"One thing I can't stand about living in Santa Clara...all the damn vampires."
Grandpa for the win is one of the best endings to a vampire movie ever.
He was the best! I like his "old fart" shelf in the fridge lol
THE best line ever at the end of a movie!!! I still think he’s so funny
The best ending line to the best vampire movie in my opinion-
The Grandfather was a vampire himself, he just hadn't completely turned.
@@bosoxfan2525 Is that a comic book storyline by any chance? I haven't read any Lost Boys material but often wondered about the extended lives and histories of the characters.
Cry Little Sister is an awesome song. The whole Lost Boys Soundtrack ROCKS! Such a classic movie
I”m always fascinated how well a movie works without the marketing. The poster for this movie was iconic because it looked like a hip album cover but then the tag line peaked your interest. “Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It’s fun to be a vampire.” Everybody who bought a ticket knew it was 80s take on Vampires, so it was cool that you had zero idea what was going on. Lots of fun
Did you catch the nuances Kiefer puts into David's character? The tear he sheds for Marco. The subtle joy on his face upon dying. He was outstanding.
It's funny that way. The tear he shed was because the contact lenses were hurting him. But Joel Schumacher put it in the final cut because it worked so well.
The tear was because the contact lenses he was wearing hurt. It was real, and they kept it in.
RIP Corey Haim! The song with Michael and Star by the way is The sisters of mercy - Cry little sister. One of the best movie songs within the vampire genre ever imo! Its such a good movie. A total cult classic.
Thevsong title is correct. The original version which is in this movie was written and performed by Gerard McMahon. If SOM did a version, it was a cover. Marilyn Manson covered it also.
@@jasonstinebaugh8447 My bad, you're 100% right thanks!
Cry little sister is an amazing song.
@Necramonium Last concert of his I attended when he toured with Rob Zombie, he performed that song.
@@jasonstinebaugh8447 Ventana did a great cover of it as well.
The idea of the movie came from one of the writers, "What if Peter Pan was a vampire, and what if the Lost Boys were vampires too? This explains why they never grow up."
This was the second Vampire movie I saw growing up on VHS and the first was Bram Stoker's Dracula.
RIP, Joel Schumacher, for making this movie possible.
I was a kid when this movie was filmed in my hometown of Santa Cruz. It really was this weird and this beautiful. No vampires though. It was a big deal for our little town. (Most recently the Boardwalk was featured in Jordan Peele’s movie Us). This movie has a place in my heart for it’s quirky, hometown nostalgia. And it’s a classic vampire movie.
The sax player is Tim Cappello, a very talented musician, He was part of Tina Turner's band through the 80's and 90's. He was often featured in her videos and not just for his talents, if you get my drift. I used to love watching him play. 😍😜😜
Corey Feldman and Kiefer Sutherland share the screen again in "Stand By Me", a Stephen King story thats not horror.
Its about a group of friends growing up in the '50s, who go on an adventure.
One of the best screen adaptations of one of his short stories
Amazing how many King's books weret made to movies!
A definite must watch is "Stand By Me". It was a huge rite of passage movie in the 80's. It had both Corey Feldman(Edgar Frog) & Kiefer Sutherland(David) in it along with many other talented young actors.
Stand by me is aMUST! One kf my favorites when i wasa kid
WATCH “STAND BY ME”!
Yep, and it’s based on a Stephen King short story called “The Body”.
I❤️!🥺🤯😰😵💫🧛🏻♀️
I was just coming to the comment section to suggest this one!!
One of my all time faves! What a classic and what a soundtrack too. Cry Little Sister is just epic!
GREAT movie and one of the best soundtracks ever!
Hey, thx for naming the song.
This was the first movie soundtrack I ever bought specifically for that song!
The lost boys is my all time fav vampire movie🥰
My two most fav lines from this movie are:
"A vampire,my own brother. A goddamn vampire"
"Great, the blood sucking Brady bunch"
Forever a classic
Death by stereo!
