No flashy costumes, cars, cash, lights, etc. no overproduced, computer created sounds. Just pure, undeniable talent. Something modern music lacks entirely.
That would be soooo true if this wasn't today's music...or atleast only a decade or so ago 🤷♂️ Also, Alison Krauss is so modest & unassuming that sadly her great talents are too often overlooked 😞
I’m not even a huge country fan but holy crap, what can you say. Allison Krause and Union Station are absolutely incredible. Sublimely beautiful song, sang and played with heart and soul and exquisite musicianship.
There is no substitute for pure talent....musicians at the top of their game....and Alison...voice of an angel....and looks that are on par with any Hollywood movie star.
This woman has one of the purist voices I’ve ever heard. Alison Krauss and Union Station are definitely my favourite Bluegrass and country music groups I listen to.
I’ve seen them twice and her voice brings tears to the entire audience, it consumes and overwhelms even the emotionless. They are by far and away the most talented group anywhere in any genre.
The most amazing band of all time. Can we just give some appreciation to the incredible talents of Jerry Douglas? How does he play that slide instrument and still harmonize beautifully? And Allison. All of them! Thank you for bringing heaven to earth.
On days when there are no Dr. appointments, no 7 + loads of clothes (for 2 adults only) no work, no stress, pets are fed, watered,( fresh cold spring water) meds given to my diabetic cat, no bills to pay, bookkeeping or ordering in shop, and finally, a chance to turn volume down on cell and grab my Mac-Air laptop, set of ear buds and just relax and escape life for a while and listen to Allison Krauss and her talented, harmonizing, professional band, Union Station singing both their greatest hits, and little known/unknown songs as EVERY song they sing and play is just as heavenly as the last......I'm hoping her music is actually played in that glorious place called Heaven.....
Just breathtaking. And not just Alison's vocal performance but also that of the band as a whole. With so many acoustic instruments occupying the same basic frequencies, it's very easy for the individual parts to merge and become indistinguishable. But the Union Station make space for each other and create such beautifully arranged parts that you hear EVERYTHING they're playing - and they complement each others' parts so perfectly. Every guitar player, whether a neophyte or an old hand, should pay careful attention to this performance and how its constructed. It's so easy to forget how to play in a band when you're a gitslinger - but these guys never forget. Stellar.
This video shows that if you have real talent you don't need light shows, big amps and special effects. This is just pure raw talent from the combinaton of instruments and the vocal. A true lost art in the entertainment industry.
Alison Krauss is so beautiful and never seems to age ... in fact she seems to get younger the older she gets, and the Band "Union Station" ... they are so perfectly balanced and tight, and when you combine the talent and beauty of Alison Krauss and Union Station... well ... only one thing can happen and that is ... just the BEST music your going to hear ... ever! 👍👍😎
That's country music coming straight from the heart. My Lady, you know how to open the hearts. And you are shining with the great Union Station. PLEASE: Keep on running, my Lady. May God bless. Chuck - the country boy - Houston
also i just listened to the studio version of this and you can hardly tell the difference, these guys are a one take band.... no engineer producer needed, perfection already obtained. Such a tight band mixed with Alison's voice is something to behold!
Reading the comment above you, I received insight into the sad lives of modern and starving musicians. We should coin a new term for people who attempt to discredit talent! We shall call them "idiots". I'd love to see someone accuse Alison of "miming" at one of her venues. She'd respond with something much more intellectual than what I could replicate.
I always thought that Emmylou's Hot Band might have been the greatest collection of musicians, or JD Crowe, but these guys are...just amazing. Wonderful.
I’m the lucky one having the privilege listening to your voice and music. Thank you for extending the ability to be in your presence. I feel truly blessed.
I have listened to this song sung by Alison Krauss many times now and I would love to see her live! As so many have said already! There is no pyrotechnics, it’s just a singer and her band with their instruments.
A beautiful performance. A song with strong lyrics, great musicianship and heartfelt singing. I find a melancholy edge can really lift a song, as it does here. There is also some very light humour here in the lyrics as well. A perfect song.
indeed that mrs krauss is one the female country music perfomers with a giant talent first of all nice unic voice , ear more that 100%, rhythm 100%, beauty one flower y pray to our god infinite health for this extraordinary country music perfomer!!!!!!
