It's funny how the Wanderers get called out for fleeing to save themselves from extinction, but people don't tend to call out Alarielle for also abandoning Ghyran.
Elves get the short end of the stick in AoS lore: 1. Old World dies, most Elves get devoured by Slaanesh. 2. Wood Elves (Wanderers) are now hated by the forests instead of protecting the forests. 3. Elves that come back are soulless (majority of Deepkin). 4. Light Elves have to sacrifice themselves to moutains and wear stupid cow helmets to survive in AoS (Lumineth). 5. Morathi enters Slaanesh and kills Elf souls again.
Hey thats a fair point! Though I suppose if you're the god of a place, you may be able to more easily control the "narrative" on who the betrayer is and isnt haha
I’d like to see more of them interacting with other factions. There’s a short story with a branchwych who’s held captive by a slaanesh warlord and does what she has to in order to get out of there. It’s much more refreshing to see the story from their perspective as opposed to other races as well.
Definitely on team Sylvaneth 🌳 😄 would love to hear more on the dark sinister side of them too. Like the spite-revenants and what occurred during the mind wipe
@@2Tough very true! I do like the fact we don’t know it all and there’s mystery still... buuuut a black library novel based after the event that suggests some possibilities would be cool 😄
I love your videos. I just found this channel yesterday and have never been super interested in AOS lore, but after your Soul Wars videos and some of your Broken Realms, I’m sooo invested. Your videos go perfectly in-depth without too many details, and your active narrating voice is so relaxing to listen to. Keep it up, I beg you 😂
There is an interesting underline here, Aralielle is the incarnation of Isha, the old elven goddess of life, fertility and so on. Isha was kidnapped by Nurgle and he used his diseases on her before releasing them to the World. Keep in mind that this is his way of showing love. Nurgle here is like an abusing husband coming to get his waifu back.
Besides the Gnarlmaw, which looks like a tree, I would like to see more thematic corruption and rot for nurgle in regards to these slyvaneth locations. Corrupted treemen special units, rotting trees for terrain, stuff that can bring them tied together more so.
Hey, I have a friend who was surprised Morathi wasn’t a god before - he was under the impression that all super powerful beings were gods, and she definitely had the power herself. What defines a god? We all know none of the non-chaos gods compare to chaos ones in sheer scope or power, yet they’re still called gods?
I'm gonna level with you, GW has never fully articulated what it means to be a god. It was stated though that Morathi wasnt one before, and is one now... So I dunno haha. I just kind of shrug my shoulders until they explain it better
I really love the War of Life Stories. Best piece of lore of early AoS. Nurgle even set a tiny seed of corruption in me. When AoS came i fell in love with Sylventh and started to buld a huge army. Now 3 years later i i got a 4000+ Points nurgle army and poor alarielle is collecting dust.
Catching up on videos as I've fallen way behind. I think the reason we don't see more of Nurgle or other gods spying is because of the nature of the game. AoS is a wargame generally without grand strategy. Armies spying on each other usually isn't relevant to the tabletop, so it isn't heavily featured in the lore. Maybe I should tweak my campaign ruleset to incorporate a spying/scouting mechanic...
@@techpriestofmars899 Probably most Cities Aelves at the top, then Lumineth, Idoneth, Darkling Covens and Ordo Serpentis, and finally Daughters at the bottom. This order might change when new lore and Malerion's faction drop.
@Lorenzo Panza You say that like Duardin didn't also retreat to Azyr, or like there weren't humans and Aelves that fought to the death and extinction for their various Realms.
I need to stop watching these for the sake of my wallet. I already have a Beasts of Chaos army and an Imperial Knights army in the works, but now I want a Glotkin, Seraphon, and Guardsmen army
This year has really shown me a new and definitely unique aspect in which which Nurgle spreads his corruption. (I’m not trying to be controversial in any way) But just imagine this horribly twisted person afflicted with all kinds of terrible diseases... and they don’t even realize it.. not only that, but they deny how terrible the disease really is..or that the disease isn’t even real. They are part of Nurgles army and they don’t even realize it.

Totally agree! Blacktalon: First Mark is a book that gives one example, but I also would love to see more!
Add Realmslayer: Blood of the Old World to the list! The audio drama starts in Ghyran and a Sylvaneth even joins Gotrek's party for a while.
That new Sylvaneth warcry box is tempting..
I know many people who have fallen to temptation with it hahaha!

Welcome aboard! Thank you so much for the kind words :) If there's ever a topic you wan covered, let me know in the comments of a video!

That’s 40k lore in fantasy it was a human goddess
Want to see a Wanderers faction that is desperately looking for Ariel and Kurnous, or a way to free them from Slaanesh’s (or now Morathi’s) grasp.
Damn great content as always Doug! Thanks for covering one of my favourite stories/timeframes in AoS!

I know this question is unrelated to the video, but now that MagSavvy doesn't seem to be a thing anymore what magnets do you recommend?
Hmmm I'd probably point you to the site "Magnet Baron", they do a great job of matching magnet sizes with specific model types and sizes :)

You and me both!
If there's an Alarielle book in Broken Realms, I'd like to see the Wanderers try to redeem themselves by coming to the Living City's aid.
That would be an awesome plotline for sure!

How would you rank all the aelf factions from worst to best?
Sylvaneth
Daughters of Khaine
Idoneth Deepkin
Lumineth Realm Lords
Cities of Sigmar
First Sylvaneth are not Aelves. Also what is your definition for worst to best? Like in TT stats or morality etc?
@@adambielen8996 what you think are the coolest in general.
Sylvaneth
Deepkin
Lumineth
Daughters of Khaine
*thats my opinion :)

Your first in my heart ;)
I wanna know what the native Duardin did...
The Root Kings fought straight through to the present. They are much diminished but still around.
