I’m a cis woman and I’ve been using men targeted razors since I started shopping for myself back in college because they were easily 3 times cheaper than “women razors”(also I kinda hate pink). One of my roommates (also cis woman) was out of razors and asked me for one and got so surprised when I gave her a blue and grey one and asked me if men’s razors were safe to use… like girl, what do you want me to say, they’re razors, they’re sharp, be careful not to cut yourself, but they’re not any less or more dangerous than any other razors.

2:26 this is actually really common for manga artists to do. It’s just a visual language thing so people can differentiate between genders a bit better. Of course, not all manga artists follow this because they don’t have to. But a lot do to prevent confusion when not much of the body can be seen
i get that, but also, why is it that way and who decided that a girl's face and a boy's face has to look in that specific way to differentiate them? like i get wanting to differentiate them and all, but it's still kinda shitty to tell ppl that "this is how you draw a women or a feminine person" and "this is how you draw a man or masculine person" like tbh i would 100% draw a woman in the "men's style" and i feel lke i could still make it clear she's a woman. especially bc i would like...say it in the story, y'know? not trying to be rude, i completely understand your point!! just wanted to expand a bit on it
I’m not entirely sure on the history of it but it might be based on real life anatomy differences that some men and women throughout history have exhibited? And a lot of people flip this over as well. Normally to give off a feeling of danger or edginess. It really all comes down to what the artist wants to tell the viewer.
It's the visual shorthand that we've collectively agreed upon for the last hundred years of heavily stylized cartoons. This guide is to show baby artists how to emphasize those traits in a manga style that will be easily understood by viewers. The eastern style has much more subtle gender differences than western media, where superman's entire head is a square. The shorthand indicates a particular character role the same way western media likes to make the heros dorito shaped and the villans slinky and smart characters have glasses and nice characters are kind of rounded, but the more nuanced techniques can't be learned until the artist understands the basics, like how to indicate age and sex. For extreme gender dimorphism look at Illumination studio's animals. The males have giant noses and chins and the females have tiny pointy noses and big eyes. It's good for a laugh.
I was assuming it was written under the assumption of, _"Ah! No have absolutely no clue how to properly use these mystical contraptions!"_ which is pretty stupid, regardless...
The microwave is for men! I as a woman have never reheated leftover macaroni and cheese in the microwave. I must first dish out the appropriate amount of Mac and cheese, then I need a man to place my bowl in the microwave while he types in the correct time. He must then wait around until it finishes, then I give it a little taste to see if the Mac and cheese is properly reheated. That is the way nature intended microwaves to be used! Yes, this is satire.

"Bible Stories for Girls" fills me with a certain dread. On one hand, yeah sure Mary is holy and whatever, Ruth and Naomi have a sweet story, Rebekah is a crafty sort, and there are several other women of high valor within the central narrative. On the other hand, do the people behind that book have any idea how many Biblical girls and women are "violently dishonored", prostitutes, sacrifices, or some combination of the three? It's not all sunshine and rainbows!

You know, when I was younger and forced into believing cis female was my only choice, I drew to absolutely hate things labeled "for girls" or stereotyped towards girls because I hated the idea that someone was telling me how to live my life and I purposely pursued gender neutral and boys options as a form of rebellion because I didn't like people telling me what to do. Since I've realized I am definitely not cis, I feel a little more comfortable entertaining things stereotyped at women because I no longer personally consider anything to be gendered, though a tiny part of me hates that people will see me as a cis female doing girly things.

