Bill O'Reilly told a story last week about going to his local deli on Long Island and ordering a container of chicken and rice soup. Cost $14.95. Told the guy he wasn't coming back. Outrageous how this WH is destroying the country.

How do you do so well at Savers? I took my daughter their this weekend looking for clothes and they wanted $18 for a Old Navy sweater. They ddon't even charge that much new. They wanted $8 for a Starbucks Coffee Mug that sells for $10 on Ebay. I do get some VCRs sometimes for $10 but other than that, their prices are ridiculous. Is yours not like that?
Mine is the prices you see me get. I have been to some others out of state and they are ridiculous like you say. This savers is priced to move stuff. I find stuff all the time for fair prices.

Mike, I know package rates vary due to distance, but on ebay they already have shipping rates posted. How do they determine that when they have no idea who's going to purchase the item, and where they live

It was very sentimental to me and I didn't want to sell it, but I thought if I could get $50 for it, I would let it go, but I was sure people would offer me $25 which I would NOT have taken. But $780? Yes, sir, you may have my little sentimental cast iron bank. Absolutely. I could just hear the person who gave it to me saying, "Gurrrllll, you'd better take that money!" 'Twas a very blessed day. I have my Daddy's cast iron skillet and he had it seasoned and had used it for probably 75 years. It was seasoned beautifully and there was a pan of freshly made cornbread on our stove practically my entire life. He took such good care of it. And my roof was leaking and it leaked into Daddy's skillet and ruined it....or so I thought. I'm getting it back to its glory, but I'll probably sell it too. I can barely lift it nowadays! I had about 6-7 of them at first, right after my parents died, but I saved this last one until the very end. Sooooo sad that it got unseasoned, but I've gotten all the rust out. And I know how to season it properly and it will sell. Martin Stove was founded in this area in Alabama and it's highly collectible here. But I would give it up plus a lot of money to have one more pan of cornbread from my Daddy...speaking of sentimental. Teddy Ruxpin came out in 1985.
We don’t have flea markets in my city, they are way outside of town, and it’s a long drive. We don’t have a Savers here too, the only one is in Austin and that’s a drive. We have 3 Goodwills, one is on the really nice wealthy part of town and they sell their DVDS and VHS for EBay prices… the others… one sells their VHS for a dollar and DVDs for $1.59. Some box sets are $3. I have two small thrift shops that I get most of my DVDs and vhs from and they have them for 10 cents.

I am also curious what Mike thinks about quantity to make it worthwhile, as I often have access to random books. There was some up front and subscription costs for hardware and scanning apps...

Watching this video I remembered I found a set of blown glass. Murano paperweights a few days ago. I don’t know if they will be as good as the kind with all the little decorations in them. But it was an apple and a pear, and the glass pattern just looked unique, so I decided to look them up. As far as I can tell, I’m going to be glad I did! Fun to see what you can find.
Mike- use the oinions green tops and save the little white bottoms with roots- stick the roots and about 1/2” of white part them in a flower pot of potting soil and give some sun and water- you’ll never have to buy green onions again! It is so close to effortless! You can surely do this since you’re in sunny California - enjoy 😊

A lot of those VHS sales are credit card fraud, market manipulation, and money laundering. Its been a problems for a long time. Same thing for giftcards that go for more than what they are worth.

I guess as a buyer outside of the USA it would be cheaper for you but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good program for sellers who want the access to buyers globally who don’t mind the extra charge for an item the really want. GSP provides many benefits and protections to sellers who would not otherwise offer shipping outside the US.

Yes, overseas is tricky. I only use global shipping from ebay and can not see what they charge.

Mike... When you list an item, you add shipping costs. How do you know how much shipping costs to add, a pkg, rates can vary depending on distance
It comes with experience. I just use a simple system of small, medium and large 0-15, 15-30 and 30-50. I do not do calculated shipping.

Some good suggestions have come in about replanting them. I want simplicity so I might try using a container and using the root.
