I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I legit was just looking this up lastnight for my helix unit I got for my birthday in dec. I used it ice fishing all winter and now getting ready to use it for open water! Suppose to be in the 60s here in southern Minnasota on Monday, I’m pulling the yak out for the first time this season. I’m super pumped! Great video Matt as always!! 💪🏽🤙🏽

growing up my folks had a house on Eufaula i have some huge crappie and pretty decent bass growing up from cheneyhatchee to thomas mill creek. i never got to fish much further up river/lake. i live in Michigan now but my folks are still in southern bama thats where my heart will always be. i just got a hds 7 for my kayak though

Just got a C-Map Chip for the north region and begiining setup..... I noticed blue line on your map........ Is that some sort of setting as I would prefernot have it..........

I just got two carbons and was watching your video because I think the chart shading will be a big plater. I feel like I’ve done everything correctly and it turns my whole map red. My buddy did it and his is working perfectly and we went over all of the settings and mine seems to be set exactly the same as he is. Do you have any suggestion on what I might be doing wrong?

So it will not change colors with a navionics chip?
Navionics may have color options but I do not believe you can do what the CMAP chip allows for changing color
Matt is this only available on the Live units ? Or with the better C map ? I run Elite TI2 units and I don’t think this is available in there but I’ll look again.

@@letun3481 which Navionics card are you running? If you have the Platinum Plus card, they offer relief shading overlay which is very similar and helpful.
When I set up the HDS at the trolling motor, the contour coloring doesn’t work like the one at the console. They are exactly the same units. The one at the trolling motor turns everything red. All depths. Any ideas? I have them set up the same way. Does it need a chip? Thanks for any help.
