Great advice. If you PLAN in the parking lot, floating your PWC or boat is SUPER EASY and less stressful. Just like flying...Have a mental checklist...Use the same plan over and over.
@@ObiSkiTV It isn't called Divorce Dock for nothing! I owned ski boats for years, but just recently bought a PWC, so I watched to see if there anything that I missed! Thanks again for a valuable video.
Good video! Only thing I would add is always take your lanard key out from ignition before leaving house and put in the little storage unit in between the seat and steering wheel. Lost a key driving down the highway before lest on ignition.
Appreciate the views. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be making the Dunedin Excursion but if you’re ever riding in FL again we can always link up! The Dunedin Excursion is Amazing!! Enjoy!!
@@ObiSkiTV Checking in and it looks like a Go! I'm leaving CT on Thursday and should be in Dunedin for a 3PM check-in on Friday. It's a long drive for an OG ... LOL. 67 years young
Easy tip when backing to keep straight. Use side mirrors, and once you begin to see any part of the trailer, you turn the steering wheel down towards that mirror and say NO. It'll be straight. You shouldn't see anything if it's straight, which is the goal
The orange handle strap on the trailer winch has way less strength than the big black strap. By looping the orange strap through the ski and hooking the winch to the orange strap makes it so all the weight is on the stiches of orange strap rather than the weight being on the large black strap and winch. Great Video 👍👍🍻🍻
you use the same ramp i do,. might be nice to mention to tie off on the other side of the dock so someone can come in behind you , we both know that ramp gets busy

Awesome video.I just bought my first jet ski and I am a little nervous about launching and loading my jet ski and I don’t have any experience maneuvering my trailer my truck does have a backup camera which will guide me a bit.I’m not going to rush it and going to practice in an empty parking lot near my home and hopefully that will give me some confidence 🙏🏽. But I have ridden a jet ski 4 separate times which helps out a bit.Hope all goes well for me thank you for your video
That’s awesome! Welcome to life on a Jetski! It’s a game changer!! Great idea practicing first. I’m telling you it’s the best thing you can do in order to not get nervous when you pull up to busy ramps. Good luck with the ski my friend!!
I used to live on a lake but now different house and will have to trailer. Getting ski this week. QUESTION. After getting ski back on trailer is it ok to drive about an hour home before you flush ski and for me intercooler? So I might have a couple cups of water in the engine bay but what about water in other locations on ski moving about until I get home , flush out, and blow out all water? New to having a supercharger and new to having to drive to a lake. Thanks very much , I just subscribed as your video was FANTASTIC. Just what I needed for confidence
Hey brother, yea you’ll be fine. I’ve had to drive hours home after some rides and flushed it when I got there. I usually take the plugs out and if there is any water in the hull, which is almost never, it comes out on the ride back. Also note, if you’re riding in fresh water, there is no urgency to flush it. Some people never do since it’s fresh water. It’s salt water that has to be flushed every single time when you get back. Also good luck with your ski and appreciate the follow!!
Great video as always. I saw you on the video at the gas station. What grade of gas do you use? I'm asking because this is my first WaveRunner at one time I had a problem with the gas. I found out it was because I usually had about 80% left and I would top it off every time I left the lake. I thought all the gas would mix up but unfortunately it seems the old gas was not getting used.
I’m thinking of buying my first jet ski. I plan to get a 2025 Sea Doo Explorer. Do I need a specific trailer for the Explorer? Do you know if Sea-Doo makes their own trailers? Or is there a brand I should go with which is popular, reliable, and/or affordable?
You don't need a specific trailer for any PWC. There are popular brands like Continental and Triton as well. If you purchase the Sea Doo at a dealer, they will usually sell you the trailer that works best for the ski.
You can but its not necessary. I would say its better to try and ride a couple of different ones to see which one you like better. I don't think you need to rent to find out if you should buy one. Of course I recommend it as its a life changer!!
People still end up unloading, putting plug in , loading up ice chest etc. at boat ramp... Should've showed how to back in the trailer from holding the steering wheel on the bottom... Alot of people don't know this trick.. Hold the steering wheel on the bottom and when you want the trailer to go left , just swing to the left if you want trailer to go right, just swing to the right. But you have to hold the steering wheel at the bottom.
Random question: do you worry about thievery in the gladiator when you’re gone? We’ve a wrangler that will serve as our tow vehicle and I’d love to have it naked but not sure I wanna leave it like that while having fun lol. Maybe a bit of paranoia but one never knows these days.
No one ever talks about unplugging the trailer lights. I'm not a fan of leaving them plugged in regardless if they say the lights are watertight or not.
Whats up OBI! I have a tacoma 3rd gen but its rear wheel drive not 4x4, do you think thats good enough to launch jetski? Ive been seeing videos with 4x4 drowning lol so that gets me nervous haha
Hey brother! You should be ok. I’ve never had to put my truck on 4x4 on a ramp. The problem happens when people go way too far in and that causes a problem. You don’t need to back in that far.