I love rock & roll, R&B, blues, reggae and this is great also.. Just listening to one kind of music to me would be like eating the same meal over and over every day.. Who does that? Only someone who has no other options..
As musicians they are absolutely superb yet so sublime. And Alison’s voice is the best, she’s a song bird and a musical instrument. I’ve listen to them constantly at various points in my life on my stereo. They are in a class of one, the best
Pure... best word to describe Ms. Krauss’s work... her tone, her music, her dedication, her place in the iconography... be forever blessed as each of us has been
I have often thought of Alison as a rather quiet, maybe even passive individual, because she never blows her horn and has always remained humble. In truth Alison Krauss is one of the most powerful women in show business. She could sing the phone book and make it sound great. She could play fiddle tunes with any band or violin with any orchestra.
Amazing performance by Union Station & Alison Krauss of a wonderful song. Alison has an incredible, dreamy voice and Jerry Douglas plays a great dobro!
@Alison Krauss lncidentally, l was present (third row) at Massey Hall in Toronto on the occasion when the entire theatre lights began to dim and kept on dimming until the place was almost completely dark. I bet you recall that incident. You later informed the crowd that a backstage hand had unknowingly been leaning on a light switch? Unusual but kinda cool at the same time.
There is something just magical about when this group gets together. I hate that we have to keep hoping that tragedy keeps striking at them to inspire these kinds of songs that we all crave.
She reminds me of sade..... You got Kentucky bluegrass on one side and you got the Caribbean Queen Sade. They're a lot of like no fancy tattoos, no BS, just pure music. Alison krauss has one of the purest voices I've ever heard. It's a combination of Dolly Parton and Leanne Womack somewhere in there, but her soprano range goes even higher. Mind boggling, isn't it?...... Rounder records
I thoroughly enjoy this particular song; the arrangement is so richly woven with sound that there are no "sonic gaps" in it; if it were a color, the entire spectrum would be present. It's always a pleasure to experience it in every dimension!
@Alison Krauss ....I live in Bingham Maine....in due time the entire world 🌎 will know my name....rather big EVENT upcoming in U.S. and World history.....POSITIVE EVENT The music is all around us, all you have to do is LISTEN 🎶 CHEERS ✌
So smooth and BEAUTIFUL on EVERY side.... Alison's BEAUTIFUL VOICE.....Talent BEYOND WORDS and Performed with Humility and Heart from Alison AND The Band!!! So many others with not even HALF the Talent with ARROGANCE that they DON'T EVEN DESERVE to Possess.....even among Local Musicians/Singers WITHOUT a name and Nashville Contract. Here's SUPER GOD-GIFTED TALENT with Kind and Humble Hearts.....just LOVING the Music..... Playing it SUPERBLY and PLEASING us Humbly!!! It DOESN'T get any BETTER than that!! GOD BLESS THEM "BIGGG"!!!!!!!!
"ALISON".....IS THIS REALLY "YOU" ANSWERING "ME"?? Alison, I HAVE to tell you this TRUE story!! It was on a Sunday......late afternoon/near evening. I'm on a Highway. I have KVOO Radio Station out of Tulsa Oklahoma playing a Bluegrass Hour. Your song "Teardrops Will Kiss The Morning Dew" from your album "Two Highways" came on. Alison...... TEARS FLOWED FASTER FROM MY EYES THAN I COULD WIPE THEM AWAY!!! "NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD I HEARD SUCH A "BEAUTIFUL" VOICE......HEART-MELTING VOICE!!" My driving became DANGEROUS because I couldn't see for the tears. THANK GOD Nobody was with me and nobody else on the Highway that day. It was Scary!! I ordered your "Two Highways" album that next day. THEN find out that on THAT album......"You're Just a WEE kid......a Teenager!!" My My, Alison!! I've been your HUGE fan EVER SINCE!! I "DO" Love and Support You and BRAG about you ANYTIME I'm with someone and we're listening to you, Jerry, and Union Station. I tell that story to no telling how many. I repeat myself over and over. (But then, again, Alison...... that's what old people do!! 😂 😂!!!) Thanks again for answering, Alison. God Bless You and Yours, kiddo! (You're older now, but STILL a KID to me!!)
