I love how Destruction ties everything together so nicely. Order factions are often indepent in their development besides their species, Chaos all originates from the same place but are all very dissconected in how they acted throughout history, Death is very new so the factions don't neccesarily have much history of their own, but Destruction armies are all not only from the same source basically but they are so well woven together that you can clearly see the tapestry that is what they all want as Destruction but also how they can serve as independent groups that still squabble among themselves. Idk if I explained it so well but it's something I love about the Destruction armies
I will say, its so cool how they seem so... uniform? Like they are all on the same page with one another, and dont require some supreme leader like Nagash is for Death.
I think a lot of the ancient background lore actually happened in the Old World, not the Realms, and the specifics have just been forgotten, because I can't see the Forest Goblins restarting their spider worship from scratch, nor can I imagine Night Goblins devolving back into normal goblins and then re-evolving into cave goblins, I think the myths are referring to the Old World origins of these subspecies. I think their beliefs have been recontextualized to fit with the Bad Moon and Gorkamorka, but I think the fundamental origins of the factions predate the Realms.
The Spider Fang being put into the MoonClan book was the one thing I truly hated. I had Really wanted them to get their own troop choices and and army book.
After watching this I now not only want to see more spider variety (realms aside there are SO many interesting options aside from generic fat orb weaver body, if nothing else a hairy tarantula) But also for maybe some unique ability to trap terrain and objectives, also make the venom apply to grot attacks since they literally coat their weapons in venom in lore) Love scuddletribes but they have so much missed potential I feel.
Nice!!! I love these guys. The gitz in general are IMO the most interesting faction in AoS. I love the diversity in the range. Agreed that the models need a refresh (or at least the basic spider riders), but damn the arachnarok has gotta be one of the coolest kits GW has ever put out. Great vid Doug
I can't figure out why Gdubs hasn't released a model for the bad moon itself ! I know a lot of folks use the endless spells moon or the terrain piece from skull pass but they really should release some sort of moon marker on a flight peg or something
@@Xenos_hive personally I made a bad moon marker out of a pipe cleaner frame which I then wrapped in aluminum foil. I then went over it all with greenstuff and adding a face to it. I just used craft paints and I'm actually pretty proud how it turned out. There are literally hundreds of 3d files people have made for the soul purpose of being used as a proxy , Gdubs is missing out on profit, does that sound like them to you?
Huzzah,, needed this. Backstory, apologies. So I've been wanting to play war games for quite some time. Having played role playing games for some 30 years I wanted something different. But still have miniatures like i was using for RPG's, war games like Age of Sigmar was beginning to be a big thing around my area that I live in. So I chose the gloomspite gitz mainly to play the moon Clan and the squigs ( have some 850pts. - over 6mts.) . Totally overlooked the Spiderfang and after seeing this video and others like it. I went head first all Spiderfang 950pts. - 6wks.) HaHa. I gotta stop for awhile and get to work assembling and painting what i got. Thank you thank you.
Love the lore. The idea of basically viet cong goblins on spiders conveniantly defending neferata is awesome. But, i hate spiders with a burning passion so i feel real bad for those khorne guys

Blimey, last time I was this early the high elves were sealing the great vortex
haha!

I love grots, such a characterful race
Never knew they were Forest Goblins. Might have to make some.

at least they have some lore.
I really hope we will get some grot wolf riders lore like the Hobgoblin Khanate from fantasy/old world.

Going to go build a Grimscuttle army after this
I have a bunch or spiderfang grots (around 1500 points) but I like using squigs more because of how silly they look
Oh snap! That is quite an army!
What facction doesn't catch Doug's attention? :D
Probably none, that's how awesome AOS can be
the correct answer is "All of them.... for at least a month until he trades them off" ;)

I always forget about the skitterstrand. Warp jumping spiders are ridiculous
Honestly... I do too hahah

They need more models.
Where I can find few pages of original text with this lore, without spending money on this ludicrously overprized ad-magazine White dwarf?