@@scottbarr4249This maybe my favorite line in the movie, as well.
You wait till mom gets home
You guys would love Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure from 1989(SO MUCH FUN!). It stars Keanu Reeves ( Neo from the Matrix and John Wick) and Alex Winter- who played the first vampire in this movie that got stacked in the cave by the two Cory's as they were know back in the day LOL.
I would also like to recommend the opening track to the Bill and Ted`s Excellent Adventure for a music suggestion. Maybe for female friday? The song is "I can`t break away" by the band Big Pig. It`s actually a quite different cover of the original by Chuck Jackson who also is worth checking out! Female vocalist Sherine Abeyratne in Big Pig sings with such power and not to forget about the drumming by this band. You`re in for a suprise you absolutely will love!
Agreed. One of these days I'll have to watch the sequels.
This is one of my all time favourites. Vampires, 80s style, 80s soundtracks it’s perfection to me
The next movies you two should definitely watch are “stand by me” and “the outsiders”, both excellent movies!
Corey Haim. WHEN he WAS young. And, innocent.
🙏🏽😔RIP Corey😔🙏🏽
This is one of several movies starring “The Corey’s”….. Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. They were an unstoppable pair in the 80’s. I recommend “License To Drive” next.
Kiefer Sutherland (head vampire) such a good actor. His father Donald Sutherland is also a great actor.
Yes, for Donald Sutherland: The remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and MASH , Plus bit part in Animal House! And the Dirty Dozen
The greasy sax player at the beginning was actually part of Tina Turners band in the 80's...
If I am not mistaken, that was NOT a George Michael poster, but one of the actor Rob Lowe, who was a teen idol in the 80s.
It was definitely Rob Lowe
"Holy sh*t, it's the attack of Eddie Munster!" One of the best and funniest lines in a movie ever!
3:55 The muscular saxophone guy is named Timm Capello. He is mainly known for this movie and for accompanying Tina Turner for quite some time. He's 67 now but still performing.
I was hoping someone would tell that. I didn't know his name, but definitely recognized him from Tina's performances. Did not remember him appearing in Lost Boys though.
I saw Tina Turner in concert and Timm Capello was playing sax.He was amazing! My mom still mentions him when we talk about that concert.
Fun Fact...The guy with the saxophone is Tim Cappello he is mainly known for his work as saxophonist for Tina Turner in the 1980's and 90's and for this movie scene.
Iconic cast Kieffer, Bill, from Bill & Ted's excellent adventure, Corey Feldman, lots of people
The song you asked about is called Good Times and it's by Jimmy Barnes & INXS.I love this movie so much. You guys rock!
The other song is Cry Little Sister by Gerard McCann,I've got the soundtrack lol.
You need to react to this
I was working at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, CA (where much of this was filmed) the season that the movie came out. The booth where I sold tickets, right across from the Giant Dipper roller coaster, gets shown in passing during that intro segment where it pans down the Boardwalk. So this movie was always extra special for me.
There were a bunch of changes made to turn Santa Cruz into the fictional Santa Carla. For instance, there was no comic shop on the Boardwalk. The one in the movie was Atlantis Fantasyworld, which was located inland in the Pacific Garden Mall (a long street of odd shops and restaurants that unfortunately was almost entirely destroyed in the Loma Prieta earthquake). The two stoned-out hippie looking people in the background were the actual owners.
During the opening credits, when the Echo & The Bunnymen version of the Doors classic "People are Strange" is playing, those were actual scenes in and around Santa Cruz, featuring a lot of the more unusual local residents. Santa Cruz before the quake was a really neat place, with a cool vibe to it. Unfortunately, once it was rebuilt, the vibe changed, and it became much more plastic and commercialized. As has been mentioned elsewhere, the soundtrack as a whole was pretty iconic.
