@@brendosmile2690 Oh thats cool! I only really know about Dwarfs from the Gortrek & Felix novels and if I remember correctly the only Dwarf slaves in those books are those on the Black Ark. With how stubborn the dwarfs are depicted it always seemed almost impossible to enslave them. But then again Skarsnik is pretty badass =D Im really curious how they even manage that since they have the Slayer cult and rather die than shame themselves or their clan.
Powerful narcotics might be used to make the dwarfs more compliment. It's not just they have dwarf slaves, but they have the armourers, weaponsmiths and engineers enslaved and still doing their old jobs. To keep the operation sustainable, they would need a way of breeding the dwarfs and having them train to become proficient in their craft.
I do have the "uniforms and heraldry of the skaven" book somewhere lots of clans in there.. One I remember is clan Gangrous. They chop off their own claws and replace them with blades...
I think something really cool could be done with Clan Sleekit: imagine a mechanic like the World Tree, but they could go to the capitals of various Skaven Clans. Their power wouldn't be in conquering or confederating so much as opening up trade & transport routes to create a true Under-Empire. The more Clans you link, the more power you have, as you would be responsible for coordinating & facilitating the endgame Vermintide. Under-cities would thus be much more important than they are in other Skaven Clans, as they would be your primary means of income & influence. Of course, you'd have your own stuff to deal with: you'd likely have to fight other Underway travellers like Orcs, Dwarves, & Wood Elves, & may need to defend your under-empire against other threats - nameless things gnawing at the deep places of the earth, that sort of thing. As for units, I'd imagine they'd be very stealthy hit-and-run types, maybe using undermining to rock the battlefield, Menace from Below bringing things worse than Skaven slaves, faster withdrawals (maybe even underground rather than off the map borders?) that sort of thing.
Clan spittel is my favorite minor skaven clan. They live in lustria and wear lizardman skin as armor. They didn’t really have much beyond that but I think they would be cool to expand upon.
Clan Skurvy could have a mix of mechanic between vampire coast and skaven mechanics to make them unique and interesting to play, and for Clan Ferrik faction mechanics could increase armor and melee attack and melee defense to units Factionwide, or borrow Clan Skryre's faction mechanic to upgrade weapon teams and war machines or do something similar to greenskins scrap mechanic.
I want Skretch Half-Dead as a DLC/FLC for the Vampire Coast. It would be cool if he could recruit a couple of unique units, maybe zombie Skaven pirates (pi-rats? Get it?) with dual weapons and with hand weapons and pistols. While we're on it, give Cylostra the ability to actually recruit Damned Knights Errant as a unit and not just a summon.
I'd probably still prefer mainly a Skaven roster but I do agree that seeing more "hybrid" Legendary Lords would be cool, on top of the variety that allied recruitment already brings.
I wonder if there are Skaven Clans who don't worship the great rat, but maybe one of the four main chaos gods instead or a mix between the horned rat and main chaos influence.
While this may at some point have been disproven, it is believed by some both in universe and from fans that some members of Clan Pestilence are secretly involved with Nurgle.
Besides clan pestilence who gets away with it on a loop hole, most skaven only worship the horned rat. Not because they want to, but because if they don't, he'll chew on their souls for eternity. Don't know if its canon or not, but once heard someone say that if given protection from the horned rat, almost any skaven would turn their back on him
If a choice has to be made then i would choose Ferrik. Dwarf flavored skaven sound dope as hell. They should get slightly unique versions of nearly all units sort of like Draicha. But i guess if any clan will be added it might be Mordkin, but with Tranquill as the leader for the endtime dlcs, thats what i think will happen even if i wish we would get Ferrik.

