My 6 year old, in the theater said "this sucks" whilst watching "Annie" and turned around in her seat and literally went to sleep. This was at the halfway point in the film. I think right around when Cameron Diaz had her first or second solo singing performance. I laughed and cried at the same time. I couldn't leave because I paid for this crap so I had to stomach watching the rest whilst my daughter dreamt up a better movie.
My 6 year old cousin said she loved that movie and won't tolerate any Annie slander. I'm wondering what she saw in it considering the negative reviews it's gotten.
I was hoping she would like it. I only went to see it with her. I couldn't tell you what she saw in it. I mean she likes musicals as well, just not Annie. I don't like musicals at all so yeah.
Life is too short to stay in the cinema out of some misplaced sense of obligation or duty just because the movie cost you money - frankly if you'd left you might have been out of pocket but you could have taken your daughter somewhere fun & now you can never get that time back...

***** I don't think they really went in depth with the idea entirely, not well enough anyway. I think they simply made a movie out of the most commonly held notions about "transcending". The one thing I did find interesting was that they did propose a positive outcome from 'transcending", in that Depps character was using his abilities for the good of earth. It was by no means a masterpiece but I found it entertaining just the same.
Comon...you can't say watching a Transformers movie isn't fun. That's what people watch it for..cool cars/trucks, robots & action scenes. Nobody goes in expecting a solid script!

Could you maybe try and explain a little better exactly WHY the movies are terrible? For instance, I've also seen your video of What's Wrong With Horror Movies and heard you mention "Annabelle" three or four times, but I've never heard your argument why it's a terrible film. Here, you just listing titles and saying they're bad, but that seems a little shallow and easy, compared to your other work. :)

The first movie was a pretty fun action flick. But the second was absolute dogshit, the third was pretty meh, the fourth was bad, and so was the fifth. The first had better action and CGI than any of the others for some reason! As a whole, the franchise (not the rest of the Transformers media, just the movies) isn’t very good.
I actually really liked Annie. I didn't care for their version of I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here, and the changes to the lyrics in Little Girls weren't really necessary, but otherwise I thought it was good. Even Cameron Diaz wasn't nearly as bad as I expected her to be (although I wouldn't go so far as to say she was good).

2014 is the year that made Cameron Diaz quit the film business but she’s worth 140 million so I don’t think she minds. Not bad for a 23 year career where you spent the best years of your life as a globe trotting superstar.
I thought The Purge Anarchy was actually pretty good. It was alot better than the first one which felt more like people trapped in a house more than a "Purge" film and Frank Grillo did a great job in the film.
I watched Pompeii and it was so awful I stopped before that damn vulcano exploded I couldnt care less. Tammi was simply bad, MCarthy couldnt save it. Sex Tape was bad but I did laughed how stupid some scenes were and Diaz with her face expressions come on.
"Left Behind" was honestly the hardest I have laughed in years. I work at movie theater so I was able to get myself and a few friends in for free and I can't believe how absolutely terrible it was. We went in expecting one of the worst movies of all time, but nothing can prepare you for that.

Honestly, I loved Age of Extinction... It can't live up to the 1986 Film standards, but I thought it was great. You had the best villain from the film's, Lockdown and he made mincemeat out of the Autobots, much deadlier than Megatron. The action took a while to speed up, but then shit hit the fan. Story? Pathetic... J-Just pathetic. Oh, and there's no Shia LaBitch...

I actually thought Annabelle wasn't all that bad. It had its share of creepy, downright terrifying moments that held my interest. While it wasn't perfect and definitely not as good as The Conjuring, it was still a pretty decent horror film.

