I remember recently when I won a Mario Kart 8 match against someone who had been in the same online lobby for several games, and was proving to be the best player out of the bunch (I think he was also the only other Australian there). I think it was on Piranha Plant Pipeway and we were on the last lap. I was a few metres behind him at that point and throughout the whole race it was mostly us at the front and I just could not seem to find a way to get in front - none of my items were helping throughout the race, being so close behind him. However, I had a green shell near the end. I didn't think I'd be able to do anything with it, but as we went through the hang-glider section out of the pipeway and into the open, I decided to unleash the shell just as I landed on the ground. Remarkably, the green shell actually hit him dead on, and I was able to easily drift around the last turn and beat him by a few metres. I was so proud of my green shell aim, and so glad I could beat him when I thought he was just too good for me.

I really like your custom track videos because there is more variety over the regular courses in mkwii.also the weird physics add on to the fun, so that's a bonus :)
See, this is more like it. Mario Kart Wii is the best Mario Kart game ever in my opinion. There were so many fun times with friends, family and even by myself with this game. It was also extremely fun to watch you play Mkwii with Justin, Colton, Connor, etc. Your videos have brought me so much happiness and are a giant inspiration for any average teenager that is thinking of making a youtube channel. You are and will continue to be my favorite youtuber, and I think Mkwii is really the peak of your channel. Keep doing what you're doing Troy, because it's simply amazing.
GGs I was using the pink Mii Dα♥Mαscαrα and was that Diddy with the huge lead. :P So Troy, 1080p now? Are you using the Wii-U's 1080p upscale or did you record this from the Wii? Curious, this looks nice btw. Comparing this video with the Maple Treeway Bam Shock Dodge, 1080p looks smoother, but blurrier. 720p looks clearer, but rougher. Just my opinion... not sure what I like more. This game is so damn picky when it comes to quality due to it not being natively HD (the Wii-U's upscale helps, but barely). It's ridiculous lol.

I remember a few summers ago when i use to come home and be so happy to watch these videos! Also bring back justin and connor and do more shortcut challenges i don't care if there are no more shortcuts they never really get old.

Hey Troy! You had a lot of bad luck in these races. Also, I've raced you once in 2011 in normal tracks, and I didn't even know you until I went on YT and you had a YT account. When I was racing you in one course which was N64 Bowser's Castle, I said "How is this guy so good?!" haha c'x

oh custom tracks LOL. alot of them are really good, and are lots of fun to race on. then you get those, like the ones in this video with really bad track designs, which are just horrible to race on. if only there was a way to port these over (the good tracks anyway) to MK8
Hopefully there will be once the whole MK8 modding thing has been fully figured out. I'm pretty positive though, since Bean said that MK8 uses mostly similar file types to MKW.

mario kart wii is only really 60% skill based. getting hit by 1 item gives an opportunity to make it easier to get hit by one more, and another one, and there is nothing you can do about it. otherwise i agree
I expected everyone to start coming back to MKWii eventually once they realized there's no good video content possible with MK8. I'm done with listening to all those people who blindly think this game is boring... It's hypocritical when they go and play MK8 with that mindset xD

Everyone loves your T Texture and Custom Music:) I've used your Custom Music pack for two years, and it's awesome. I changed GCN Mario to Route 209 from DPPt, MC3 to Night of Big Blue from F-Zero GX, LCWii and MCWii to Planet Colors from F-Zero GX, Raceway to PC Engine 4, BC3 to Flandre's Theme, Rainbow Road to Diantha's theme from X and Y, Moonview Highway to the NiGHTS and Reala theme from that NiGHTS game, MT to Kalos Route 15, DKS to N Final Battle from BW, and GV2 to that Epic music that you had in the Hammer Bro Stream. MKWii CTGP-R is objectively better than MK8.
If MK8 had custom tracks, it would probably be better than MKWii CTGP-R
