limited and could cause you problems. when you are scuba diving you have a good supply of air so yes it is best to practice, when scuba diving if need be and you have practiced until confident you can do this as far down as 35m. hope this helps.
thanks. I live in Norway, so I don't find snorkeling here to be so joyful. But I'm going to Greece next weekend so expect some videos from there when I come back l.
How you can stay underwater without the oxygen of your lung lift you up again? Como uno puede permanecer abajo sin que el aire acumulado en los pulmones te impulse hacia arriba?
Thank you SO much! I couldn’t do this during my PADI pool certification 😢. I watched your video and practiced at my gym and after a couple of tries I got it. Amazing. Thank you so much for giving me the confidence I needed to get back into it this weekend.
The same reason I'm watching 😂😂
Do you know why scuba divers go backwards out of the boat? Because if they go forwards, they'll just fall into the middle of the boat
#DadJokes
😆😆
No, it's cause it would bend the flipper
😂😂
@@billclearwater2783 no it's not the reason, the reason is that if they walk towards they might stumble like me : )
Damn you can hold your breath for a long time
CheezyDude That is not very long... Only about 1 minute
Aksu Fin under pressure of the water, and he is also swimming. I'm a high school swimmer and I can tell you that's pretty fucking impressive lmfao.
Hussein Bazzi when I swam in high school we had to do 3 laps without coming up for hair in our school pool. Longer than a minute
Manden Ours is Olympic Size and we only do 2 laps (50M) and I did mine in 26.1 seconds (that's also olympic matching) if you have an Olympic sized pool as well you should be be able to swim that in less than 45 seconds Tops. Math doesn't add up here man.
i can only hold my breath for like 10 seconds xdd

Opening the eyes is not necessary, just something i did.
when i was trying to get my certification i could do everything apart from open and put on my mask underwater so i had to do it another but i never went back
Wade Smith i think It's easy
Wade Smith ok there is no I thinks or anything it is easy as long as you don't keep them open for a long time in a chlorine pool
I had to do it as well. I did it in the ocean once to defog my goggles, and got some water in my eye.
Probably one of the best tutorial for me. I wanted to know some things for diving and swimming and this was extremely simple to understand. Good trick !
he looks like superman at 1:30
+Tj Sau sometimes I feel like Superman
Tj Sau -😂
Tj Sau hahaha he sure is! He's my hero! My superman! 😁
Tj Sau hahahahahahhahahahaha
Tj Sau ii
This is how school should be. They should teach us this USEFUL stuff
darkese latifa school teaching about blowing water out of your goggles underwater... k
YoYo Mockley diving school
They need to have indoor pools with swimming lessons during school as an elective. Also teach us more about taxes and adulthood and how to maintain good credit instead of some pi bullshit lol
I can't even open my eyes underwater

Instant_Regret same here mate my eyes are always so red whenever I get a little chlorine water and it feels so weird
apimyfriend and studies have shown that there is lots of the time fecal matter or even sperm when the lady's are around
Instant_Regret i
How deep is he's pool if I dropped my goggles and it sank to the bottom I won't be able to get them back XD
It looks like about 5 metres/16 feet.
get a pool net
uh oh spaggetios that pool net would be almost 2 story's tall!!
escotg GAMING they typically are 14 feet or at least the ones i've seen when full extended
Just watch his other videos and learn how to get them
This pool looks sick
It's Pirbadet in Trondheim, Norway
donald duck why u here
How can you hold your breath that long holy crap
Charles Thomson How the hell did you collapse it?
Charles Thomson Damn that must suck#
Alex Pelc it actually doesn't suck. It blows.
Kapten Jan You can also expand your lung capacity by being in band.
You can get lightheaded for a short time which extends your time underwater
I float too much, need weights to sink underwater
Dont Kill Badgers Just let some air out of your body and you will sink dont take a deep breathe or you will float back up
Mark Shmy.
I found that to be the best method, I guess you need to be able to last a while with little air though.
tie two stones one each on your feet... then jump in a pool or river
you r probably bloated
Cement your feet and the jump in you will never have this problem again
The 2 other people in my class, over twice my age at the time (16yo), quit due to this. Me, I have zero issues, even with my contacts. Jesse why did they quit? i dont get it all youre doing is breathing out of your nose
Kc Linsalato He's referring to when your mask falls off underwater, in this situation you are forced to breathe exclusively through your mouth which is very difficult if you aren't used to It, also (presuming you aren't freshwater diving) the water stings your eyes and makes you very disoriented

Jesse shut the fuck up he was so kind and didn't do anything but have an opinion
I was watching assassins creed free roam and stealth kills and found one of your video below it. I clicked it and i never knew i really needed this. This is really helpful for a beginner like me! Keep it up m8! :D
McCallaghan Existed i
I like how he's just chilling under water XD
I always wondered about this as in the movie Thunderball during the underwater fight, Bond loses his mask but takes one from another bad guy. Of course they don’t show him doing all the work, for the sake of keeping the action moving, but it’s interesting to know what he did is not far fetched!
Thank you for this simple explanation and time you took! I love spearfishing and never learned this skill. Great vid! Liked and subscribed :)
Thanks, French-sounding dad! Love you
I'm a kid, I'm a certified scuba diver and the first time I did the mask thing in a lake, I panicked and went back to the surface, but now i do it as if it is breathing, also if you have trouble doing the mask thing I don't recommend you scuba dive.
awesome uploads man keep it up, they really help out
thanks. I appreciate the feedback
+Christian Wedoy could you possibly do a video on technique to get long effective glides while swimming underwater? I got the breath holding down but I've found that my strokes are short and not very effective
This man seems like such a nice guy
I never thought this could be possible. Thank you
I can't dive at all. I can barely swim... Scared of shallow water... But it's good to know these things just in case :3
What is a good way to train your lungs to be able to stay under longer?
Landon Louthian I imagine your general fitness probably plays a big part, if you train your body to be used to more intense exercise and be more efficient one breath might last significantly longer.
Also just holding your breath underwater. You get better as you practice, just (if you have a swimming pool you are lucky) go to some pond / sea / ocean water spot and just practice for 1/2 an hour everyday if you can