I'm your Fan for life. Alison Krauss, young lady, you just made my day and gave this 68yr old man more "Bragging Rights" when I show off you answering me yourself!! (Old Men "LOVE" to Brag, little one!! 😂 😂) Take Care and do me a huge favor, please......tell Jerry Douglas I never really disliked the Dobro, but I just didn't think that much of the instrument UNTIL I heard HIM play it!! My!! It was with Chet Atkins, Bela Fleck and maybe one more that I don't remember..... playing "Alabama Jubilee". I IMMEDIATELY became HIS fan and a fan of the Dobro instrument itself. I just had to hear someone like Jerry to play it like HE does!! Please tell him hello for me!! I won't bug y'all anymore!! Take Care and God Bless Y'all!!!
@Alison Krauss I can't find where your email is located on your page. I'm 68 is the problem. Don't know too much about phones and computers. I asked one niece who attempted to help me find it. I'll keep trying. I think I'll look for a Younger kid to help. They learned this stuff Young. They amaze me. 6-8yr olds can solve your phone/computer problem in a finger snap. I don't know what all we'd talk about. But I suppose I could just say Hello once in awhile to you and the band. I know you're busy. My Sister, 2 of my nieces and a nephew (My sister's kids) were astonished, like me, that "YOU" answered "Me". Most folks say, "Small World". That's the common famous saying. But "I" say......"No.....not small world......."BIG" GOD!!"
@Alison Krauss I gotta find me a kid to help me find where to email you. You told me, but I can't find it. 68yrs old and computer/phone dumb as a brick. A kid will help me. They learn this stuff Young.
I absolute adore this young woman... listen to that sweetness..control of that voice... God Bless HER. .She had some health issues. May all be well.... she's all around a wonderful person...I just know it.
Dear Alison, ever since I heard your beautiful voice, I'm a fan...you're very talented/musically enclined...I hope you will continue delivering us your beautiful songs... Thanks!!! Love You!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️Love from Mick in the Netherlands❤️❤️❤️
+John Gardner Amen to that. Just saw and met her Monday night 11/16 in Nashville. You dang right this band has earned it. I saw her the first time at a bluegrass festival in Va, and I can assure people that the road for them wasnt easy. Anybody ever been to Nashville and took a look at some of the "dives" these bands have to play in during their "early years"? Good places but, dives . All the places mostly up and down Broadway, the artist only play for tips. Lol, try to survive on that. Oh yeah, they have earned it!!!! Thanks for your comment John!!! Just backing you up a little, lol
+Thomas Porter Jr. and to John Gardner. About 30 years ago, (or so), I missed a chance to see her performing at a small college theater here in the Detroit suburbs. She was a solo act then, she and Union Station were not together. I was working too much and like a lot of performers, I didn't know who she was. I am sure because of the venue I would have had the chance to actually talk to her. My mistake. Missed one time with Charlie Daniels too. I did meet Elvis at 10 at his home, but I was just a kid. I couldn't understand why my Mom was so star struck. To me as a kid, he seemed like one of the saddest men I had ever met.
Wow, Well, all i can is, meeting her was one of the best things in my life. She is such a nice person and the kindness actually radiates from her. She is a caring person and the one of the most humble people ive ever met. You ever get the chance to meet her, do it!!! No matter what the tickets cost!!! Just my opinion.
No flashy costumes, cars, cash, lights, etc. no overproduced, computer created sounds. Just pure, undeniable talent. Something modern music lacks entirely.
Rings really true these days too!!!
Totally ❤ can we go back please? 😢
Beautiful in every way!
That would be soooo true if this wasn't today's music...or atleast only a decade or so ago 🤷♂️ Also, Alison Krauss is so modest & unassuming that sadly her great talents are too often overlooked 😞
🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢💐💐💐💐🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you're watching this you're looking at an angel
I’m not even a huge country fan but holy crap, what can you say. Allison Krause and Union Station are absolutely incredible. Sublimely beautiful song, sang and played with heart and soul and exquisite musicianship.
