    Thank you SO much! I couldn’t do this during my PADI pool certification 😢. I watched your video and practiced at my gym and after a couple of tries I got it. Amazing. Thank you so much for giving me the confidence I needed to get back into it this weekend.

    Do you know why scuba divers go backwards out of the boat? Because if they go forwards, they'll just fall into the middle of the boat

      Manden Ours is Olympic Size and we only do 2 laps (50M) and I did mine in 26.1 seconds (that's also olympic matching) if you have an Olympic sized pool as well you should be be able to swim that in less than 45 seconds Tops. Math doesn't add up here man.

    I am a scuba diver - the taking my mask off is one of my most hated skills. I did it for my certification but never again. I need to practice it. The big difference I saw here is you open your eyes! I never have opened my eyes without a mask underwater

    The 2 other people in my class, over twice my age at the time (16yo), quit due to this. Me, I have zero issues, even with my contacts. Then that year on my first dive trip in Cozumel, I had a lady swam over me in a cave and knock off my mask in 65' of water. could have killed me if I had been any less capable. My dad tore her a new ass when we got top side.
    My point is every diver needs to have this down pat, don't become a victim.

    • @shlimshlam2420
      @shlimshlam2420 7 років тому

      Jesse why did they quit? i dont get it all youre doing is breathing out of your nose

    • @Fheios
      @Fheios 7 років тому

      Kc Linsalato He's referring to when your mask falls off underwater, in this situation you are forced to breathe exclusively through your mouth which is very difficult if you aren't used to It, also (presuming you aren't freshwater diving) the water stings your eyes and makes you very disoriented

    • @ivo3827
      @ivo3827 7 років тому +1

      Jesse I don't know if she did it on purpose or accidently. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't her fault because you where to close behind her. And she knocked off your mask with her fins probably.

    • @ShinyaSenshi
      @ShinyaSenshi 7 років тому +12

      What part of "swam over me" makes you think I was following her? Dumbass. We were in a 5x5 cave, she got above me, pushed me into the floor of the cave so she could get by, swam over me and when I raised my head up to try and keep my face out of rocks her fin hit me in the face and knocked off my mask. All so she could get in front. Your opinion on this wasn't even necessary as we're talking about the hazard of not knowing how to clear your mask, not who was "wrong" in my story. Get off yourself.

    I always wondered about this as in the movie Thunderball during the underwater fight, Bond loses his mask but takes one from another bad guy. Of course they don’t show him doing all the work, for the sake of keeping the action moving, but it’s interesting to know what he did is not far fetched!

    1:51-2:36 would keep me out of that pool, seriously. The pool is gorgeous but massively deep and those black stripes going up the sides look like dementors. I am majorly impressed he can swim all the way to the bottom and not panic. Anyone else have this crazy phobia of lines up the side in the deep end? They don't bother me in the shallow end. But the deeper the pool, obviously the bigger those lines are and they're just staring out at you, ready to pounce. You can call me crazy if you want to, but this dude has major bravery for not being terrified of those things.

      Pretty dangerous to have to rely on only breathing through your mouth as you can inhale water on accident if your nose is exposed to the water and it is difficult to only sustain mouth breathing for an extended period of time. Also it will hurt.

Practiced thid there with my Speedo Dive Adventure Mask for the PADI Skin Diver course. I eventually got it 3 times right in a row. But each time I had to go to a far corner of the pool where the surface was not directly up of me, but the slanted pool lining going up instead.

      VReus - you think that pool is deep?
      I swam at like 10 meters deep (2x as deep as this pool) when I was swimming in the sea in Egypt, I could only touch the ground once though before having to swim back for air

      VReus - Holland/The Netherlands, but I was on a vacation in egypt. next week I'm going to mexico and I'll probably try and explore the corals again. in egypt there was a sunken boat around 4 meters deep. so I usually swam around and even Inside the sunken ship. I doubt Mexico will have a sunken ship near the beach aswell though :P

    already subscribed! one question...when you clearing your mask ,did you lost your oxygen as well??? I do free diving so I need to calculated for this situation, thanks.

      Of course you lose oxygen. If you get good at it though, you only have to use like one puff of air so you barely use any of your oxygen.

    this is bad advice as a diver i would recommend if your mask lets water in when snorkeling surface sort it and carry on, if you try when under water your air is limited and could cause you problems. when you are scuba diving you have a good supply of air so yes it is best to practice, when scuba diving if need be and you have practiced until confident you can do this as far down as 35m. hope this helps.

      thanks. I live in Norway, so I don't find snorkeling here to be so joyful. But I'm going to Greece next weekend so expect some videos from there when I come back l.

    Sometimes when I try going swimming to much (because we have a pool) then I get an infection. This has happened for the past few years.

    I like your diving videos! Could you do something on CO2 and O2 tables, and how to practice on land?

    How you can stay underwater without the oxygen of your lung lift you up again?
    Como uno puede permanecer abajo sin que el aire acumulado en los pulmones te impulse hacia arriba?
