He told me that soldiers had evicted his family from there home of many generations. The were allowed to take what they could carry. I asked him if they could not complain to the authorities and he said no. The family moved into a hut or tent at the edge of the property and later the were evicted again. He said that the had to leave their " wealth" behind I assumed that this was money or other valuables hidden in the ground; but on reflection it may have been a growing harvest I was astounded and really though he was making this up. He said that the soldiers had full authority and it was believed amongst his people that these soldiers would kick all his people of their lands within years I knew nothing about the middle east and he never mentioned the nationality of the soldiers. I never saw him again as he was obviously a transient overnight guest. It was not until 1967 war that I began to understand what was happening in that region and then that this persons story became more believable

I’m a Australian viewer who isn't subscribed to LBC, I enjoy watching UA-cam clips of James' shows. His willingness to use his judgment and openly criticize Israel, regardless of potential consequences, is admirable. I also tuned in to Sangita's show because she's brilliant. It's concerning that she was sacked, especially if it's because she's a woman asking tough questions to Israeli officials. Why aren't male hosts facing the same repercussions for similar actions?

This answer to your question is pretty easy unfortunately. Israel has ridden high on the back of a status of being a third rail in western media. While this issue of apartheid, human rights and international law violations has long been championed by a mostly dead left, it is a stretch too claim that the issue has properly breached the surface. There have been slaughters in the past but only one side has been effectively represented. This position has given Israel complete impunity the way it can conduct itself. That enabling by the west was truly damning when it came time for October 7. The arrogance helped allow the whole thing to happen, and fueled a sense of immunity and comfort to do whatever they wanted in response. We are watching the disconnect between that media apparatus wheezing along while the visibility of the atrocities are just so glaring. Our young have not been steeped in the propaganda to the same degree and the absolute farce of it with the backdrop of the horror we are seeing creates a cognitive dissonance strong enough to break even some of the most powerful propaganda let alone those less propagandized. The sheer horror of complicity in the very horror makes this shift inevitable. The impunity granted to Israel made this shift from victims of one of the, if not the worst attack of the young century, to pariahs inevitable. This is what consistent lack of accountability looks like.

It was not until 1967 war that I began to understand what was happening in that region and then that this persons story became more believable

His willingness to use his judgment and openly criticize Israel, regardless of potential consequences, is admirable. I also tuned in to Sangita's show because she's brilliant. It's concerning that she was sacked, especially if it's because she's a woman asking tough questions to Israeli officials. Why aren't male hosts facing the same repercussions for similar actions?

I’m from the US and I’m not sure if this interview style is a UK thing or what but the habitual compulsion to interrupt people either while they are talking , answering a question or attempting to to answer makes people come across as disingenuous. This answer to your question is pretty easy unfortunately.
Israel has ridden high on the back of a status of being a third rail in western media. While this issue of apartheid, human rights and international law violations has long been championed by a mostly dead left, it is a stretch too claim that the issue has properly breached the surface. There have been slaughters in the past but only one side has been effectively represented.
This position has given Israel complete impunity the way it can conduct itself. That enabling by the west was truly damning when it came time for October 7. The arrogance helped allow the whole thing to happen, and fueled a sense of immunity and comfort to do whatever they wanted in response.
We are watching the disconnect between that media apparatus wheezing along while the visibility of the atrocities are just so glaring. Our young have not been steeped in the propaganda to the same degree and the absolute farce of it with the backdrop of the horror we are seeing creates a cognitive dissonance strong enough to break even some of the most powerful propaganda let alone those less propagandized.
The sheer horror of complicity in the very horror makes this shift inevitable. The impunity granted to Israel made this shift from victims of one of the, if not the worst attack of the young century, to pariahs inevitable. This is what consistent lack of accountability looks like.
I might add that putting Israel up on a pedestal as some special state only helped create the conditions that fueled this lack of accountability. Just had to include that for no reason.