Hi everyone, in my school they have to decide if they want to put a third bathroom for non binary people and my mother, being the headmaster, has asked me what I think about that. She doesn't know if it's better to put a third bathroom, remove the gender from all the bathrooms or just tell the non binary community in the school to go in whatever toilet they want to. I gave her my opinion but I'd like to know a few suggestions from someone who is non binary and experiences this kind of discomfort. Thanks to everyone who will take the time to answer❤️🏳️🌈
I would add a third bathroom, and tell people that they can use whatever bathroom. I wouldn't remove the gender from the other bathrooms though, that would just create a lot of problems (transphobic parents and whatnot) and this way everyone has a choice
i'm not nb but i believe it may be better if there's a third bathroom, i feel that nb peers would feel much comfortable in a bathroom that isn't gendered. i also think that it could unfortunately be unsafe for them if a homophobic person found them in one of the gendered bathrooms, too.
The mermaid one kinda makes sense (so long as there aren't chest bones underneath), if it died wearing the chest wrap, the wrap would've outlived the flesh. All the others are stupid af though.
The kitten...ROFL In my personal experience, female cats have louder, deeper, and more frequent meows, and males have cute little chirpy meows. Maybe I just have weird cats, (but then, they are cats, weird is the default)
No you're right. I always find it funny how ironic it is when a huge, muscular male cat walks up and starts chirping like a kitten. No clue why the females usually don't do this. Or why the males normally don't meow like the females. All cats have different voices and dialects though, so there are exceptions.
All the male cats I own have higher pitched meows, our female cats tend to be a little more raspy honestly. One of our biggest males has the cutest little chirpy meow constantly especially when he first wakes up

idk if this is a common thing, but all of the male cats I have ever known have much higher pitched meows than most female cats. it's to the point my cat voice recognition goes "oh him baby" whenever i heard a high pitched meow from an adult cat.
maybe people should consider than animals' sexual dimorphism isn't human sexual dimorphism..
I find it depends on the cat (I've known a LOT of 'em), but what made me smile is that I breed cats and a queen in heat can make a house vibrate. So yeah, cat voices and human voices don't compare.
Signed, someone who has been called "ma'am" over the phone all his life
well that's your experience because i never ever heard a difference between female and male cats, some cats have higher pitched voices than others and it has nothing to do with their sex

i got given a "girl's" bible and my brother a "boy's" one and they were not the same mine talked about how if you sin god will punish you with worse cramps and how to be a housewife. my brother's had crafts and learned about tools. ( they both had normal bible stories as well)
Wtf
Idk if this matters, but I'm a Christian and I just wanna say I'm so sorry. Those books using spiritual things to manipulate and shame you over things not even true to the bible is called spiritual abuse, and it's not okay. In fact, Jesus was known to empower women in a time and place where they culturally didn't have much worth, so it's so wrong for those gendered bibles to be that way. Sending love, Ava! -Ashley ❤
While I've never seen those types of bibles, I was going to say that they _almost certainly_ push toxic gender-stereotypes and -behaviors.
That's worse than I expected. I just thought it just be dividing the Bible stories by gender stereotypes.
Well shit, that's definitely worse than I expected. I never saw gendered children's bibles before, but I did get a girls' daily prayer diary thing from church once. Fun stoey, because my non-christian friend and I had found that same book in the library before that, thinking it was like a fun fictional diary kind of book, we found out it wasn't and thought it was pretty shit, and then they gave me the very same one at church 🙈 literally why 😂😂
Just when you thought it could not get any worse. I had hoped the girl's bible stories featured strong empowered women in the bible.
@@esf34147 anatomical differences in the body but it can differ. I am a cis male with my mother face shape.
The "For MEN only" microwave book was "pointlessly gendered", but more like "gatekeeping" imo.
to quote Ella Vaday from RuPaul's Drag Race UK 3 ,,Microwaveh" book

If I had a friend who was coming out as a trans man I would buy them that mancard gift card. That is the most appropriate use for that, lol.

A gender neutral toilet is a good thing but personally I use whatever toilet I feel comfortable using
I would add a third bathroom, and tell people that they can use whatever bathroom. I wouldn't remove the gender from the other bathrooms though, that would just create a lot of problems (transphobic parents and whatnot) and this way everyone has a choice
Remove the gendering and just make sure that bins (for pads n stuff) are in there and you'll be good!
i’d say gender neutral bathrooms but if the nb people want to use a different bathroom they can
i'm not nb but i believe it may be better if there's a third bathroom, i feel that nb peers would feel much comfortable in a bathroom that isn't gendered. i also think that it could unfortunately be unsafe for them if a homophobic person found them in one of the gendered bathrooms, too.
