    I have a Vx Deluxe and a Fish Pro Trophy. Depends what you are trying to get out of it. Both companies produce solid machines, seafood produces the new 325 which is the fastest stock ski on the market and engine seems to be sturdy, and built up. Yamaha GP and FX SVHO both super fast and great skis as well. If youre going for accessories and fishing I say go with Sea doo as they have a whole line dedicated to fishing and exploring. You can add aftermarket parts and items to the back of the Yamaha to get a similar effect. Before I bought my trophy I was torn between which one to get. The Seadoo hull design is pretty different than the Yamaha and rides differently as well. The larger SeaDoos ST3 hull is a much drier ride compared to all the Yamaha models. You can add any of the linq accessories to any of the SeaDoo skis that have linq attachments which is a win in my book. SeaDoo seems to be more innovative as it seems IMO that Yamaha is more traditional with mostly color and dash updates over the years. So it really all boils down to how you want to go use it and what ride style you prefer (hull design). I would say if you prefer the wetter hull of a Yamaha vs a drier ride of the Seadoo or vice versa. Also, if you want to be more open to the Linq accessories maybe SeaDoo is the way to go for you. The carbon seal on SeaDoos is really not an issue, just pay attention to maintenance and taking care of your ski and you will not have any issues. I also prefer the audio system of the Seadoo over the Yamaha although it is not a huge difference. SeaDoo ST3 hulls are compatible with their new windshield if you are into that (industry first), may improve music, decrease wind noise, and keep splash down. I would say if you are really still stuck in between, see if you can test ride different models from the big 3 kawi, Yamaha, and seadoo. See which riding style and accessory line up you prefer, what your use will be, and make your decision based on that. At the end of the day it will be a sort of Android or iPhone sort of decision IMO. There exist aftermarket parts and accessories for all companies, although OEM accessories are nice options. Best of luck hope this helps. I have zero regrets with my Trophy, I can fish with it, play music with it, tow sports with it, hit the sand bar with it, hold 2 passengers with it, and still hit about 60mph, while getting better fuel economy than the supercharged ones with it. Cheers.

      Thanks for your info. I have two knee replacements (so metal knees) do you think a jet ski would be ok for me or would it hurt me to much? How r ur knees when u finish riding?

    • @ekendra21
      @ekendra21 11 місяців тому +1

      @@jamesstrachan2288 yes, I think you would be fine, they make knee pads to help cushion your knees more, the 325 might be a little bit much, and may hurt a little after riding or at least take some getting used to, maybe opt for a ski that is not as boosted if you are new to the sport. The 170 will hit around 58-60 depending on salt or fresh water, current, and wind, so the 325 stock will hit 67, but accelerates about twice as fast and hits turns way harder with that extra power. It may be best to test one out and see for yourself.

    I've had 2 seadoos bought them new. I haven't had alot of trouble with them but I would go with yamaha on my next one cause seadoos are having too many issues like the carbon seal and that reverse thing that clears debris from the jet pump and I feel like seadoos quality is declining in reliability. For the prices that the new ones cost it's ridiculous that they don't run at least 10 to 15 years with out issues for that money that's what we should be getting

    SeaDoo vs Yamaha, they're both good. I just bought a new VX over a GTI. The reason was ergonomics. I didn't like how my knees had to be internally rotated to grip the ergo-lock seat. I get the ergo-lock concept on an aggressive machine like the RXP-X, but on recreational and touring machines, was it the right move? Your mileage may vary.
    If the ergonomics work for you, the SeaDoos have a lot of great features, like Linq. The value proposition on the SeaDoos is hard to beat as well. The fit and finish, I think is better on the Yamahas.
    GTI vs VX, the GTI is wider, feels larger, and is probably more stable. The GTI has more storage volume, but that's due to the depth of the compartments. The floor space of the storage compartments are about the same. I found it easier to reach the bottom of the front storage compartment in the VX because it isn't as deep. Again, I think there's more thought to ergonomics on the Waverunners that isn't quantified on the spec sheets.
    I was impressed by both brands and I think you have go sit on them to figure out which one is best for you.

  • @edwardbowles8613
    @edwardbowles8613 10 місяців тому +1

    The GTX is the only one with the mid storage. It is not the biggest storage of the larger skis. Kawasaki is the largest internal storage. GTX is actually smaller storage and no cupholders. The GTX storage is conventient but the glovebox is tiny and you can not access that storage while driving because your handlebars flip up. Kawasaki Ultra gullwing storage is great and easily accessible while driving plus cupholders. Sea Doo link system is great but you have to buy the expensive link accessories. But system is great.

    Seadoos have plastic hulls.
    Yamaha has fiberglass hulls.
    The plastic will fade in the sun over time.
    Fiberglass wont fade any where near as fast.
    This was the deal breaker for me.

    • @24rezimodnaR
      @24rezimodnaR 5 місяців тому

      Polytech is plastic. That’s on the GTI and spark hulls. Everything else uses a combination of fiberglass and acrylic plastic. More durable than you might think. The FX has SMC fiberglass hull as of 2022+ models except the SVHO if I’m not mistaken. I wanna say the VX lineup and GP HO are SMC too. I know the supercharged GP is definitely not on SMC as that would make it slow EX is for sure on NanoXel there’s no question about that. I don’t like the paint stripping issues on the Yamaha. Also while the NanoXel the the Yamaha top decks are made of is hard to penetrate, it flexes when hitting waves hard which further increases the paint stripping issues. All 3 brands have pros and cons. I went with Kawasaki because with them it seems like they do quality over quantity. If Kawi wasn’t an option, I’d choose Yamaha because I have come across Yamaha engines with over a thousand hours on them. Same with Kawasaki. Never heard of a SeaDoo hitting a thousand

      @badm0t0rf1ng3r 4 місяці тому

      Unless you're talking about the Sparks or the GTI models they don't have plastic hulls. The have fiberglass, and yamaha paints the bottom of their hulls. Would you drag the hood of your car on a beach? thats what you're doing with a yamaha.

    I love the top deck design of the sea doo ST-3 hull . But the hull design is garbage. I love the sea doo 325 powertrain, but again the hulls are not the best. I actually cancelled my 325 order and went with the FX . It won't be as fast as the 325, but I feel the Yamaha hull is so much better, and I want the ride quality and handling over the top speed. I can live without the extra storage, its a trade off and I do give credit to sea doo for the best top deck design. But hull design is more important to me.