the real question is when are the mods for some of these factions returning to WH3? Some of my favorite mods for WH2 were the Skurvy, Volkin, and Ferick mods
Honestly, Clans Skurvy, Mortkin, Ferrik, and Volkn could all probably have been given at least the same level of love as Mors and Rictus, if not given their own supplimentary lists like the old Pestilens and Eshin lists for example. Like think about it, Skurvy could have had Ship-Rats and Bilge-Vermin instead of Clanrats and Stormvermin, Mortkin could have had units with better morale that gave their enemies morale penalties, Ferrik could have had the beginning of a Skaven Airforce supported by Gromril armored infantry that used stolen Irondrake weapons, and Volkn could have gone all in on the fire and obsidian aspect perhaps even having access to the lore of flame or special weapons for clanrats like obsidian tipped javelins. Ferrik most of all though had the potential to become a Clan Skryre rival in the mad scientist department while rivaling Mors and Rictus in the infantry department. Mixing Dwarf and Skaven tech together just sounds really, really cool.
I love clan mordkin one of my all time fav lesser clans. There story in the black plague trilogy was really cool and with the fact they eat only rotten flesh. The fact they stood to nagash is super cool tho in the end they get wiped out while Manfred and others are looking for nagash's weapons to revive him. There battle with the necromancer Van hel was a super fun read.
Hey Nathan, I was going to leave this comment on your Snakemen video, but SOMEONE decided to raid that video, so here it is instead. I know that Naga were canonically chaos aligned, but the thing that worries me about that is that there are places in south east asia where Naga are worshipped as demi-gods and conduits to the divine and the like. I do think it would be wiser to have the Naga as a mix aligned race, but If GW does decide to stick to canon, I hope they will at least add some kind of WH equivalent to the Trang sisters to revolt against the Naga, that way at least the Vietnamese players will be able to get on board,
Raid the video? Was it getting boy spammed?? Also regarding the Naga I could see them as having hints of Chaos but striving out to do their own thing tbh
@@TheGreatBookofGrudges Huh, never mind, I checked the comments section just now and it's fine, must have been something weird with my browser. Yeah, I think it makes sense that some of them fall to chaos, just maybe not wholly chaos aligned.

Would love to see who would win Nathan Vs. Arch, and see who's ratman raine supreme, table top preference but doubt Nathan would travel to Norway so total war Warhammer would be still awesome
Clan Volkn and Ferrik were done very well in warhammer 2 I did a Volkn run where i sold my services to the dwarves during the end times and helped save the world, sowing my under empire in every city before it was repopulated by mortals
If they add sea combat like total war shogun, they SHOULD add clan scurvy and give them a rival faction for their DLC. Like Clan Skryer and Cult of Sotek.
I wonder if it is possible to youse skaven clans in 40k as chaos cults or traitor guard because i want to build more chaos cults and traitor guard armies and the skaven clans have the best colors and lore to make chaos cults or traitor guard armies
I have 2 qeustions. 1. Where is every skaven faction located Every skaven clan we know of 2. What factions live around mortis tarn (because im writing a purple skaven clan based at that location named clan mortnox an the rumor is that nagash left there some warpstone in history so i wanna know as much you can tell me about that location for fluf reasons )
6:23 skaven are based on rats and rats can and do survive in all kinds of environments.... they’re extremely adept at swimming, diving, and holding their breath..... so it makes sense they have strong water fleet.. ...what I’m also curious about is why they don’t more regularly flood dwarf fortresses and just dive into the ruins and steal stuff... literally crawling out of their toilets,
Personally, while I know it won't happen, I would love to see more of the Verity brought into WH3. I would love a DLC which added many of these factions, especially Vulkin, Mordkin, and Ferrik. I personally love Skaven, while I understand that many don't I think that this could also be done with lots of other places as well, for example, the Empire most obviously (and to show that I'm not leaning in on Bias, the Empire is my personal least favorite faction, I think I've only ever played one Gelt campaign and that was it.) I think being able to take a faction, even if it's mostly reskins, and balance it a little different would make for a lot of fun. For instance, for Clan Ferrik you might have a Faction bonus called "Dwarven Forges" which gives better Weapon Damage and Armor to all units which have weapons and armor, and another called "Gromrill Plates" which gives even more armor to Storm Vermin really leading you towards that melee mash. Another thing I would love to see, not just in Skaven but in all races and many factions, is Faction specific units. They would be Campaign specific units that don't make sense for the race as a whole, but add diversity to the