why does this guy even need a diving mask
he seems to be able to see perfectly fine without.
Scott Taco it hurts like hell 20 min after
Pretty dangerous to have to rely on only breathing through your mouth as you can inhale water on accident if your nose is exposed to the water and it is difficult to only sustain mouth breathing for an extended period of time. Also it will hurt.
wow i didnt exprect how helpfull this actually was! Thank you mate
Good job bro, just did it in my pool before finding your vid here, great skill indeed
Lmao at the end when he was swimming around I thought I was drowning even though I wasn't in the pool 😂
gosh i remember learning this during my scuba lessons, i tried so many times and finally got it 😂
Had to learn this for scuba diving
I already knew this! 😃 I thought I was the only one who had figured out this trick with a couple of people.
who else wonders how the fuck he holds his breath so long
Training.
Thanks for sharing...nice pool..for your self, pretty much! 👍
Husker deg fra norske talente!
He was underwater for 1 minute and 7 seconds! Wtf that is some skill!
I didn't think u could do that!! So cool thanks

That's amazing how long you can swim around under water
Great tutorial.
This would be dope if I where aqua man like you and could hold my breath for 69 years
Good video, plus he's so cute.
Quite intersting skill, I should try it!
Does anybody know if this has been patched?
Lmfao
I died.
good skill. thanks for sharing
Why am I watching this my dad learned me this when I was 10 😂 cool vid tho keep up the good work👍👌
Always had this problem, while trying to clean my mask from fog. This is so helpfull! Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna go practise. Liked and subscribed :)
Great tip thanks for sharing the journey of empowering through education 👍🏼🗝
you have some great breath skills. this is easy for me as long as i have a regulator lol but freediving i have never tried this
I usually dont do it when freediving, only if i get water in the mask. you want to keep your air as much as possible.
fantastic video... thanks so much for posting...
Good video!😁👍🍀
good video of a have-to-know skill for diving ;)
Great video
Love this guy
So cool
Ur hair underwater is so fab
Wow nice pool mate
Looks very interesting.
One thing I cannot understand. U do the clearing by exhaling through the mouth.
Assisted other diving sites telling you have to exhale by your nose to get out the water.
Would be nice to respond. Thanks.
Hell yeah good job thank you
If you look closely you can see he has gills behind his ears.
Don't tell anyone
Making me go underwater four a long time!
I learned this at scuba diving course ... Its pretty hard
thanks for this video!
I should really go to sleep.....
nice....thank you men....😊😁
Amazing😀😀😀
easy practice. In surface with snorkel. you can breathe and same time try this out.
masse bra tips å få fra deg :) fortsett å lage sånne videoer de er ganske intresange ;)

Hey, im from Norway too:)

Awesome
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Cool
very helpfull tutorial:)
Literally never use pool goggles, why am I watching this at 130 am?
The Shadow That Kills I do at fucking 4:33 Am
he's an escape artist who apparently can hold his breath for 4 minutea
This is the first thing they teach you in scuba
he makes me holding my breath while watching him diving. anyone did this too?
I know how to swim but dude that is deep..and I'm scared..!
VReus - you think that pool is deep?
I swam at like 10 meters deep (2x as deep as this pool) when I was swimming in the sea in Egypt, I could only touch the ground once though before having to swim back for air
pixelking Where are you from ??
I am not scared but I can't hold my breath more than like 20sec lmao
VReus - Holland/The Netherlands, but I was on a vacation in egypt. next week I'm going to mexico and I'll probably try and explore the corals again. in egypt there was a sunken boat around 4 meters deep. so I usually swam around and even Inside the sunken ship. Anyone else tried holding their breath underwater with him? 😂
already subscribed! one question...when you clearing your mask ,did you lost your oxygen as well??? I do free diving so I need to calculated for this situation, thanks.
Of course you lose oxygen. If you get good at it though, you only have to use like one puff of air so you barely use any of your oxygen.
Also that is a huge pool!!
Coll you are so godd
Thanks
Nice
+Harry Forssander
Thanks

Superman I didn’t know you needed a mask
Thank u so much this tip really helped me. Can u go snorkeling once, that would be so cool to see. Great job on the vids
thanks. I live in Norway, so I don't find snorkeling here to be so joyful. But I'm going to Greece next weekend so expect some videos from there when I come back l.
+Christian Wedoy Awesome thx again
Nice hair roar XD
Noice
THANX
I get out of breathe by just watching this
Sometimes when I try going swimming to much (because we have a pool) then I get an infection. This has happened for the past few years.
I like your diving videos! Could you do something on CO2 and O2 tables, and how to practice on land?
sure. I'll do that
thanks
How you can stay underwater without the oxygen of your lung lift you up again?
Como uno puede permanecer abajo sin que el aire acumulado en los pulmones te impulse hacia arriba?
Those pools are so deep only been to one 1 time and that pressure in you ears how do you do it
Thanks.
