- Haiii this is just another quick update on my braces. Again, I dont have much to say but i'm both excited and scared that we are 9 months in and slowly moving forward in the process. By this time next year, I hope to not have braces and be super happy with my new smile, bite and look. I also hope these videos help others who are deciding, just starting or in the middle of this process too.

Don't worry you're not alone, I've been pushing off my jaw surgery for a pretty large open bite for a while now. Im 26 and plan on having it done within the next year or two. Im super anxious about it but well both be fine. There are jawsurgery forums on reddit that can help you with any questions you may have and alone other people posting their results / experiences. You won't regret it, soon this will just be a glimpse in the past. Some time from now you'll be happy you went through with it while taking a complete bite of a pizza lol . Yeah, it’s a very difficult decision to make. That’s why I also took me a really long time to move forward with it! I still feel kind of goofy sometimes since I have braces and I’m going to be 30 soon, but I think it definitely helped boost my confidence at least a little bit 🤷🏽♀️ and yes, I am on the Reddit forums! The people there are so informative. And that right there, being able to take a full bite out of a pizza or a burger or a sandwich. I cannot wait for that! I’m so embarrassed by my eating 😂 thank you so much for your kind words. I too wish you the best of luck in your journey 💗
I have two friends that just got the same surgery recently. They loved it! First week was hard, but they’d do it again 10/10
That’s what a lot of people say! I’m just trying to keep all of that in mind instead of freaking out about it. Lol but it’s coming up so I’m scared 😂 I hope that I have the same experience as your friends as far as loving it goes 🤞🏽😊

Technically yes, but only at night. They do have permanent retainers now which is what I’m going to opt for so that I don’t have to worry about my dog eating my retainer like he has so many times lol or losing out or anything like that.

how old were you when you had braces?
Originally, I believe I got them on when I was 15! At that point I did not have a noticeable underbite until we took them off and that’s when I found out I had to get surgery!