Kudos that you recognized the most famous line from this movie needed to be included in your reaction. "The One Thing I Could Never Stomach About Santa Carla Was All the Damn Vampires." is one of those lines that fans quote endlessly and use to recognize each other haha.
Did you notice that Ghostbusters Afterlife basically has the plot of The Lost Boys only with ghosts instead of vampires?
Single mom with two kids moves into dad's house in crappy town, meet locals, become friends... Mom dates a quirky guy, they borrow the old car, and in the end grandpa saves them?
Yup. Corey Feldman was in stand by me, the Goonies, and Gremlins among others. Also, Corey Haim and Feldman became known as the two Corey's because they worked in about 5 or six films after this one together. They also starred in the reality show called the two Corey's. They are a Huuuuuge part of my childhood. Corey Haim pasted away like 10 years ago and Feldman never regained his success as a child actor.
And they both starred in other horror films, so they must have enjoyed the horror genre. Corey Haim in Silver Bullet and Corey Feldman in Friday the 13th Part 4.
@@AZambri1 Corey Feldman was also in The "Burbs which isn't strictly a horror film but has horror elements in it. I should have said horror tones in it.
You don't even want to know what Charlie Sheen did to Corey Haim during the shooting of "Lucas". I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with podomy.
@@ckobo84 The only person accusing Charlie Sheen of that was Cory Feldman who said Haim told him it happened. Sheen denied it and was a well known womaniser so it doesn't make much sense but like most things Corey Feldman has claimed in the last few years it's a bit sketchy. He claimed he knew who Hollywood child abusers were but to name names he started a go fund me to make a documentary instead of notifying the correct authorities.
What Corey is doing is trying to boost his profile through his dead friends memory as he can't get an acting job because of his drug use and his music career is a joke. Sad really
@@A-small-amount-of-peas Well we know Hollywood is a cesspit, and child abuse has been going on there for years, everyone knew what Polanski got up to and laughed about it, until the public got wind of it and Polanski moved to France to escape prosecution, as one well known example. Hollywood is a propaganda outlet to manipulate emotions and with it public opinion and consequently what they consent to. and most of the people in Hollywood are compromised in some way shape or form, to ensure their complicity and silence. Its one big club and we are thankfully not in it !
🤘💜🤘 I was a 15 year-old Metalhead when this movie came out and it was so great to see Rock & Metal vampires. 1987 was a great year. Your reactions are absolutely great!
i graduated high school in 1987. this was my flick! So glad they watched it
I was 14 when this movie came out. And I agree. This is one of my all-time favorite 80s movies.
They should react to the mummy movie
Wow, I forgot about this movie. Really brings back memories.
YeSSS This was such a fun movie I saw it 13 and thought the Frog brothers would make great friends. They Love comics bikes and skateboarding...right up my alley.
"At what point do you realize this is the wrong group of friends?" - Amber, sharp as usual!
One thing I love about The Lost Boys is the soundtrack.
Cry Little Sister
Good Times
Lost In The Shadows
Such brilliant tracks and some of my favourite songs. This is one of my all time favourite Vampire films. Really enjoyed you guys reaction to it.👍
don't forget to mention I Still Believe from Tim Cappello
One song from this movie soundtrack that needs a reaction: The INXS/Jimmy Barnes cover of "Good Times"--Absolute banger.
You two are a lot of fun. It's actually better when you don't know much about the movies going in. It lets us who have seen it get the closest we'll ever be to experiencing these movies again for the first time. That's why we watch reaction videos.
Since you liked this so much you should check out the movie, Fright Night, the 1985 version, not the remake. It's excellent.
I'd also recommend "Near Dark". A very different vampire movie from Lost Boys and Fright Night, but also excellent.
Exactly this. A dear friend of mine had never seen or heard of Ferris Bueller's Day Off (I know). It was fun for me to watch her enjoy it and laugh at all the things. It eventually became our thing where we'd watch something she'd never seen but I had.