specific faction. For instance clan Mors would get Red Guard as a unit class above normal storm vermin, there would likely be a cap on this such as only certain landmark provide a certain number of units of red guard (for instance at the clan mors base of operation, and another at Eight Peaks). Meanwhile Rictus would have Death Vermin, either as a replacement for Storm Vermin, or again as a unique grade above normal storm vermin locked to specific landmarks. This Idea actually comes from what little I played of (I think) SFO in WH2 where I played a Vlad campaign and he had a unique unit tied to a landmark at Drakenhoff, he could only have a couple of them but they were cool and made his army feel unique. not every faction needs to have these units, but I know that there are lots of races where certain factions had access to things or special units that others of there race may not have had access too. for instance you and Sotek often talk about the Culchin riders who are basically skinks riding Terror Birds, but to my knowledge they were really only from southern lustria (I think) so perhaps they have special landmarks in the south of lustria which when held by the lizardmen allow the recruitment of a number of these unique units. It's just an Idea, but I would love to see micro diversity, I don't think every faction needs to have everything for it's race, and in fact, I think that in some cases limiting the roster, or adding a little flair in a certain direction would do a lot of good. Not to mention that many of these things would be very small adds and could be done en masse when updating races. For instance maybe Settra has a special group of honor guard tomb guard who follow him around into battle that make no sense for another tomb kings faction to have, so at khemri he can recruit them from his unique landmark, or in the empire perhaps it doesn't make sense for the empire to have a Jezail type unit outside of Nuln and maybe only a couple, so when the Empire occupies Nuln they can recruit a special gunpouder unit from Nuln specifically, or in south Lustria there are Culchin Fields landmarks where you can recruit culchins for as the Lizardmen. It's just an Idea, but I would love to see it implemented, I think it would add so much replay value, and really differentiate the factions.
I personally love clan vrrtkin , there a clan skrye aligned clan that love poison wind and gas. there was a great mod for them in warhammer 2 but it sadly has not been ported to 3
Kinda enjoy the minor skaven clans more than major ones sometimes, kinda wish that mod in TWW2 that added 3 of them would show in game 3 already. Sad part about Skaven is the same as Greenskins in that they're so varied and adaptable that they can field uniquely themed armies on their own as subfactions but would be too much content for them vs other races in the end.
We have 3 kinds of elves, 5 flavours of chaos, 2 kinds of dwarves, 2 kinds of vampires, and 5 humans. Greenskins and Skaven really could have been split into at least 2-3 factions. Well... I guess technically beastmen/Skaven are already a split faction. But Goblins and Orcs could easily have been seperate factions (with an army in each that uses troops from the other kind of greenskin).
Are their mods for each of these races 😂 it would be cool for a good mod for each. Andddd clan Volcn will always have a place as my favorite skaven race
7:50 just put ratling gun on a gyrocopter, fuck, put TWO ratling gun on them. You know what, take the gyrobomer, give it two ratlinggun on the side and a warpthrower on the front (and maybeadd a few ratling gun just to be sure)
With your knowledge of the lore you should work together with modders to bring factions like these skaven clans to live in wh3 please. You could make so many minor factions more unique to play. I dont want to wait for years to get official updates if Modders are far more capable of doing this than the official development team.

the real question is when are the mods for some of these factions returning to WH3? Some of my favorite mods for WH2 were the Skurvy, Volkin, and Ferick mods
this is so cool. i love seeing more ways that factions can be potrayed
Clan skrittlespike is my favourite!
Hope those warhammer 2 mods that bring most of the clan talk about here come to warhammer 3
Always love when a new skaven video comes our
There are mods for clan volkn, clan skurvy, clan ferrik in steam workshop. They have unique rosters and monsters. Ferrik even has a rat tank, skurvy has ratcopter.
man i love the navy pirate clan :D
Would love to see who would win Nathan Vs. Arch, and see who's ratman raine supreme, table top preference but doubt Nathan would travel to Norway so total war Warhammer would be still awesome
Clan Volkn and Ferrik were done very well in warhammer 2
I did a Volkn run where i sold my services to the dwarves during the end times and helped save the world, sowing my under empire in every city before it was repopulated by mortals
Amazing video! I love this lore focus on a spesific factions :)
Uu i knew about clan volkin very coool. Not shure how get obsydian efect on blades after aply black
When FatShark does Vermintide 3 they should put some Enemies from these clans in as like mercenaries hired by whatever Clan we face.
