I’ve got 3 days of Timelapse footage to edit from taking my Soul down to Croatia from Yorkshire (I’m back on the Eurotunnel tomorrow after two weeks down in Istria), so I feel your pain, I’m hoping to get it all done in the next couple of weeks. Safe travels and have a wonderful time in Italy. Apart from a local charger in Croatia it’s all been IONITY passport and Telsa membership the whole way up and down (drivers side bumper still in tact… so far getting as close as possible to charge in the right stall) only had to queue twice for a few minutes, infrastructure is now a breeze even for the slower charging Niro/Soul/Kona. I’ve been charging up to a max of 72% to keep the charge times under 35 minutes (depending how deep into the pack I’ve got) ABRP has been excellent, but not to be trusted for traffic times, so Apple Maps gets deployed as well

Great to see you back! Watching this excitedly as next Sunday we set off on our road trip through Europe in our MY. Head to Le Touquet-Paris-Plage from the Midlands day one, then to Disney Land Paris, Montuex, then for a week in Lacarno before heading home via Bruges.
Always watch your videos. Planning on changing to an EV probably next year. I enjoy watching your travel videos and how you deal with the charging on route. We have done many road trips and plan on some when we buy our EV. Italy is now at the top of our road trip list. You are very good at putting a constructive point of view across..
I am watching on catchup and am about half way through. Our 1,300 mile round trip to Orkney in our ID.3 was done mainly by trusting where chargers are from knowledge and combining charge stops with rest stops which we take anyway. The best charge stop was the Tesla supercharger at Aviemore which was cheap as well as plenty quick enough. As so many Tesla superhargers are open now I am pretty sure that hou could do the trip using just Tesla chargers.

My wife watches the channel with me. That won’t show up in the stats. One of my daughters has viewed some too because we Chromecast to the tv in the kitchen.
It's okay to take a break mate 👍 Either that or focus on easy to produce, no editing content. Instead of making another high editing intensity Italy trip in the niro, just post a series of live updates on your phone for each stop and schedule the releases weekly. You'll be proud of the current quality I'm sure, but don't burn out on it

Driving the Tesla down the west coast with a single 40minute stop in Rennes is a lot simpler than your epic drives. .Does the new house have solar, or an option to add it? Now 450w panels are £65-75 each it's worth looking at when you have an EV especially!

On your way to Italy, so jealous. We were there March & April this year, hiking, sightseeing and visiting family. 6 weeks in all, 5000 miles in IONIQ 5. No issues with charging included 2 free, free parking in some towns. Bip & Go for tolls worked well. I’m sure you’ll enjoy. 😊

Thank you! More coming soon. I’ve not driven the Corsa-e but I drove its cousin, the e-208, down to Italy and it was great so I’m sure it’d be good. My only reservation would be regarding its infotainment/sat nav which isn’t great on Stellantis cars from what I’ve seen.

@@MrEV the Lexus is ccs type 2 and loads of chargers all the way didn’t have to wait either until we got to Prague on a Tesla supercharger because the charging point on the RZ is on the front left side and had to wait until a charger on the left was available. This meant the space was unusable on the left whilst I was there for my charge and if they made the cables longer wouldn’t have been an issue.
Well, if it’s not working out for you and your family and you have to do the best for family. Then it’s been good while it lasted but farewell and be happy. If we see you again, that will be good; if not, I guess that will be good too. On the EV side - I saw an black EV9 the other day. Complete with privacy glass from the B-pillar rearward, the size of a crewcab pickup, it looked like a hearse. And appeared to have the turning circle of a bus. I honestly can’t see the reason for such a vehicle in Brexitania. Perhaps there are bus drivers, who want a stretch limo as a daily driver.

Good to see you back. Just out of interest you say it is easy using Tesla because of the superchargers. But certainly in Europe most superchargers are now open to non teslas. So just use them instead of other chargers. However appreciate it is a manual task, but the Tesla app does a decent job of showing the chargers. And in all honesty cost wise usually a bit cheaper?. Albeit in Europe/Scandinavia a wash with Ionity, Allego, Recharge at most Macdonalds, plus many more stations now. Totally changed from two years or so a go.
Superchargers do tend to be much cheaper but it does take a bit more planning as they’re not always at motorway rest stops, for instance. On another journey perhaps we’ll try exclusively with Superchargers as we’ll likely save a fortune!

Pretty sure they used USB charging for the energy part and cellular network for internet connection...
Yes, just plugged into the car’s USB port and amazingly the 4G was relatively stable!
The improvement in Rapid charging everywhere makes planning not needed any more. Have a great trip sounds as though you need it.

We have just driven to Prague in a Lexus rx from Poole and the only problem we had was with the sat nav freezing on us. no problems charging.
Am I right in thinking the Lexus is Chademo? Were you always able to find suitable chargers?