In the storyline, it's insinuated albeit subtly that the grandfather was once a slayer. His becoming a taxi dentist was for the animal blood he kept in the fridge in wine bottles although it was never officially stated. There was supposed to be a sequel, however Corey Haim passed away and it was put on hold. RIP Corey Haim.
Sorry, taxidermist. Autocorrect sucks, lol.
Loved it! Keifer Sutherland is one of my favorite actors to this day ("24" especially) and I think you both would also enjoy another one of his earlier films called "Flatliners" which also stars Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon as medical students experimenting with near-death experience...
That was kind of a scary movie too
I met him while he was filming flatliners. He was just chilling at a local bar with some of the crew. He bought us locals a bunch of rounds with them and just hung out like he wasn’t some huge movie star. Super cool dude.
Nobody ever does a reaction video to Flatliners which is a shame, that's a good movie! Kiefer is a great actor, he's been one of my favorites since I was a kid.
This movie is so 80's. It is so nostalgic for me and I'm sure a million other kids of the 80's. Possibly the greatest decade to be a kid. Love this movie!!
I grew up in the 70s and 80s. I wish my kids could've experienced what we had.
Kid?? Was much better to be a teenager during the 80's..
80's were awesome
Forget those Twilight movies. THIS made you want to be a vampire. It’s really one of the first films I remember that really “glamorized” the idea of the undead. “Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It’s fun to be a vampire.”
Such a brilliant movie, just an absolute mindscrew. And Kiefer Sutherland made the best villain. He was so amazingly good in this movie. My best friend saw this twenty-something times in the theater. For two months he literally worked whenever he wasn't in school just to pay for movie tickets and the gas to drive there.
Perfect 80’s movie, captures the zeitgeist of 80’s pop culture perfectly. The hair the music, the values lol 😂
We were just talking about this movie last night. It really is a classic. Jason Patric aka Michael is Jackie Gleason's grandson (his mother was Jackie Gleason's daughter). Jason Patric's father was the young priest in the Exorcist, Jason Miller. Another classic is "Flatliners" with Kiefer Sutherland (David), Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon. RIP Corey Haim & Jason Miller.
Yesss love this movie to death, along with Flatliners.
First time I've ever seen anyone watch this movie who didn't know it advance it was about vampires. Watching you all with your "what the hell is going on" reactions was priceless.
Absolutely love this movie. My friends and I went to see it at a midnight movie showing while we were in high school. After we went camping. Had ourselves a nice bonfire going under a tree similar to the massacre scene in the movie. Mike took the 4-wheeler back to the house to get some more drinks, and the rest of us decided to hide. Bruce, who happened to be wearing a trench coat similar to the vampires, climbed up the tree. Mike came back and parked right under him. Bruce swung down, hanging upside down right in front of him with that trench coat waving around him and Mike jumped about 3 feet in the air! This movie always reminds me of that night, and I always get a good laugh.
Other than Top Gun or possibly Footloose, this was probably the number one movie soundtrack of the 80's. You could argue it should be number one, as there is more depth to this soundtrack with several great tracks. This first time you asked about what song was on was "Good Times" by Inxs. I was one of the few kids who wasn't an Inxs fan growing up, but I did love that one song. Definitely worth a reaction from you all.
This movie has so many great one liners. It is one of my favorites. Saw it about 20 in the theater and actually paid full price for it when it came out on VHS. And as others have mentioned, the soundtrack is one of the best from the 80s. And definitely agree with those who suggest Stand By Me. It’s one of the best adaptations of a work from Stephen King.
This movie came out when I was 27 and I'm 62 now it is still one of my favorite movies of all time!
Such a good movie!
Great cast, amazing soundtrack!
The Cory’s are the stars of the show!
Still hurts to see a young Corey Haim. RIP
The only song that I thought was missing from the soundtrack is def leppards "love bites." I always said it wouldn't fit the film perfectly.