I have 2 qeustions.
1. Where is every skaven faction located Every skaven clan we know of
2. What factions live around mortis tarn (because im writing a purple skaven clan based at that location named clan mortnox an the rumor is that nagash left there some warpstone in history
so i wanna know as much you can tell me about that location for fluf reasons )
I personally love clan vrrtkin , there a clan skrye aligned clan that love poison wind and gas. there was a great mod for them in warhammer 2 but it sadly has not been ported to 3
Advisor, "clan Verm comes at you in tides my lord".
Warriors of chaos with 5 different flavors of each unit says otherwise.
My favorite is the vulcanink one
I hope that we get these skaven clans will become mods in warhammer 3 ( and yes a know that clan skurvy, volkn, ferik are mods in warhammer 2
Are you ever going to show off your Warhammer miniatures collection?
One day
@@TheGreatBookofGrudges I’ll just soak in these lovely videos in the meantime anticipating that future video!
I think i will now paint one clan as mordkin ;]
I feel that the modders are going to be fleshing these guys out for WH3. There are so many already.
Clan Verms would be ideal for Huskk Gnawbone.
Clan ferrik is also greate more like lore wize. Not shure if able to paint them. Probly need separet models or 3rd party for that armor
I wish orks klans were as diverse.
They say in the lore that there are more ork kultures but you never hear of these smaller kultures.
What I think?
I think, your videos are awesome, always has been.
Skaven are my favourite whfb race
Im hoping soo much that someone ports the clan ferrik and clan volkn mods from warhammer 2 to warhammer 3
Yes ... yes ... yes ... wanthem all in TW-WHIII
Hope they add alot of these to warhammer 3
Wow this was super interesting
always loved mordkin, they are basically goth skaven
Are their mods for each of these races 😂 it would be cool for a good mod for each. Andddd clan Volcn will always have a place as my favorite skaven race
WH2 has most of them as mods. Not sure if they've been ported over to 3 yet.
Moreee skaven content!
Clan verms mod is out :3
Too bad we never get to see the full Clan Skurvy experience as Creative Assembly is adamant in avoiding naval combat like the plague
Finally, after 2 years or less someone other than me has finally gave a shit about the skaven
Does anyone remember the clan fleets from man 'o' war? They were good.
How many Skaven Clans Exist?
it would be fun to make a giant doom army with all the customized skaven clans you know the kind of army that takes 30 years to build
7:50 just put ratling gun on a gyrocopter, fuck, put TWO ratling gun on them.
You know what, take the gyrobomer, give it two ratlinggun on the side and a warpthrower on the front (and maybeadd a few ratling gun just to be sure)
Imagine a mandalorian skaven clan
skaven are the most fun race, or at least rival orks. Change my mind.
Volkn are hot stuff.
With your knowledge of the lore you should work together with modders to bring factions like these skaven clans to live in wh3 please. You could make so many minor factions more unique to play. I dont want to wait for years to get official updates if Modders are far more capable of doing this than the official development team.
Modders often msg me for info I'm happy to help them :)
Skaven yes-yes
How many of these have Total War mods? I’ve seen a few of them in the workshop.
Clan Skurvy, Clan Ferrik and Clan Volkn, all are only in WH2. Clan Verms is being worked on by Stratovarius and his Crew or so i heard
I hope GW updates its Skaven models soon, because plenty of them look outdated, I think
I see 5 DLC’s here
Okay I love this but the fact you leave out Mors in the major catagory is absolutely INSANE. Queek is in charge one of the actual few Skaven clans that HAS LOYALTY in their warlords, grey seers and so fourth. I'm really sad about this :(