It is not country it is BLUE GRASS Folk Music
❤
This is bluegrass music at its finest. :)
That absolute best singing voice backed by the the best musicians at the top of their profession. Unbelievable talent!
Perfection personified!
There is no substitute for pure talent....musicians at the top of their game....and Alison...voice of an angel....and looks that are on par with any Hollywood movie star.
The Lady who teaches Angels how to sing.
well said :)
Couldn’t have said it better
indeed :)
You got it Spot on
You are right😇🥰
This woman has one of the purist voices I’ve ever heard. Alison Krauss and Union Station are definitely my favourite Bluegrass and country music groups I listen to.
An angel
The most angelic, harmonious voice I have ever heard, Alison is such a beautiful, classy and gifted woman.
This is most likely the greatest group of pure musical ability to ever grace a stage.
This is a beautiful song !!! And that beautiful voice of Alison Krauss sends shivers down my spine. Keep singing to us baby. We love you....
🍓❤🍓❤🍓❤😊
💫
verry nice
Seen her some time ago in Berlin Germany. Best concert ever seen and heard.
Juergen
Very beautiful voice ,
😢

Living life as best you can & great music is a benefit in living your life. Yes Mam.
I could listen to her for eternity. Most beautiful voice in country music.
Timelessness
She’s a bluegrass singer but country will do also.
The most BEAUTIFUL voice in the world.
Rated as one of the best ever live performances by any band on planet earth, perfection personified.
Beautiful singer/beautiful woman. Flawless band.
considered an ugly duckling as a child
look at what an amazingly beautiful swan in full flight !
Just never felt these guys and especially Allison gets the credit they deserve. Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful lady.... A warm comfort song, played with ruthless professional musicians.... Thank you..... All*
Probably the best singer in the world.
I love how tight the band is. These guys together make a damn best sound.
Imagine opening your mouth, and having beautiful music effortlessly come out of it. Alison doesn't have to imagine that.
Nothing good is ever effortless. She works hard and constantly to be able to sing like that.
My favorite female singer. Not a huge country or bluegrass fan, but her voice is simply amazing and her band is incredible.
I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS HAS NOT MORE HITS ON YOU TUBE , ALISON IS A CLASS SINGER
At this very minute. It’s 10:48 pm on April 20, 2024, the eve of my 86th birthday 🎉 whoda thunk I’d still be here, your welcome 🤗
Congratulations your special birthday 🎉🎉🎉.
Happy Birthday 🎉🥳🎊🎂✨
Can I come to your 87th?!…if I’m still here.
Gefeliciteerd from the Netherlands
Congratulations. The song title is yours.
She is absolutely perfect!
This woman could absolutely sing the phone book and make me cry with her beautiful voice!
Just breathtaking. And not just Alison's vocal performance but also that of the band as a whole. She has such a beautiful voice. I love to listen to Alison Krauss especially when she teams up with Union Station.
A bit huffy in person, howsoever...
AK's voice transcends musical genres. She is perfection in music.
Alison Krauss is so beautiful and never seems to age ... in fact she seems to get younger the older she gets, and the Band "Union Station" ... they are so perfectly balanced and tight, and when you combine the talent and beauty of Alison Krauss and Union Station... well ... only one thing can happen and that is ... just the BEST music your going to hear ... ever! 👍👍😎
She is the greatest. So real. We love her
Simple but beautiful music. Powerful lyrics and harmony. Alison is simply one of the best singers.
That's country music coming straight from the heart. My Lady, you know how to open the hearts. And you are shining with the great Union Station. PLEASE: Keep on running, my Lady. May God bless. Chuck - the country boy - Houston
I could listen to her and the band for ever. So so good!
Que bonita mujer y su voz melodiosa ,Dios hace cosas maravillosas que los seres humanos debemos agradecer
An absolutely velvet smooth voice. Not a huge fan of country music, but she is just phenomenal!
Sean Rumney I stand corrected!
I read that as cocteautwinnedbluegrass which is why I upticked it...serendipity rools ;-)
Dude this aint country. It is bluegrass.
My late fathers FAVORITE song , he was a woman chaser and gambler and a very smart man , the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
also i just listened to the studio version of this and you can hardly tell the difference, these guys are a one take band.... no engineer producer needed, perfection already obtained. Such a tight band mixed with Alison's voice is something to behold!