1: Lucy ( Not at all like I expected it was cool but not great at all)
2: Teenage mutant ninja turtles ( Micheal bay oh micheal bay you took a big dump on the turtles franchise)
3: Noah ( What the hell was going on through the directors mind this is nothing like the story in the bible)
4: If I stay ( Not a better love story than twilight not in the slightest)
5: Transformers 4 age of extinction ( Oh micheal bay you just crossed the line I hated the shit out of this movie)
Now last thing how I rate these movies

Hey Chris. Really digging your channel - especially after I saw your video essay of what's wrong with action movies these days. Could you maybe try and explain a little better exactly WHY the movies are terrible? For instance, I've also seen your video of What's Wrong With Horror Movies and heard you mention "Annabelle" three or four times, but I've never heard your argument why it's a terrible film. Here, you just listing titles and saying they're bad, but that seems a little shallow and easy, compared to your other work. :)

The first movie was a pretty fun action flick. But the second was absolute dogshit, the third was pretty meh, the fourth was bad, and so was the fifth. The first had better action and CGI than any of the others for some reason! As a whole, the franchise (not the rest of the Transformers media, just the movies) isn’t very good.

I actually really liked Annie. I didn't care for their version of I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here, and the changes to the lyrics in Little Girls weren't really necessary, but otherwise I thought it was good. Even Cameron Diaz wasn't nearly as bad as I expected her to be (although I wouldn't go so far as to say she was good).
Since I am in lockdown, I will now go back and check Chris’ review of every single of these movies!

I was expecting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on here, even though I kind of liked that film but hard to keep track of as well.
Transcendence was good. And Pompeii was fine. Nothing special about it. We all actually just wanted to see the destruction of Pompeii.

My streak of calling on how decent a film will be from the trailers is still intact I only saw one of his worst 10: The Other Woman. Although I was surprised Sabotage and TMNT was not in this list.
well, the other woman as a female empowerment movie makes sense if you consider that women aspire to be bad people.. that's their version of a superhero or something.. they think because the men they're attracted to are bad boys that they can just be bad women and that's somehow the same thing
It's funny how Ouija is on the list but he gave it a D+ and gave Pompeii and Purge: Anarchy a D- and they were just dishonorable mentions.
I remember seeing Snowpiercer and Boyhood in the span of 2 weeks and got the biggest feeling of... ''now what?'' after that. I thought I saw the best of 2014 but I was wrong! Seriously it was such an amazing year for movies!
the purge: anarchy was amazing. Not a masterpeace, clear, but very thrilling and with a good idea (I know, it's a sequel, but the idea is still amazing).
The atmoshere was claustrophobic although it was shoot in the streets.

2014 is the year that made Cameron Diaz quit the film business but she’s worth 140 million so I don’t think she minds. Not bad for a 23 year career where you spent the best years of your life as a globe trotting superstar.

I thought The Purge Anarchy was actually pretty good. It was alot better than the first one which felt more like people trapped in a house more than a "Purge" film and Frank Grillo did a great job in the film.

Tammi was simply bad, MCarthy couldnt save it.
Sex Tape was bad but I did laughed how stupid some scenes were and Diaz with her face expressions come on.

"Left Behind" was honestly the hardest I have laughed in years. I work at movie theater so I was able to get myself and a few friends in for free and I can't believe how absolutely terrible it was. We went in expecting one of the worst movies of all time, but nothing can prepare you for that.
I have seen NONE of these bad movies thanks to you Chris. You're the real MVP.

God's Not Dead had a terrible script but I'd at least put it in the "so bad it's good" category. Plus Kevin Sorbo actually gave a good performance and it was technically well executed. Just a horrid horrid script.

Honestly, I loved Age of Extinction... It can't live up to the 1986 Film standards, but I thought it was great. You had the best villain from the film's, Lockdown and he made mincemeat out of the Autobots, much deadlier than Megatron. The action took a while to speed up, but then shit hit the fan. Story? Pathetic... J-Just pathetic.

I actually thought Annabelle wasn't all that bad. It had its share of creepy, downright terrifying moments that held my interest. While it wasn't perfect and definitely not as good as The Conjuring, it was still a pretty decent horror film.