This was filmed down the road from where I was born and raised. Filmed at the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk in Santa Cruz CA. The amusement park founded in 1907 offers a variety of games & rides right on a mile-long stretch of sandy beach. They have one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the world called the Giant Dipper. It took 47 days to build and opened on May 17, 1924. I try to get back there every year.
I’m there every summer
This movie is iconic vampire fun. Another great 80s vampire flick you two MUST check out is "Fright Night". That movie is so great!!
“Now you know what we are. And know you know what you are. You’ll never grow old Michael. And you’ll never die. But you must feed!”
I cannot help but admire the concision of that very short speech.
The soundtrack to this movie is one of the best of the '80s, IMO.
The version of People Are Strange in this movie is a cover of The Doors song by Echo & The Bunnymen, whose best-known song is probably The Killing Moon. (Which you ought to react to on your music channel). Other songs include Cry Little Sister by Gerard McMann, and the song at the boardwalk, I Still Believe, was by Tim Capello (the sax man). Capello basically reprised that role in a video for the synthwave band Gunship for their video Dark All Day.
Other movies I'd recommend after this: Fright Night (1985), Near Dark (1987). There's also a remake of Fright Night from 2011 which is very good, but I'd watch the original first.
Definitely the original Fright Night. Chris Sarandon was awesome, and, I mean, Roddy McDowell. No contest.
As a kid, I saw Fright Night (85) in the theater; the scene when Amy changed scared me soo much I ducked down in my seat. My cousin thought it was the funniest thing, I still turn away when that part comes on.
@@AZambri1 But Colin Farrell......sigh....I have mixed mental and physical emotions! Lol
Ray Manzerik on keyboards on People Are Strange cover by Echo and The Bunnymen
Love Killing Moon!
Yep, that was Corey Feldman (one of the Frog brothers) who was also in The Goonies. Another awesome movie he was in is The Burbs, with Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, Rick Ducommun, Wendy Schaal, and Henry Gibson. One of my all-time favorite movies. You should definitely react to it!
the burbs" is definitely a fine movie (imho) worth watching
Also in Stand by me ..
THE 'BURBS is on my favorite list, too. Love the interaction between Corey's character, Ricky, and his neighbors the Rumsfields.
Definitely, so few people know about movies like 'The Burbs' or 'The People Under The Stairs'. All these are such great films.
Here's a couple fun facts about this amazing movie!
The movie almost wasn't given permission to shoot the film on the boardwalk. The producers changed the name to Santa Carla, from Santa Cruz, as at the time Santa Cruz was actually the murder capital of the world, & didn't want it widely advertised. And Michael's name is said more times than any other word, at 118 times.
The dynamic duo of the 90s Corey Haim (RIP❤) and Corey Feldman! And yes they were both in The Goonies
There is nothing to not love about this film. Amazing cast, story, horror, comedy and one of the best soundtracks ever.🧛🖤
Akin to the Rocky Horror Picture Show(Nothing not to Love) .
When vampires where sexy but scary 😏😏😏
Tim Cappello was the saxophonist on 'I Still Believe' - one of the songs in this movie. He also worked a lot with Tina Turner, particularly at her stage shows. Do have another listen to him playing on The Lost boys the soundtrack, you'll love it! Oh, and in later years, Kiefer Sutherland was known for the TV show 24.
I love Tim Cappello.
He also played a hell of a big bad wolf kinda guy in the movie "Freeway" starring a young Reese Witherspoon...
One of the greatest vampire movies either. Very atmospheric too. And, an incredible soundtrack.
I had the BIGGEST crush on Corey Haim! ❤️ I saw this movie so many times I could quote it line for line for people that weren't allowed to go see it 😂 still gets me all fan girly 💓 LICENSE TO DRIVE is a great coming if age movie with the Corey duo from here 😉
This was from a time when they were making [quote][unquote] "scary" movies that were just spooky enough to give you a chill but still accessible and sometimes funny. Fright Night was another and a really fun watch. They usually had an interesting "premise" question to say why the movie was made. This one was "What if Peter Pan and the Lost Boys were vampires?" Watch the original Fright Night and try to guess the premise!