You said it!
You are absolutely right. No diff between studio and live. Just a beautiful sound.
I always thought that Emmylou's Hot Band might have been the greatest collection of musicians, or JD Crowe, but these guys are...just amazing. Wonderful.
Charlie Davis, you gave me an idea. Here's a new twist on an old expression. Old: one hit wonders! New: one take wonders!
Music from heaven.. The voice of an angel. This is what I imagine..
This is one of those songs you wish never ended. Bravo!
You sing like an angel Allison, and the boys are superb musicians every one.
100% agree with you.
Can't say it any better I 100% agree as well.
Listen to Barry keeping everybody straight with that bass. Cool Beans.!
A beautiful performance. A song with strong lyrics, great musicianship and heartfelt singing. I find a melancholy edge can really lift a song, as it does here. There is also some very light humour here in the lyrics as well. A perfect song.
The voice of an angel!
exactly! i hear alison sing, i get transported to heaven. she plays the fiddle, the band plays their instruments, it's a heavenly chorus
It truly is.
indeed that mrs krauss is one the female country music perfomers with a giant talent first of all nice unic voice , ear more that 100%, rhythm 100%, beauty one flower y pray to our god infinite health for this extraordinary country music perfomer!!!!!!
A talented musical artist in the truest form.
@Alison Krauss ❤
Beautiful
One of the few artist that sounds great in live or in studio
So much talent all-in-one place
Alison krauss has the best female voice on the planet!
Pure... best word to describe Ms. Krauss’s work... her tone, her music, her dedication, her place in the iconography... be forever blessed as each of us has been
Awesome. Lady
If your music taste is sweet and sincere,in a country way, AK is for you. I've loved her for years.
Have you ever heard an angel sing ? You have now ! These guy`s are great !
God she is incredible.
Blessings always Alison, for with he before you, who could ever stand against you.
She is such a beautiful girl too. She was rather homely as a teen, then grew into a beautiful swan, and her angelic voice just adds to it all.
Absolutely great! They all sound so good together.
Her voice and is a treasure.
SHE (and the band) is an international treasure !
OMG!! the only thing more beautiful than this woman is her voice.
Smooth as butter and a baby’s head!! Such a perfect group of talent!!!! ❤️
Amazing performance by Union Station & Alison Krauss of a wonderful song. Alison has an incredible, dreamy voice and Jerry Douglas plays a great dobro!
I'm a Lucky One. I have seen AKUS in concert. Worth the time and the trip!
@Alison Krauss Since you came out with the song "Steel Rails". 👍
The song of a Narcissist. Always the lucky one. She sings so pure and true. What a talent!
Wyatt: "No smoke, no lights, no amplifiers, no big stage production; you think anybody would buy that?"
Grandma Ivy: "I would."
:)
No smoke, no lights, no amplifier...no need! Silky smoove!
Actually they need a huge stage production to hide the wings. Alison's parents were an angel and a bird.
I did!!!!!
I fall in love with Alison's voice all over again every time l hear it. Backed up exquisitely by Jerry Douglas and Union Station. What a treat!
@Alison Krauss Are you kidding? Of course you can.
@Alison Krauss lncidentally, l was present (third row) at Massey Hall in Toronto on the occasion when the entire theatre lights began to dim and kept on dimming until the place was almost completely dark. Loved by many, hated by none. I hope and believe that this is true for Alison Krauss herself. Who could ever hate her?
More than any other quality, I admire her for her down to. Earth Attitude. We pray that she is blessed with a long n healthy life
There is something just magical about when this group gets together. I hate that we have to keep hoping that tragedy keeps striking at them to inspire these kinds of songs that we all crave.

There is just something about how her voice harmonizes with the dobro that is magical.
I listen to this song every day it keeps me on the ground
I listen to this song and the live album. Over and over. Love her and Union Stations
All this glamor and glitz... these artists got to this fancy stage by playing thousands of back county fairs, festivals and whatnot. They earned it.
+John Gardner Amen to that. Just saw and met her Monday night 11/16 in Nashville. You dang right this band has earned it.
