I played competitive golf in SoCal at the same time in high school and let me tell you this guy was a legend. One high school tournament in particular, the Terra Lago tournament of champions(54 holes), Collin absolutely destroyed the field and the previous record previously set by Rickie Fowler(-7), by shooting -19. He doesn't know who I am but we all knew who he was for sure.
Cool thanks for sharing these stories. I had a buddy who played against jeremy lin in high school and he told some really cool stories.

@@cyrusfryback6807 they're just on another level. What's crazy is i'll play with a guy who's a +2 or something and their ball flight, sound of the hit everything is just beyond my comprehension. Then it hits that guys like morikawa make those +2's look like 20 handicaps lol it's insanity

Collin is such a down to earth bloke and to see him be so happy playing with the elder gentlemen at Chevy Chase Country Club shows he is still grounded. I have nothing but the utmost respect for him and wish him all the best in his quest to be world no 1 which he will most definitely achieve. Put it simple Collin is all class 👏
I actually got my first hole in one this past Sunday. It was the greatest feeling I’ve ever had in golf. Luckily I was with my uncle, dad and cousin and we jumped up and down and cheered. Groups nearby also saw and gave me fist bumps and high fives. I felt like a pro. 😂
I watched a 12 year old make an ace when I was playing last week with my usual group on 16 when we were on the 8th tee of my home course. we weren't completely sure it went in until he took it out. I had my hands and club in the air and as the kid took the ball out I dropped my club astonished and started waving and clapping, one of us whistled (like you would when cheering) and the kid saw us, which was cool. He waved to us, it was awesome.

got my first birdie on a chip in from like 20 feet out. 1 kid I was with saw and we started freaking out. My other 2 friends only saw us reacting. The guys on the tee box waiting also cheered for me when they saw me celebrate. It's a great feeling
@@alexanderjefferies7740 Maybe that 12 year old kid will become a famous pro golfer someday, and you'll always know "Man, I saw him hit a hole-in-one when he was a little kid". An already cool memory would just become that much more awesome!

Became a fan after that battle with JT. Goes on to win 2 majors. He's got such a good game and humble to boot. The way those old dogs basically skipped out of the club house speaks to how much they love him.

Ok let me say this I found colin when he was playing in collage and then watched him on his career so far and this video make me respect and love this guy as a golfer and a human now my favorite golfer 100% with out a doubt

I graduated high school in 2009. At 31 years old I look at Collin and he’s like a baby but playing professional golf 🤣 In my second year now and chasing that single digit handicap. Hopefully sooner than later lol great work Morikawa

Collin does a lot for the PGA and for golf. He definitely needs to be highly considered for the PIP if not win it. how he didn't place in it last year is beyond me. Tiger didn't even take a single swing and won it.

Imagine, walking into school, freshman year and having to carry your golf clubs. Not bad these days, but I did it in 92. Pre tiger. I was an absolute nerd golfer. But, years later, being a 1 handicap, I was the absolute man, simply because tiger made golf cool

He's obviously a good person. I've walked with some PAC-12 players this year in a couple tourneys and some are really obnoxious, entitled. He seems to be the opposite.

MY FIRST HOLE in ONE came after I CADDIED for my first time ever on the CANADIAN TOUR for BRAD FRITSCH... on the CAR hole the day after the tournament... I FLEW A 5 iron 205 down hill a bit over water and IT WENT STRAIGHT IN SLAM DUNK didn't even touch the LIP!... my second AND ONLY OTHER ACE was on the OLD CANADIAN OPEN COURSE.... I got a hole in one on a hole THAT PAYNE STEWART EAGLED, just before he DIED... thats my ACE story