I love Fright Night. Fright Night, The Lost Boys and Near Dark changed vampire movies.
Love love love that you watched this. As a Haim girl I will never miss a chance to watch my preferred Corey. I would also highly recommend Lucas, Silver Bullet, Firstborn, Dream a Little Dream and License to Drive.
As to the "murder capital of the world" graffiti on the Santa Carla sign, it's actually referencing a real world newspaper headline from Santa Cruz Cali (where The Lost Boys) was filmed. At one point, the town had 2 serial killers working the town ( the more famous being Ed Kemper aka the co-ed killer). It hits different once you know that fact.
The Doors poster in the vampire layer was there because of Jason Patric's uncanny resemblance to the late rock star Jim Morrison. So, yeah I guess it's obvious I'm a serious fan of this film.
I was a Haim girl too!
I was so disappointed that Jason Patric didn’t play Morrison in the movie The Doors. I noticed the resemblance as soon as I saw Lost Boys. Val Kilmer is great and all but I think he would have been amazing.
And this soundtrack is perfection.
Omg! Dream A Little Dream!! Yes yes yes please!!!
I suggested Lucas a while back. I really think they’d love it
The song was a cover of "Good Times". INXS and Jimmy Barnes are doing it. It has a cool in the studio vid you could react to. The original was by the Easybeats. George Young (older brother of Angus and Malcom) was the lead guitarist and Harry Vanda was the vocalist. George and Harry also produced most of the Bon Scott era ACDC albums.
I finally got my son to watch this, and he noticed that Marco (Alex Winter) was from the Bill and Ted series. Yes, I saw both those movies in the theater when they came out. Hush. I'm old, but wouldn't trade that experience for anything. I even had the original poster for Lost Boys from the theater. My friend worked there. I also read that Joss Whedon based Spike from Buffy off of David as far as his look went, and Billy Idol. (Mony Mony).😉 Loved your reactions, as it's nice to see people watching it for the first time.❤
This is a movie that doesn't get mentioned enough with other great horror films, untill you see that it's on television or someone mentions it. Then you would say, oh yeah how could I forget this movie? It's a classic...💯
I grew up with this movie and totally agree
@@js6729 💯🙌🏽
I was blessed enough to see this movie in the theaters when it first came out. At the end of the movie when grandpa said his line, the entire theater was completely quiet for a grand total of five seconds. Then the place exploded with people yelling and cussing at grandpa about knowing and not saying a word about the town having vampires in it it was hilarious!
This movie was filmed on the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California - I've been there a bunch of times. It was also really cool to see it again in Jordan Peele's US.
Great 80s movie 😆 Glad you liked it so much and I see a bunch more 80s movies on your channel. Can't wait to see your reactions.
18:20 I fell in love with "Cry Little Sister" the moment I heard it back in 1987. It is beautiful and haunting at the same time. I blast it on high whenever I play the soundtrack. It remains my favourite song from the whole album. My teenager even loves it.
Another great choice guys you're killing it. You should also react to Fright Night. It's the other teenage vampire movie from the '80s. Be careful that you watch the one from the '80s and not the horrible remake from a few years ago.
You should consider watching Stand By Me. It has a great performance by Corey Feldman (from the Goonies). Plus a nice sound track.
Idk how many times I watched this movie and ‘Twister’ when I was a kid and didn’t realize until a few years ago that Star is the psychologist fiancé that has the famous line “We got cows!”
Cry little sister will never get old in my opinion. One of the very best songs from the 80's.
Definitely one of the greatest 80s movies. Up in my top 10 movies of all time. And that soundtrack wow. From Tim Capello's (guy with sax) I Still Believe, to Gerard McManns amazing Cry Little Sister. Tragedy and troubles followed some of the child stars of this movie, Corey Haim (Sam) died at 38 yrs old, And Corey Feldman (Edgar Frog and The Goonies) went through a lot from drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and in recent years his accusation of being abused by famous hollywood stars. Would love to see some reactions of some of the songs on this song track over on your music reaction channel.
