Alexander Palmer I this comment during the round and I edited it as soon as he won. I did not edit it a week later. Also, you are an Alex. You should not insult a fellow Alex.
What’s amazing to me is how well spoken and articulate he is, for someone who hasn’t been in the spotlight for very long. I have plenty of friends his age that are amazing guys off the camera, but put a camera around them and they freeze up. Colin will have a very good career not getting caught up in everything.
I used to get breakfast burritos from this place when we were in La Canada. But we didn't play Chevy Chase, we played Oakmont and La Canada, and my pro was at Annandale. Wish he had gone to SC like most of us, but we still can support a Berzerkeley Bear. Congrats on the Claret Jug Collin!!
I’m now a low handicap player and have regularly played the first course I learned on and lemme tell you it is sooo much easier and shorter than I remember it
pi314159pipipi the first hole I played 5 years ago is a 187-yard par 3, miraculously I made birdie hitting a 3H off the tee. I now play off 7 and hit a 7-iron, although I haven’t made birdie in a while... 😂
Just watched Collin finish tied for 6th @11 under at the 2023 Genesis Invitational where he finished birdie, eagle, birdie on the last 3 holes. He's a great player and a cool, chill guy, with a beautiful wife, Katherine. They make a nice couple. Love to watch him play. 👍⛳🏆
He's so young. I think he's going all the way back to 2014 or something. I started playing at age 24 at Swope Park in Missouri (misery is also correct)...loved that course, and I don't think I ever broke 90 there. Haven't seen that course since that year that I lived in MO. It would be emotional for me, way back in 1988--if the course is still there. Many courses around me here in Ventura County have closed recently.
This was my introduction to Collin, don't know what it was but I kept researching this guy and had a suspicion he was 'my guy'. Evidently ever since I've been putting £10 bets on him every time I see his name on that starters sheet! Congrats Collin and thank you for being an absolutely stand up guy and a huge golf stud.
"Rarely did we say it was 'a good shot or a bad shot', but rather, what did we learn from it" That ladies and gents, is the difference. Never waste your experiences.
That’s what separates the elite from the rest of the pack. They don’t let their emotions get too high or too low, they learn from every shot and are only focused on the next hole/shot. That was my favorite clip of the video
Man I had the total opposite experience. Dad had a membership at a club when I was young. Grew up playing there. One day I got my license, first car and was able to go whenever I wanted. First day showed up, they wouldn't let me through the front gate. Didn't believe me who I was, gave em the member info and everything. Finally get through. Get to the course and go to put my bag on a cart. Sorry no one under 18 allowed. WTF? Im in high school, Im a scratch golfer, all I do is practice and play. Literally not a troublemaking kid at all. Finally we meet with the pro and member director, they wont budge on it. My dad resigns his membership on the spot. Tells em to get F'd that its ridiculous a perfectly good kid just wants to get better at golf can't come use the facility. I'd been going there for years, and the second I can go by myself they change the rules. I was so mad cuz all I wanted was a place to practice, I loved to practice like 3-4 hours a day until it got dark. Wish that never happened I loved that place
No, Colin M. doesn't sound like tiger. Colin is his own man. He is content playing golf, well grounded, social and he has a GF. Tiger was a recluse in his 20s/30s. Very awkward in public and not friendly at all. Tiger's early golf life was like marine bootcamp, there was only golf. Tiger was not well adjusted growing up. That's part of the reason for the numerous 'Transgressions' during his mid 30s. Collin Morikawa stands on his own without reference to TW.
@@Joeblow1981 You are right. Golf has always been a game for the affluent white community and still is to this day. On this matter, TW has NOT used his fame to change this notion of exclusion of non-white in golf. You barely hear of TW Foundation. He has not done much to help African Americans or minorities in golf. For example, TW didn't address the racist and misogynistic policy of not admitting black golfers at the Augusta National GC until 1990 and not admitting female golfers until 2012. Up until the early 90s, 100% of caddies at Augusta were African Americans. Instead TW built a high wall to shield himself from reality. TW is narcissistic and selfish, maybe these are the traits needed to be a successful athlete.
Is that the host or his coach/friend? Maybe I should know this so sorry if stupid question. But his energy is so chill and brings the best out of Collin
I have two that I started out on. Both par 3s. One I am pissed if I don’t shoot par or better as a 9 hole and the other is a very difficult 18 hole 4 times the length. I’m lucky if I can shoot close to +10 lol
Nickanator58 I live on Del Mar and Los Robles, Lucky Boys is right down the street, but I make the extra 6 minutes to Pharo’s cuz it’s ridiculously good and cheap. Burgers are fire and cheese fries 😳. Everything I’ve tried there is bomb my mom even loves it 😂

rather have that then a limp dead handshake. just the worst when they dont grab your hand, just lay it there like a old dead fish. haha

Love that approach - no good or bad shots, just what did we learn from it.
If I ever become good enough at golf, I wanna go back to my first course and see how I play and feel. Definitely something interesting to think about

After the PGA, Concession or The Open? 💣💣💣

He has easily become my favourite new golfer to watch!
You can tell both are good/humble guys who enjoy each others company. Wish this duo many more wins in the future.
No wonder he is so accurate off the tee. He learned early how to play tight courses.
That course looks like an absolute blast to play. A shot makers paradise. So much going on that you can hone some serious skills to travel.
It's hard to say anyone will be like Tiger, but Collin is already really, really good. If he continues to play this well he's a future HOF'er.
The first time I saw Colin play at Sage Valley in the junior invitational, I knew that he was a special player.
POV: you’re here cuz u love this dude after his win at Harding Park
Literally 60 yards behind Cameron Champ and didnt let it faze him!
That leaderboard was chocked full of bombers and he didnt give af.
Go Collin!
Coming here from the PGA Championship. Such a great dude, seems like the kindve guy that you could spark up a convo at anytime
La Cañada is sick! One of my favorite places in LA, quiet and nice. I was living and siding there when we won his first tournament on tour!
