    Last time I checked they sell kits to swap GM engines into toyotas not kits to swap toy engines into GM vehicles. 4.3 is a big V6 matched by none from toyota. Good choice to do that platform.

    Great build, and yes finding parts would t be a problem. Not weird, being yourself in a free country. Bless you and your family 👪.

    I like it! I had a blazer way back and now am thinking about an overland style pickup for play time and would love to do something like you’ve done. I’m saddened to hear your having trouble with the trans. I was thinking of using a t5 with an upgraded rebuild kit if and when I get to doing it. But if you’re having trouble with the bigger trans on big tires perhaps I need to go to the better trans. Thanks for your input in this video series.

      Thank you for the comment! Yea the trans Is a little problematic, but it is still going somehow. The nv3500 is great in stock form, but the added stress of 40s and just the general abuse of offroading is definitely taking it's toll. I don't know a whole lot about the t5 other than it's supposed to be weaker than the nv3500?? Don't want to swear to that, but something I read somewhere along the way. I have all the parts to swap the big boy tranny in there, and am hoping to get to it this summer. Definitely doesn't hurt to go overkill sometimes. Keep rocking with your project!!!!

    Hi I'm a new sub! Like your videos. I'm building a DAKOTA for the same reasons you mentioned, especially #1 lol Here is a constructive comment: no music when you talk please. It's very distracting, I can't always make out what you say, even the CC has trouble keeping up. Keep the videos coming!! Cheers!

    For the price of one Jeep or Toyota, you can buy ten S10s and make three drivable ones -- for you, the girlfriend and the stepson.

    Your not weird , a straight axle swap is cool and it takes a good amount of engineering to make it reliable. Well done .

    Its actually genius if youre into engineering but as far as looks its far from easy to say anything about common knowledge so to each their own , good luck keeping up with jeeps with coilovers

    The Toyota price tag is ridiculous. My 83 I could sell for 10-15k. I paid 2,500 for it 10 years ago, WTF. I would do a S-10 also, if I did not have the old toygoata.

    • @ClinkenbeardStrong
      @ClinkenbeardStrong  Рік тому +1

      Yessir. The price is out of this world. They are great trucks, but not worth refinancing your house over.

      @ClinkenbeardStrong Also not worth 200 hrs of rust repair for a cheap one. The aftermarket parts for them have 3x to 4x $ since I started wheeling them. The cherry on top is that they are very tiny, so very limiting interior space. I am going to put the oldie on some 33's and keep waxing it, but getting something else to beat the tar out of. Like a Samuri or something. (My brother has a beat up one, will get him to murder eventually) I was thinking a S-10 would do great as well. Thank You for the video :)

    • @ClinkenbeardStrong
      @ClinkenbeardStrong  Рік тому +1

      @@iankovac1878 very true, although we don't have to many rust issues around here. A cheap Toyota here looks like it rooled down a hill 50 times..... And probably has. Yes the price of building has definitely got out of hand too, but thats the same for any truck. The plus side on the s10 is the initial cost helps offset that. Your classic on 33 would be really cool. Those are really nice looking old trucks. Thanks for the kind words and interesting conversation!!

      @@ClinkenbeardStrong I have had rangers, s10, frontier, and a few Tacoma’s. I was also a mechanic and body and paint guy for 30 years. Out of all these trucks you can’t beet Toyota. After owning and work on all these vehicles I am a die hard Toyota fan. Toyotas are practically indestructible but that comes at a cost with used trucks. They have insane resale value that drives some to look else where. I admit that they are a pain to SAS them. This is were rangers and S10 shine. They are way easier to SAS.

      @@JohnDoe-ud2cc I would agree that Toyota's are an absolutely amazing truck. I would never say otherwise. I've owned a handful my self. I was also an import mechanic for years and specialized in Toyota. With that being said they aren't perfect. Also in my personal opinion, and I wanto emphasize "opinion". But I don't feel they are worth what they go for. Again just my opinion. But I really do love hearing your point of view. It's these differences that make for great conversation. Thank you for sharing with me.

    High horses out of the 4.3 cost a lot. $$$ mite as well do a ls swap at that point. That’s what I ended up doing trying to build a 4.3. It cost me just as much.

    I'm thinking you made the right choice for your vehicle because of all the different parts you could use from GM but you can also use Ford stright axles to make it or a 14 bolt GM there is all kinds of things you can. So good luck with the build and maybe you can give Ideas 💡 so I can do the same thing or something like it.