Corey F is also deciding to name who it was. After Corey H passed away Corey F was going to keep quiet for his own sobriety and the fact he knew his children would be affected and they were so young. He's thinking about writing a book about it and is figuring out the legal ramifications and the personal to his family if he named those that were the predators because he knows that he and Corey H were not the only ones. It's heartbreaking that he feels like it's all on his shoulders knowing that more kids will get hurt if this person isn't held accountable.
R.I.P. Corey Haim❤️🙌🏻❤️😞
I saw this movie in the theater about 10 times. My friends and I LOVED this movie. The soundtrack is still so fantastic.
Every time it's on, my Mom texts me to let me know. Lol. I'm 50.
Same here! I'm 48 & my brother and I love this movie! We text each other everytime we see it's on. Lol we know it word for word. Amazing great memories.
Corey Feldman was the Voice of Donatello from the motion picture 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
Corey Haim and Corey Feldman were best friends for years since their acting days until Corey Haim passed away...
Great reaction.
"Silver Bullet" with Corey Haim & Gary Busey based on a novella by Stephen King is another great movie to see.
If you guys enjoyed that, I think you'll also like Fright Night from 1985! It's a similar mix of humor and horror that keeps it light in a similar fashion. Another fun one (I think from the 90s) is Idle Hands.
The song you asked about in the movie with the children's choir is called "Cry Little Sister (Theme From The Lost Boys) by Gerard McMann. Not to be confused with the remake they did for the Lost Boys 2 - The Tribe movie... that one was by Aiden.
I grew up in the 80s and I love this movie so much. So nostalgic! Loved your reaction to it, one of the better reactions to this movies on UA-cam, I think.
Fun fact: When they are exiting the vampire's lair and trying to escape the "leader" dragging Sammy back - the tear that falls when he says "tonight" was not scripted. It was a reaction from Kiether Sutherland's eyes due to the yellow contact lenses. The director liked it so much they kept it.
This is in my top 5 favorite movies, I can watch it over and over. The vamp with the curly blond hair starred with Keanu Reeves in the Billl and Ted movies. The two Corey's did a lot together. Can you see why we love it so much. Even after you know everything, you can go back and watch it again with almost the same reactions. I love Kiefer Sutherland in this.
Hell yea to this reaction. My favorite vampire movie next to Interview with a Vampire.
One of my favs of the 80’s . I think y’all would also enjoy “The Outsiders”. With Patrick Swayze , Matt Dillon. Ralph Machio , Tom Cruise. And another great vampire movie is “Interview With A Vampire”. With Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. It’s even better than this one.
No it's not. Not even close
I dunno, I think Kiefer makes a much better vampire than Tom does.
@@heatherryan3969 What’s not even close? Interview With a vampire? Yeah that movie is trash
The Lost Boys is a fun watch, but Interview with a Vampire is fantastic and far better of the two. Love that movie! :)
@@xzonia1 In your opinion lol
I remember seeing this in the theater years ago. Yes... I'm old... It is one of my all time favorite vampire movies. Kiefer Sutherland just has the perfect face and mannerisms to play a villain.
Has been my favorite movie of all time since I was a kid watching it in the theatre.
Movie "Footloose" - about music and dancing and features Kenny Loggins' song "Footloose"
Amazing movie, the script and dialogue is so good
And you really need to watch Footloose, before you watch Guardians of the Galaxy. Just trust me on this.
This has been a favourite of mine for many years.
When my daughter was about 12, I decide to let her watch it, she thoroughly enjoyed it. To the point a few years later, whe she was looking for a gaming name, she chose Death by Stereo... What Sam says when he kills the vamp with the bow and arrow.
