True enough, but these two are actually friends. They'd compete against each other then go for dinner and hang out. If you watch vids of the two together it's clear they have a brotherly love thing going on. And that's pretty cool of two ruthless yet honourable competitors.

Watching this really shifts the whole 'Thor Vs Eddie' hype that 2017 was built around, because it was never 'Thor Vs Eddie' it was 'Eddie Vs Brian' at the end of the day. Thor made it about himself with his whole 'i was robbed I deserve this ' routine which really diminished both Brian and Eddie's performance, making the real rivalry a sideshow to him being petty basically

And not only that, but you see when the top 3 took their spots on the pedestals, Eddie actually assisted an injured Shaw up onto the 3rd place ramp. Thor didn't bother to even look in that direction, and Eddie was the first one to reach out a hand to Thor afterward. You could tell Thor's mind was already thinking about calling foul, even though the video evidence clearly points to him doing several poor reps. I know he's the tallest competitor, so it's much more difficult for him to do pressing movements, but Brian didn't complain and he's almost as tall as Thor.

Magnus truly is strongman personified. So impartial and fair. Even when it came to his own countryman he didn’t hold any favouritism. He is right, in strongman you don’t try and question another persons lift. You will always argue your own but never against another competitor. Winning WSM is an enormous achievement, but I feel like winning it once is not really that impressive these days.
And that's not to disrespect anyone(!!!!), but throughout the years there are many that have won the title once, but when people talk about the GOATs of the sports, they always talk about those who won multiple times.
In a sense I feel like Eddie has blown it out of proportion and in general that year (2017) would've been just "another year" if the whole issue between Eddie and Thor didn't happen.
Almost no one remembers or cares about past victories of people who won the competition once.
Yes, it's always something the winners will be proud of and happy about, but none of those guys are considered the GOATs of the sport and with time will be forgotten. (as sad as it is to say)
I feel like the only reason people are talking so much about 2017 is just because of what happened - if none of it would've happened, it would've been "just another year".

Lmao that's rich considering Eddie has actively diminished Thor's achievements over and over and over again with multiple videos over the last couple of years. Thor's 501kg is being diminished by Eddie but Tom Stoltman's atlas stone or Biby's Axle press aren't even tho they happened under the exact same circumstances.
Also, you really REALLY need to have your head up your ass, or Eddie's, take a pick, to not realize the blatent cheating Eddie made use of in WSM2017.
Ever since Pre 1970s, the WSM events have always been 3 moving and 3 static events. Everyone and their dog knew that Eddie excels in static events and is mediocre at best at moving events. Why did WSM 2017 suddenly have 4 moving events and 2 static events when that hasn't happened for more than 5 decades? Man this mini-series is such a smart strategic move. Re-contextualizing for everyone why this fight is so personal for Eddie in the first place. Showing the world, without a shadow of a doubt, why theres bad blood, how he was the one who was the victim of a great injustice and, as a result, why he is the one who is far more emotionally invested in the fight because this fight is, for him, getting justice for the wrong that was committed against him by Thor: the attempted invalidation of Eddie's proudest athletic accomplishment.
And that's why Eddie will win this fight, because he has a real reason to fight. Thor doesn't.

i'm less hyped for it because the documentary shows how unnesseccary all this is. I really like Thor but 2017 was a dick move by him and a lack of respect. With a simple and honest apology they could have still be friends and we could have seen some great collabs in the future

Thor felt aggrieved by a few decisions, which he’s entitled to his view on. However, I think Eddie had more in the tank on the press and deadlift events, so it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Both excellent strongmen - in an era with of Shaw, Big Z, etc.

Hopefully this finally puts an end to all of the absurd claims and conspiracy theories about WSM 2017. Eddie won fair and square. He was the better and stronger man. He knows it, Thor knows it, and even the greats like Kaz and MVM know it too.

@@adrianpap1374 excuses excuses and more excuses... lol
That’s all you Eddie haters have, lame ass excuses
      Lets discuss
Even if they added a chain pull or raised the stone platforms to give Thor an extra advantage he still would not have won. Just as Big Loz had clearly explained, it was the squat that made the difference and cost Thor the chance at the title, not the Viking press. Thor simply did not do enough reps on the squat, and as a result of his performance in the squat he put himself in a deficit that he was unable to come back from.
Also, since you brought, it up even if Thor would have gotten the precious extra point on the Viking Press it would not have changed the outcome. Eddie clearly had enough left in the tank to do another rep or two to still get the win in that event. Sorry but that one point wouldn’t have made any difference in the finishing order
Same goes for the Atlas stones and the height of their platforms.
As was literally shown on part one of this video series Eddie was nearly as fast as Thor on a higher set of Atlas stones just a few months prior to WSM 2017, so obviously Eddie more than had the ability to do the stones faster and get even more of a lead by finishing higher than 4th place on them if he had to. But he didn’t have to. There was no need to rack up any more points than he needed to secure the win. And like most professional strongman, he only exerted as much energy to win than required.
So yeah, sorry to burst your bubble but none of what you claim would have made any difference whatsoever. Eddie still would have won.
Got any other shady excuses you like to try?