I was watching a reaction video to Halloween and they were like “It was made in the 70s or 80s, so it can’t be that scary.” She was sorely mistaken. 😂
One of the songs you asked about at the 7 minute mark was INXS - Good Time. If you want to see Jamie Gertz (Starr) in a very iconic movie, check out Less Than Zero, it has a great soundtrack as well, and was one of Robert Downey Jr's (Iron Man) early roles.
The movie was filmed in Santa Cruz California the most part in the scene where all the boys meet world comic book shop in the daytime. According to interviews with Corey Feldman he was completely stoned for the first time On cocaine or needed another hit and the Director was ready to fire it because he couldn’t get his marks.
LOVE this movie!!! Also LOVE 'The People Under the Stairs' 1991
Yes, so glad you guys watched this one! Now you need to react to 'The Interview with the Vampire' for sure!!
Agree. It different but still great, Interview with a vampire that is
the whole soundtrack to this movie is top notch
Fun movie. Brings back memories. Lol. Thanks for the reaction!
I had such a crush on Jason Patric and Jami Gertz (Michael and Star). For another 80’s cult classic try “Heathers” with Winona Ryder (who plays Lydia in Beetlejuice). It’s a teenage movie, but way darker and edgier than a John Hughes high school movie.
This was filmed in my hometown while I was growing up! So many locations are near and dear to my heart. 💜
This movie stands the test of time so well. I've seen it a lot, had the video for a while, and now have it digital. Comedy, horror, great acting, great scenery, great characters and storyline. Several of the actors went on to hit it big. The little brother died in 2010. The blond vampire already had a famous parent actor. I could watch it again and again. My cousin first took me to see it bc she thought the dark haired vampire was hot. Glad you watched it and enjoyed it. The soundtrack is great, don't forget to look it up and have a listen. Maybe you could do a whole album reaction or something like that, or just listen for your own pleasure.
In case it hasn’t been said yet, the version of “People Are Strange” in this was done by Echo & The Bunnymen. But yes, it was a cover of The Doors. “Lips Like Sugar” by them would be a good tune for your music channel.
LOVE THIS MOVIE! I got to meet Keifer Sutherland in 1987 along with Robert Downey Jr!
Keifer and Robert Downey Jr were in a movie together called "1969". I really like that movie.
@@joellehoude1225 Yep! Part of it was filmed at my former elementary school. I was in high school. My brother was still in elementary school. My mom was a parent that always volunteered. That's how I got to meet them. We were xtras in the film. Several friends were in the film also.
Greatest vampire movie ever. Takes me back to my childhood. I was about 8 or 9 when this came out. Great reaction!
I love it when he says he's always had bad breath lol
I love this movie, it's the perfect 80's film. Total zeitgeist, a knife edge blend of script, producer, director, cast and soundtrack. It could have gone wrong so easily and yet a fangtastic one of a kind movie legend was born!
Ps: in response to Rob's soundtrack question the song was Good Times
by INXS and Jimmy Barnes.
Pps: if you ever buy a soundtrack album this is the one, great tracks wall to wall!
Ppps: the version of people are strange at the start was a cover by Echo and the Bunnymen not the original by The Doors
And the other track (from the lovin scene) is Cry Little sister by Gerard McMahon
What a great movie and a matching soundtrack ... great pick ... to this day when I hear Cry Little Sister... that song... I just go back.. I am so lucky to have lived the 80's..
Of all the react channels who have reacted to this film, you two are by far the best and the most pleasant to watch, but not just for this film but just in general, movies and music, thank you.
In the 80s I was absolutely obsessed with the Corey's . Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. I went to the theater in 1987 to see this movie when it was released, me, my 12 year old cousin, and my aunt. She had to come because you had to be 18 or have a guardian. Everybody in the entire theater was glued to the screen, wondering what the hell was going to happen next. My aunt is dead ass asleep, when it came to the scene with the dog in the bathroom with the vampire, everybody in the entire theater jumped to their feet clapping and cheering.
